Nightly CyanogenMOD - problems with fastboot (windows / linux) - Zuk Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi everybody, i hope, that someone can help me,
i thought i should root my Z1 and it was not a problem via windows (via LINUX i couldnt even find the device via "adb devices")
it was not a problem. first i installed twrp, but everytime when i restarted the recoverymenu, twrp went away and the default recovery menu started. so i installed CMR and it was not a problem. so far everything okay. but than i thought i should install the current nighlies of cynagonMOD and the problems started
when i try CMR to installed the current nightlies, i get the error
""this package is for device:Z1 ; this device is jfltexx" nomatter if its the nightly from 13.11.2015 or 14.11.2015
under windows, when i start adb devices, the device will be found
adb devices
List of devices attached
529e86fb device
and when i try to start into fastboot, it is possible. but when i'm in fastboot-modus
i can do anything. nothing happens. whatever i try, i get the feedback "waiting for devices"
any idea? can someone tell me, whats the problem is?
@update: when im in CMR, windows shows my ZUK z1 as GT-I9505 (i guess its samsung right?) how can i deinstall CMR and install TWRP (cause via fastboot its not possible)

Do you use fastboot with the -i switch followed by the device ID?

at the first time yes. but now its not possible. im now really frustrated, cause now im in the boot animation loop and can do nothing. even not able to upload any zip files to restore the zuk cyagon OS . any idea how i can install now the normal version of the phone again? i can only enter CMR

Install Fail, Sideload not working - CM 11 - 12.12 - CWM

Hey guys,
i'm really sorry to bother you, i'm normally not the type of guy who jumps to "help me" real quick. However, since there doesnt seem to be anyone else with my Problem, and i couldt fix it by reading stuff myself, here i go.
Basically, i started off with a brand new internat. G2, D802. I didnt accept any OTAS.
I rooted it with ioroot, no problem. Afterwards, i installed CWM 6.0.4.4. Semi-touch as described in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2468858. Still no problem. Everything booted fine, no bootsloops, no nothing. Perfect so far.
Made a Nanondroid, saved my EFS. Backed it up. So far so good.
Then, i dl´ed the newest CM 11 Nightly, 12.12.2013. I went into Recovery, and did FactReset -> Format Sys -> Wipe Cache -> Wipe Dalvik
When i tried to install CM, a "status 7 error" was returned, i can give the complete message any time. Maybe i hit a corrupt download, idk.
Well, under "mount storage", connect an usb storage didnt work, so i guess i´m stuck with sideload.
I read some tutorials, and when showing the devices with my phone being in recovery, it shows "XXXXXX (some number, guess my mac-adress), recovery". SO i guess thats fine.
I then enabled "install zip via sideload" in cwm, and did "adb sideload /PATH/NEWLYDOWNLOADEDROM.ZIP". Wont work, all it returns is the list of commands.
Doing "adb push /PATH/ROM.ZIP /sdcard/XXX" does seem to copy something, however, when accessing that folder, it says theres no zip there.
i'm kind of at a loss now. Entering CWM works without fail, but how to proceed? I still have the Nandroid on my phone to resort to, but well, id rather get stuff working.
Thanks for help guys. All your hard work is appreciated.
Well, i managed to push stuff to my phone successfully now, still that error: set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed.
Googling stuff returns that it seems to be an error with CWM. However, i am still using the latest version. Even so, how do i up/downgrade (maybe offical version) in cwm itself? Or do i have to use a 3rd party programm.
how were you able to push to the phone? I cant get ADB to read my phone through twrp
Owell, ended up fixing stuff myself.
What i did was:
Download an the official CWM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2468858.
Then go to where your adb stuff on your pc is, shift+right click -> open command prompt here. Connect your phone to the pc via usb cable, while beeing i recovery (i guess cwm or twrp shouldnt matter).
In Cmd, do:
adb kill-server
adb start-sever
adb devices
that should bring up something like [Some Number, your phones mac-address] recovery
all the while, do not start "install zip via sideload" in your recovery. I did not need that at all.
in your command prompt, type:
adb push PATH_TO_YOUR_DOWNLOADED_RECOVERY/WHATEVER_ITS_NAME_IS.zip /sdcard/WHATEVER_ITS_NAME_IS.zip
it will copy the recovery to your /sdcard-folder.
Type "adb kill-server" and unplug phone (did it just to be sure, idk if its necessary)
In your recovery, just install the downloaded .zip-recovery, and under "advanced" do reboot recovery.
It left me with a touch version of cwm 6.0.4.4, the same version number as before. However, this time installing the latest cm-11 nightly worked just fine.
Idk if the unofficial one is bugged, but best someone post that in the cwm-recovery thread. I cant, since my post are not over 9000.
Hope it helps.
im having this issue on my VZW LG G2. Im stuck in CWM getting Status 7 abortions when trying to flash cm 10.2. Rooted with io. I was on OTA 12B and looking for a fix.
Fixed it myself, thanks.

[SOLVED][HELP] Lg G2 is stuck at cwm recovery

Dear people of xda,
Recenlty ive receive a FOTA update to my device which runs 4.2.2. Being stupid, i did the update although i had cwm recovery installed on my devices. Now my device keeps bootlooping into cwm without being able to do anything.
Ive read tons of threads talking about this issue but i still cant get my to boot normally.
Yingy in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2563527 had the same problem but the only diffrence is my pc cant recognize my device in order to do the adb fix by thecubed.
Im plugging my G2 for the first time in this computer and that is why i think my pc is failing to install drivers. I downloaded and instellad latest driver although windows device manger shows error devices not detected and the end of the process.
In order to fix my phone i just need to make me pc recognize my phone in adb although phone was never plugged before to this pc so i think my G2 wont let it access. I tried installing universal driver such as Pdanet as offered in threat but still when i write adb devices in cmd i get device offline!
Download latest adb drviers, lates lg g2 driver, lg user support tool does not recognize plugged device as well. All me sdk manger tools are patched to latest version.
PLEASE ive tried anything possible. spend like 9 hours and still nothing. i would really appriciate your help.
Thanks.
Edit: here my problem with pdanet drivers, it asks me to allow pc usb debbuging as shown in screenshot below but icant do it since im stuck at cwm recovery!
Solved!
BOOM!! after 12 hours i FINALLY manged to solved this problem. Really simple actually lol.
If anyone come across the issue please do the following:
1. Go to clockwork recovery as always, go to install zip from sdcard, choose install zip from sideload.
2. Plug your phone to pc.
3. Run adb with lastest drivers and sdk tools.
4. At the adb folder press shift+right click and start cmd.
5. write adb devices it should show your device id like this (xxxxxxxxx sideload).
6.Download latest twrp recovery from here http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/197 and if you have open europe version G2 like me download latest version from here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/g2d802
7.put the zip file in the adb folder, do not unzip it.
8. write in cmd console adb sideload xxxx.zip (xxxx is the name of twrp file).
9. cwm will flash twrp recovery over cwm.
10. reboot in recovery in advanced options.
11. now you have twrp recovery.
12. follow this guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696&nocache=1
13. THATS IT!!!
finally after going through this mess, im never using cwm recovery again. twrp is the best
good luck everyone!

X800 Fastboot brick

Hi guys I tried to root my LeTV 1 Pro but it didn't worked.
My phone keeps rebooting in fastboot ( I see the penguin 10-15sec and it reboot again and again) or it stays alight with the penguin.
Computer doesn't recognize it.
Thanks.
Try and plug it to your computer then keep power and wol down pressed for like 15 sec: now fastboot should stick and device shouldn't reboot, so you can flash a recovery (TWRP?) and start over with a new ROM.
Thank you for your reply,
It still doesn't work, penguin stays on screen but it's not recognized by computer ( before the brick it was)
I'm not very experienced in rooting btw.
Edit : The recovery.bat in the file X1_X800_TWRP_Recovery2.8.7.0 says "Complete! The device is ready to reboot into Recovery." which I do but it keeps reboot with the pinguin on.
I recieved my phone today and it just wont stay in fastboot mode. I can do anything I want but it just keeps rebooting before I can flash anything. Any suggestions on how I should keep the Phone in Fastboot mode?
You need to install drivers. After that it will not reboot anymore. That worked for me atleast.
What kind of drivers do I need? Please link them to me I have tried a lot of drivers. The thing is that the phone also does not stay in Fastboot mode when not plugged into the PC.
It's my topic for my problem so don't ask questions for you on it please u_u

Zamul don't be mean. He just asked for help as you did...
I have downloaded drivers (I think) from https://twrp.me/devices/letvle1pro.html where I also get twrp 3.0.2.0
Btw if you are using Windows you can open Device Manager and there you will see your device and what drivers it has installed (you can always use update drivers function, maybe that will help too).
Here is a little guide how I managed to get twrp:
Just download it (drivers and intall them) (and download twrp also). Place twrp file to the folder where you have your adb installed.
In phone settings go to developer menu (first you need to unlock it) and you need to switch on usb debugging.
Connect phone to the pc via usb.
Open command prompt in your adb folder and type Adb devices (if you have drivers installed corectly you will se your devices connected under some code).
Then just write Adb reboot booloader and phone will restart to the recovery.
Type into the comand prompt: fastboot flash recovery name***.img (where the name is the file name of twrp you have downloaded- just a tip: rename it so it is easier to remember for example to twrp. Then the command will look like: fastboot flash recovery twrp.img)
If succesful, write fastboot reboot and that is all.
Btw for me it did not work first time. I had to load twrp for second time and when I wrote fastboot reboot then I immediately pressed volume up so It went directly to twrp recovery.
Hope it helps. Cheers
I have this problem

Sudden Boot-loops

Hi,
Just got an ZUK Z1 from one of my clients and the problem with the device is bootloops when trying to reach OS.
this issue came all of a sudden.
I managed to get into recovery and fastboot modes successfully but cmd won't show any serial after "fastboot devices" command but adb devices (while i'm in recovery mode via Aplly update from adb") showing serial accordingly and identify device.
when trying to push twrp or an update to CM OS in order to fix probable system files cmd replied
error: locked
i assuming it's the locked boot-loader.
even in wondershare mobilego the process stuck in 50%
i just need to backup client data.
Thanks for your kindly help,
- Oria, Israel.

X720 stuck in TWRP recovery / LineAge installation / ADB Sideload not working

I hope someone in here can help me with the following problem:
I had an old Android version on my X720, which I wanted to update/install LineAge custom ROM with Android 10 on. Since the old Android was acting weird and USB debugging couldnt be enabled for some reason, I decided to wipe the System/Cache on it using TWRP recovery BECAUSE the device wasnt found on Windows 7 when plugging in via USB. Previously I installed ADB drivers and everything needed, but still Windows couldnt find the device and I was unable to move the Lineage ROM (plus GApps) to the device to be able to install it via TWRP. Anyway, now there is no OS installed and I can only boot into TWRP. I tried to ADB sideload the Lineage ROM via TWRP (via connected USB to my Notebook), but after typing "adb devices" and "adb sideload path...." etc. in Windows Terminal as Admin I always get "no devices found". So, when connecting the device to my Notebook, nothing is shown and the device doesnt appear under "Device Manager" and I think that's the main problem.
Does anyone have any solution or idea? Thanks a lot in advance!
