Audio skipping zenfone 2 laser ze500kl - Zenfone 2 Laser Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Everybody,
Anybody experiencing audio playback skipping for music apps (Google play or Default Asus Music player)?
Audio skipping is only when playing music.
FW Version : WW_12.8.5.118_20150915 (non rooted)
Thank you in advance if there are any solutions.
regards,
Kenneth

Would you like to try this?
Put your music in the internal memory instead of on the External SD card.
Does it solve your skipping problem? It seems to work for me. Please try and let us know.

I have my music on my micro sd card and it plays perfectly with both the default asus music app and Sony Walkman. Only problems occur when using FM Radio and headphones/earphones.

As Hkwildboy said, are you putting your music in an SD Card? Your SD Card may not be fast enough for music playback. If the problems till persists, check app processes and make sure that you have plenty of free ram. There's also the possibility that the audio files itself is the problem, so be sure to test the files on another device and make sure that it's fine.

Audio playback through Exec speakers: Hardware issue?

I recently upgraded from the XDA II to the XDA Exec.
I'm experiencing a recurring (about every 5 seconds) glitch when using WMP to play back audio files (standard .wav files), stored on an SD card, through the Exec speakers. Playback through the earphones is fine.
I've tried another Exec and the speakers problem is still there, making playback of SD audio files through the Exec speakers unusable. This was never a problem with the XDA II.
I'm just wondering is this a problem with *all* Execs or is there something I've overlooked. If anyone out there has experienced smooth playback of audio files (from an SD card) through the Exec speakers I'd be grateful to hear.
Thanks in advance.
i use WMA files without a problem from SD card. why use WAV? aren't they huge? maybe you're not listening to music then.
i use a wave file as a sms alert on my jasjar and sometimes it sounds like it is stuttering. But only like 25% of the time that a sms comes thru. The file is stored in the device it self and not on a sdcard. thought that it might be related to the amount of programs running in the background.
Audio playback on Exec
Thanks a lot for replies.

I've tried both WMA files and WAV files: same Exec speaker playback problem (recurring glitch) with both. Interesting to learn that you don't have this problem with WMA files on your device. Is the Imate device identical in every hardware respect to the Exec? As yet I haven't come across, or heard about, an Exec which plays audio smoothly (from an SD card) through the Exec speakers.
Re. WMA vs Wav vs MP3 I occasionally use WAV because, while admittedly the file size is very large, the WAV format, being uncompressed, preserves the CD quality of the original (i.e. stereo, 16-bit sample resolution, 44.1kHz sample rate).

It's playback from an SD card that concerns me as I'd like to be able to store favourite tracks (and possibly my whole audio collection) as WMA or WAV files on an SD card, especially as SD capacities increase to 4GB and 8GB ......
I'd be very grateful if someone with an *O2 XDA Exec* wouldn't mind trying the following and reporting on if it worked for you:
1) Put an audio file (mp3 or wma or wav) on to an SD card
2) Insert the SD card into your Exec and play the audio file back through the Exec speakers using Windows Media Player
Thanks in advance.
Just tried some mp3's from an SD card on my Exec.
They play fine - no glitches, but quality from the speakers leaves rather a lot to be desired. I normally use earphones.
Reteb
Thanks a lot Reteb. Much appreciated.
Tried some mp3 & wav files on Exec, no problems at all. They all play fine over the speakers.
Many thanks Reteb and Yen for testing SD-based audio playback through the Exec speakers. I'm going to go back in and get another Exec and hope for the best! At least I now know that, whatever the problem was, it's not a hardware issue across all Execs.
For the record this is exactly what I did:
1. I put some audio files (wav and wma) on to two different SD cards (a Sandisk card and an SD card I bought from Expansys). There was nothing else on the SD cards.
2. I tried both SD cards in my XDA II. No problem with playback of the audio files (using WMP) through the XDA II's speaker.
3. I then tried both SD cards in *two* Execs. No problem with playback through the earphones but a recurring glitch when playing back the files through the Exec speakers.
Hey I did also and had no problem and infact before now from last 4 months I've been listening with XDA Exec (O²) speakers and never noticed any problem except it doesnt have enough BASS as I'd like to have rest is fine !

Music skips?

Ive loaded a few cds worth of music on my memory card and the music skips with htc audio manager and wmp. IIRC I ripped these at a high variable bit rate.
Any suggestions?
I was thinking of a bluetooth stereo headset but it isnt worth the cost if the music is just going to play this poorly.
I tried playing one of the files directly from the device, still skipped
Now this is odd.
I googled music skipping and ran across a review that mentioned turning on airplane mode to stop the music skipping when sprint was searching for a network. I tried that, music ran fine, then turned airplane mode off, got the replog.exe error I get every now and then and the music still played fine.
I repeated airplane mode on,off got no replog error and still playing fine so far. I'll try it when I'm out and see if there's a difference.
Would making the pagepool size larger help?
argggh - already skipping on another song before I can even get out the door.
and now my storage card is reading gibberish again so audio manager cant detect files
** turns out that airplane mode doesnt always turn on when you click it. Now that I verify the signal meters have an x it appears to have eliminated the skipping.
Is there a solution that doesnt turn the phone and bluetooth functions off?

What are you using to play these songs? What other programs do you have installed? I used to have a similar problem. At the time I had PCM keybord was installed and running and using HTC AudioManager. Changing the PCM keyboard to another input method would fix the problem. I think with the new version of PCM keyboard I don't experience that anymore.playing listenning to music. Also Install anewer version of HTC AudioMnanager.
Definitely get the BlueTooth headset. its excellent.

I've had the problem with WMP and HTC audio manager. I contacted Sprint and they said it was a known problem and HTC is working on it and they would notify me when that fix was available. We shall see.
It plays fine for music at work. I just need an 8gb card and bluetooth headset. I'm liking the jaybird but we shall see, it's going to be awhile before I can toss down the coin.
ps. I use touchpal
Maybe not the headset. Do Podcasts or streaming audo do the same?
use android?? (if i did somehow get you to use android, go with nand, sd card method sucks)
pro's: more games, apps, widgets, music works, etc
con's: no mms, suckish camera, can't really play videos (do they play fine in winmo?)
those are the only ones i have

Headphone Issues & microsd card.

After I unlocked my phone I am having problems with my headphones. Unable to hear music using the HTC headset adapter. Got it from ebay. Used it with my xv6900, so I know it should work. Also when I use the Windows Media Player to listen to music, it takes 5 seconds to switch tracks. Don't know if i have a bad sd card or what. Anyone have problems with this.
Any comments or suggestions much appreciated.
Thanks.

[Q] SM -N9005 International model sound problem

Hi
I updated my SM-N9005 International non-rooted model to official Android 4.4.2 over Kies3.
After the update my device is putting out sound from its loudspeaker and headphones at the same time. It can not be an application problem because I have tried different apps (PlayerPro, MX Player, Samsungs native music player and other media playback apps) but the issue is still there. After a restart its fine for the first time I use an app and after that it starts butting the sound out from the speaker and the headphones again.
Does anyone have the same problem?
Has anyone found a solution?
Thanks in advance!

Media Player is not working at 7.0 custom rom

Music are playing at 2x speed while playing it via youtube, stock music player, vlc etc. No change after headphone is inserted. How can it be fixed? Pls. help. Thanks to kotzir for his hard work. Will be grateful if you help me with this issue
