Chinese Honor 7 vs EU Honor 7 - Honor 7 General

Ok, so think I'm about to choose the Honor 7 over getting the nexus 5X after some careful thought.
Now i just have a questions....
Which version do you think is the best one to buy?
After watching multiple videos, I'm seeing that the Chinese version seems to have quite more features than the EU version. For example I've seen that on the Chinese version you can download YouTube videos straight to the phones internal memory or SD, can this be done on the EU version?
I've also seen that you can shrink the YouTube video and having it playing in the background.
Basically all the features that was shown in S7yler's 10 tricks and tips video he done last month. Can they all be done in the EU version?
Also with the EU version only having 16gb of ram, can you move apps to the SD card?
Thanks for any help

And the chinese version just got update with "pro" camera mode !

The Pro Mode on the camera is in the B140 firmware found elsewhere on this forum....

Apps can be moved to the SD card much like on any Lollipop device, if you rooted the Honor 7 you could try app2sd

Hi!
I do not care about youtube download or other features, the PLK10 chinese version does have 64GB internal storage and dualsim, both are important to me. So I did not have had a chance to choose, as only the chinese honor 7 does have both of these features.

I agree with you.
Im willing to learn how to flash the chinese rom in the european version.
My limited knowledge makes me affraid of a brick. My 3years warranty european Honor 7 just lack in it software and nfc, things solved in the chinese 64gb version.
I would like to find a safe way to unpack chinese 5.1 lollipop version and flash just system, I think we only need to pay attention for the baseband/modem partition, as could be different in the eu version. For the rest in theory it should work just fine as I dont expect any other hardware.
Just BTW, what about buying a back 64gb back cover? Could we get nfc support?

I flashed chinese 5.1.1 on the honor 6 plus when I had it. Take my advice dont do it.
I made a nandroid back up before I did it and after I could not restore it. I then used the honor 6 tool to unpack firmware and flash it back to the phone using cmd, it didnt work either. I think when you flash the chinese version it must change some hardware of the phone.
But please note at the time there was only a full rom package of 4.4.2 for my EU version. And of course downgrade is not possible without the official rollback package, which was an OTA update and not a full rom.
But my overall advice dont risk it. I ended up sending the phone back for the honor 7 and I wont be making the same mistake.

MT7-TL10 B121 International Firmware

Ne firmware from Huawei Ru
http://consumer.huawei.com/ru/suppo...x.htm?id=36521&pname=MT7-TL10&pcode=Jazz-TL10
Release date 26/01
Should be for international TL10
No chance log
Has someone tested?
Just did the update. It went well, no problem, I'm yet to find any difference from the previous ones.
Does the phone, with it's very large screen, still show LESS information than a smaller phone? C'mon, the software on this thing totally sucks. I have a giant screen with such ridiculous font spacing, meaning I get less information on my 6-inch screen than I can get on a 5-inch model such as a P6. What kind of sad joke is this?
Does the new software fix this problem? If not, I have a mint Mate 7 for sale, used only long enough to see Huawei has made no progress with their software.

I'm from the Philippines and I downloaded the B121 firmware from the link above and flashed it on my phone, I extracted and put the dload folder in my external SD card and did a local update via the updater under menu options, nothing was erased after except for root, so I rooted my phone again via CWM.
By the way, I also have the MT7-TL10 32gb/3gb version and did not get any updates from the updater, i was also in B120 SP04 before I flashed the B121.

Why do you want to downgrade? I was having some thought on updating my firmware to that of the Chinese version.
You can flash the firmware manually through adb, you'll need to extract the firmware. There are other threads in here that discusses about that.
My Italian Mt7 TL10 failed b121 update
I tried locL update, from recovery and by Hisuite
All failed, didnt even start

I want to downgrade because the Chinese version has issues. I have owned many HW phones and running a Chinese load is always a PITA. I want a normal international load that does not perpetually harass me with Huawei store stuff, that does not provide its own broken Calendar and Mail app, and that lets me manage my SIM cards correctly since I need dual SIM support to work in a specific way.
Unfortunately, I read the instructions for installing an international load over top of a Chinese load. I don't want to root my device, have never rooted a device, don't know how, don't want to know how, etc. It seems I am stuck. Even if I changed my mind, the instructions are not newbie level, so I very much doubt I could follow instructions that are not step-by-step "press this", "type that", unless I devote a lot of research. I could buy a new phone for cheaper than the time I would invest in this.
Gimme instructions

I bought a russian version of the phone and after many times of ROM's flashing I ended up with chinise B122. Now I also want to migrate to European version and do not know how. It's not a problem for me to get a root and I also can try to dig dipper to figure out how to make the downgrade. Can you be so kind and provide me with a link for instructions you read, please, so I can try it myself. Thank you.

[Q] Updating firmware and software

Hello, I am very new to this and to the forum so i hope you will vear with my lack of knowhow.
I have just bought a Redmi Hongmi Note 4g LTE 2Gb single sim which is really nice except it has come with Miu 66.44.22.00 and Android 4.4.4. It only has 8Gb internal memory and kitkat doesn't allow the phone to read or write to the SD card. I believe Lollipop does allow this but probably it would be best to update the firmware first as I am not sure if it is an original version of Miu, otherwise I think it would update automatically wouldn't it? Also many of the options are in Chinese so it would be nice to have an English version.
I would really appreciate advice and guidance please. I really don't want to ruin the phone. Thank you.
Jill
Search the english miui forum (miui.en) and find the international version of miui and flash it. Maybe flash a custom recovery first, it's better than the stock one.
From the middle of nowhere to the center of everywhere...
Thanks very much.
Sure you have to flash? I saw v6 in my updater and just downloaded it, officially.
I don't think my firmware is original. It has strange 66.44.22.00 version so I don't think the updater is working.

Flash Chinese Rom on Honor 7EU

Hi to all,
Ive been reading a lot this forum, and i find the chinese version more complete, so my question is simple.
¿is it possible to flash a chinese rom? I like chinese features, and i read it gets more updates.
My only worries are warranty and to lose european radio bands.
Any help?
Give it a try and let us know how you get on....;0)
Thanks for your message sheridan2000,
I'm a newie, until now I only had a nexus 4, wich have a huge community, I don't know how to do if for this new phone I just received, and I'm worried about the warranty, about brick if and if is possible get back to EU flash rom.
My abilities are limited, and with my lack of knowledge I feel is too risky.
If some one with experience can bring some information would be great.
Regards,
Just kidding fella, think at this early stage in developement best not to flash any roms not intended for the EU version as may mess up your phone. When we get a fully working ROOT and TWRP then there will be some safety in doing so....

Agree with him! When we get a stable and well working custom recovery, I think people will mod the Honor 7 more.
Any why do you want the chinese version? I tried a chinese MIUI rom on my Honor 6, and the all the chinese stuff drove me crazy so I had to roll back to a normal EU rom...

Hi!
I feel like chinese rom is more "updated" I think european version is more "conservative" as they might try to secure the user experience. Chinese rom gets much more updates, Ive read something about huawei idchanger; Chinese rom also have more options like recording call, navigation shortcuts, youtube bloat window and download...
In nexus we could chose wich part of the rom we would like to flash, is that posible in this huawei? What I have thought is what about flash the Chinese rom, without flash the radio baseband in order to keep the compatibility with european LTE bands. Any idea??

One question: you had the complete nandroid backup and you couldn't flashed it after experimenting with the Chinese ROM over EU? How far did you get then or where did you stuck when trying to reverse?
I never had EU Honor 7, but my personal opinion is that before playing with different roms, you should be perfectly aware what are you doing and what do you want to achieve. Changing hardware is out of the question and probably is the same with drivers. At least to the point when a real custom rom appears. As I mentioned there are some modifications of Chinese roms already available as a flashable zip, which don't alternate baseband or kernel in general, but they are customized to particular roms. Flashing any of them on EU rom could be safe only if you can get back in the case anything goes wrong. Otherwise, if you just need a particular system application, you can always try to push it to the system with appropriate file manager and stay safe as long as you have the nandroid backup.
Nandroid backup did not work through twrp.
Chinese rom was fine but was a developer edition.
Phone can not go back to kitkat from chinese lollipop.
Tried offical downgrade package. Did not work.
Tried back up many times. Did not work.
Chinese emui site takes hours to load and most of the time fails through multiple browsers.
Dont waste your life.
I was still in my 14 day return so exhange by my network to honor 7
Never messing with a huawei phone again where there is little to no support
i had tried chinese rom PLK-U00 which is DUAL 4G as per claim by Honor China, what i do is i extract out the boot&recovery&system&cache&userdata img from the update.app (using huawei tools) then flash it under fastboot, it will boot & load to "Android is upgrading" but after the progress finish it restart itself and repeat the "android is upgrading" progress
I've tried the same with 5.1.1 ply-tl01h rom. I get the bootloop with boot and system flashed and almost get to the home screen using the boot from the 121 firmware
Hi,
I hope you could find a way. I know there are chinese roms available, but hard to find and understand, we might ask them in english then they might help us.
I hope you could fix your phone
Hello Guys,
I bought my Honor 7 yesterday, and this is the model number -- PLK-L01C636B120
I tried to update to B121 or B130 or 140, All of them failed.
As I read my device model is Malaysia not Europe, So Can I flash Europe Stock ROM and flash all the updates?

NO i don’t think so! You should do not do that, because there are some differences between both firmwares. Pre-defaults for the mobil-net (modem drivers) ; LTE specifications; maybe some functions like recording during a call etc.
Edit: @Muhammad Rihawi have tried it and it seems to work. But i dont’t recommand it anyway!

Android 5.1.1 or 6.0 ?

Hy guys,in the first day when i bought this phone i made the update to 6.0 whithout using it on 5.1.1 Now i'm running on B564 but i have one big question, which one is better,5.1.1 or 6.0,and why ?
I find 6 better but I miss some security features from 5. Interesting thing, that on German site there was 6 upgrade and then they remove it and now there is the newest 5 only.

They both have their advantages and disadvantages. Personally I think they equal out as long as you use the chinese version bc of the much better software (Camera, Music etc.)

So you recomend me to install the Chinese version of B564 ? (I dont want B574) Now i have the European version.
Just keep EU version and Android 6. Huawei will update Android 6 with new security updates from Google, atm for 1 SIM you can find B581, think soon will be released as official. I need to wait for 2 SIM variant.

Upgrading chinese Axon7 to Android Nougat OS

Hello! I live in the UK but I got an Axon 7 from a chinese reseller, I thought it was a good idea, I was especially looking forward to try daydream. However, I think I need Nougat for that (and some other things), which seems not to be available by normal updates. The current version says "ZTE_A2017V2.1.1B07", MiFavor 4.0.
From reddit, somebody pointed me to the chinese update from the axon7 website, which I am planning to install now. However, I was wondering whether there was any way to change my phone into something like a 2017G edition so that I could then install a non-chinese stock android version. Does what I have just written make any sense or I am not grasping something?
If you could even just link to the right thread or anything, I will it myself and make sure to understand it.
Thanks!

It does make sense, and it's a common thing to do. But a few words first:
OTA will definitely not work
You need to unlock the bootloader to do this, since you need TWRP to flash stuff
You should install A2017U firmware, or at least try both. A2017G's firmware is not very good... i have a G myself.
You have to keep the A2017 modem and install the system without changing it. I'm 99% sure that the only way to do this is using flashable system zips like the ones tron1 made.
And last, but not least... I might sound rude, but why don't you look over Guides, News and Discussions before asking? This way you get your answer instantly... I'm sure I've seen a guide on how to do this.
Hello, I have a Chinese zte axon 7 too. you need up update your b013. get the zip file place on an SD card in the root directory. from this the Android N updates will roll it.
welcome to the UK Chinese axon 7 club. let me know if you need anything else. I've had mine now for 6 months and it's a great phone.
