Notification LED - Droid Turbo 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I just noticed that there is a green notification led, does anyone know how to enable it or if it is able to be enabled? I saw it when i plugged in my charger and then it immediately disappeared so I am not even sure what it is used for. Any insight would be helpful

There is another thread on the LED.
But, at this point it is a low battery indicator as there is not enough power for the screen.
No one has found a way to use it otherwise.

[Q] indicator light

does anyone know if the arc has an indicator light (when receiving txt or emails) like the xperia x10?
Yes it does if I remember correctly, it is located on the top left above the screen.

from what I have seen it has 2 indicator lights.
One on the top left as you said...and the other on the right hand side of the phone above the micro usb slot.

+1...it has become a requirement when getting a new phone..
makes life simpler instead of turning on the screen everytime....as they say it's the small things in life that make a difference.

Trying to convince my wife about that for years now....:lol
An indicator is unmissable. Especially at work...

Yeah, I noticed a second purple one above the micro USB that was flickering then the phone reset, with the same image Chrome gives

So true, often turns out its the small things that sell the device.

[Q] How to turn off the LED light of the function keys?

While reading in night, the LED light of the 4 function keys(at the bottom of Vibrant) is really dazzling.
Anyone knows how to turn it off just by software mod?
Thanks in adv.
Black electrical tape over it
Wear sunglasses to bed?
Seriously though, when I'm reading ebooks with Aldiko, the backlight only comes on during page flips....for all of about a quarter of a second....if that.
I don't know of any software mod to change the timeout period. The Epic4G has a setting for this I believe. Best of luck...
Thanks anyway.
Still waiting......

Use a black sharpie marker. Problem solved
I don't think there is a way to do that as of yet. Maybe you should ask one of thê devs or post this concern in the development section. Ignore the a-holes.

Half of phone merged into water

Hey guys. My girl dropped her phone in a cup of water. Halfway the phone was in it. So the screen wont come off but the led blinks red. I have the phone on a bowl of rice. Been there for 12 hours. Still wont come on but it vibrates and the red light blinks. I was wondering if that is what would called lights of death? So what you guys recommend? Leave the phone on rice more time? Open it?

Buy a new phone. It's likely fried.

Blinking red light means the battery is too low to start the phone up
Follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250454
You might as well clean up any moisture that might be present inside while you're doing that
You're fault for having a girl
You'll probably have to replace a few things. Check YouTube for an N4 teardown video.
Alternatively, you could sell it for about $150 on eBay and cut your losses.

Forgot to mention. Kids talk your childish comments somewhere else. The screen wont come on. Will put it on charge all night tonight. I was just wondering if the phone can be save though the led light comes on. Then the phone should be fine right?

If it does get past the red light, you may still have more issues with the device, but it should at least attempt to boot.

Cant get past the red light. Its been 5 days now and now the red light flashes when its plugged in. Not sure if it will ever come to life. I tried to go into recovery and nothing. I wonder if its bricked completely. But its a shame that I couldnt save it. Maybe a JTAG repair may fix it
You might have to do the fix where you open the phone and manually charge the battery. Someone posted a link to that thread in this thread already, just go to the 1st post of that thread.

[Q] green light while charging

hello all
my n4 got wet two days ago. since friday i didn't manage to power it on.
today, after i opened it and put it in a bowl of dry rice (heard it can absorb the fluids) i connected it to the charger and after i pressed the power button for few seconds it the green led light popped, but turned off after few seconds. when i press it for few sec and it turns on and afrterwards turns off.
now it's connected and i managed to keep the green light on for the last 0.5 hour. do i still have a chance to save it and what should i do, or it lost?
i'll mention i don't have an app about the lights and didn't root my phone. i also looked it up in the forum and didn't find a similar problem.
thank you very much for the effort.
You should of placed it in rice has soon has possible.
The green LED means fully charged.
When you mean by turns on do you mean it shows the Google splash screen and if so then when does it come off?

Then it seems that the water damaged some components but somehow the phone does switch on for a bit with a working LED, does the screen light up when switching on?

If I were you I would try rooting the phone and installing Slimbean or another rom that lets you disable the LED light. That could shut it off for good hopefully unless the LED lost all connection to the motherboard and it's only getting power now.

Pixel XL issues and defects

Probably not the best type of thread but it's for anyone who has faced any issues or defects with Pixel XL. When I'm expected to fork out £819 for a top end of phone I don't really expect any types of defects.
Overall I'm quite pleased with the phone but I've noticed the pulse notification light is bit odd. Green colour is perfect but red or orange colours show as white and pink!!!
I'm sure that's not how it's supposed to be?
I've reported this to google who are looking into it and will get back to me.
Anyone else tested any features which aren't as expected or noticed any defects please let us know.
The power button feels weird, like it doesn't wanna press unless I push a certain way. Might be just me, though
There's a dead pixel on the left hand side of my screen. I've tried to ignore it, but it's really bothering me. I think I'm just going to return it and hope that the replacement doesn't take months to arrive.

I second that replace it, not worth it riding more dead pixels. I'm returning my black one due to notification light issue.

That doesn't sound right to me, power button on both my silver and black can be pushed from any angle or part and it works.

I don't know how to test LED light, is it turned off with ambient display?
my only issue so far is the lack of double tap to wake. The phone is super fast and responsive. I'm at work, so I can't play too much, but damn is it going to get used all night.

Going into settings, notifications then tap on the settings icon and toggle on pulse notification light.
Took me a while to figure.
I couldn't find option to change colour so installed light manager to switch between different colours.

Is anyone having problems with very slow 4G speeds? Compare to my Samsung Galaxy S7 and the speed on this phone for the 4G networks is very slow I wonder why that is
is there anyway to get a charging LED? always liked to be able to see how charged my phone is by a quick glance without having to keep turning the screen on.

After some exhaustive testing against my Samsung Galaxy S 7 Edge I concluded that the upload speed using 4G with the pixel XL is about 10% of that of the Galaxy S 7 Edge I wonder why that is and I hope that it will be an update to the modem that will fix this problem I would love to hear from the rest of you what kind of upload speeds you are getting using the 4G network with your new pixel XL phone thank you very much for your help

Mine is actually a tiny bit higher than my wife's note 5. My download was a 1.5 slower though. Same server same network. This is on Verizon btw.
