Is there someone willing to deal with a costumed M ROM for kltechnduo? - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Right, it's a China duos s5.It was not very expensive but I may not receive marshmallow update.(?)I love recent Android so I am looking forward to 6.0. Samsung's updates are too awful to drive users mad, especially China version. It's awful to have no Google apps, awful to have few ROMs.I saw unofficial cm13 for klte, can I modify it for my phone? What can i do?

Android 7.0

Guys Motorola just released list of devices that will be officially supported for Android 7.0.Unfortunately Moto Turbo did not make into that list. Now i see no chances in future too Although Droid Turbo 2 made into that list
The Droid Turbo is still waiting on Marshmallow, let alone Nougat. Its international model, the Maxx, didn't even get MM until earlier this year. We'll probably be lucky if we get official MM at all.
Speaking of which, the Maxx isn't on the list either, which doesn't bode well. Probably going to have to wait and hope someone builds CM14 for our phone, if you want Nougat.
CM14 (Nougat) will come for Quark

You are referring to this updated Nougat device list from Motorola:
http://motorola-blog.blogspot.co.uk/2016/10/n-is-for-nougat-android-70-is-coming-to.html
There was an earlier list 3 months ago, with more devices to be added at a "later date". Yeah, no Quark phones made the updated list.
Of course, the Droid Turbo XT1254 made the Motorola "Marshmallow" list back on October 2, 2015 but Verizon deigned not release it to Droid Turbo owners (yet or maybe ever).

That someone is our CM dev @Skrilax_CZ, and he has already committed to that.
Quark got Lollipop before Motorola gave it to us (March 2014 vs April 2015), Marshmallow before Motorola gave it to us (February 2016 vs July 2016) and will get Nougat. He's just waiting until nightlies for any CM14 ROM starts rolling out.

Then, after Quark CM14 -- especially the kernel work -- other ROMs can build on that framework. We have 7 custom Marshmallow ROMs for the Quark (maybe 8 depending on how you count) -- they work on ALL Quarks, thanks to our CM dev. '
No reason we won't have just as many Nougat based ROMs.
Here's hoping that CM14 fixes the signal issues of CM13
I unlocked my bootloader (SU4TL-49) but now puzzled if I should wait for CM14 or install CM13 now...
I am new to installing a custom ROM and don't know if it is worth the time to install a soon-to-be outdated ROM.
Also, if the recommendation will be to still install now, which ROM to get. Just sick of Verizon and Motorola crap.
Thanks

Install now. CM13 (Marshmallow) was in "beta"/preview the first month. (And that "first month" for CM14 Quark ROM may not be until November.) Whereas CM12.1 (Lollipop) was rock solid. I didn't switch to a Marshmallow ROM for awhile, from CM12.1.
Go with the stable ROM (CM13) or other Marshmallow ROM for now. You can always change by end of the year.
You may even like Marshmallow Bliss or Resurrection Remix ROMs better than CM13. They seem to be the two most popular right now.
Edit: changed a word with a synonym so it would be understood without a negative connotation:
I'm typically a cyanogenmod fan and I used cm on this device since it was stable until a few weeks ago.
I'm currently rocking marshmallow Nexus experience rom, but before I go back to cm13 I'm going to try mokee.
Resurrection remix and bliss are filled with features. This is NOT a bad thing it is just features I hold little interest in and I keep finding myself just going back to cm.
Nexus experience doesn't screen cast right. Other than that it works great.
Cm13 doesn't pass Android pay or Pokemon go security checks. Rooting is NOT enough. So if you use either app my recommendation is Resurrection remix, Nexus experience or stock brazil marshmallow without volte
ALL Roms other than stock lollipop based Roms do NOT support volte (data during phone calls)
ChazzMatt and mrkhigh,
I can't thank you enough for quick and detailed responses!
Sounds great, I'll do some more reading on those roms and decide which one to get.
Thanks!

Bliss isn't "bloated", it has the smallest footprint of any ROM I've built or used. And it reboots in under 30 seconds, my Keurig isn't that fast. @bhb27 is constantly working on RR, and it's the most popular/downloaded ROM we have, no doubt about it.
VoLTE is something you have to sacrifice in order to use a custom ROM. bhb is trying to fix that too, but unfortunately, he lives in Brazil and is not a VZW customer.
I know that you know what you're talking about (been around long enough to see that), but to say Bliss is "bloated"...
My apologies. You took it wrong... I said it was bloated with features.... Meaning lots and lots of features.
They are features I don't use. So for me they are by definition 'bloat' but i did then say that's not a bad thing.
Probably a poor choice of words since it is often used negatively. Kinda like the word ignorant sounds bad but it would be completely correct to say "I'm ignorant in Pascal coding."
Bliss is an amazing rom. Just like cm rr and mokee.

Edited statement above so nobody else would mistake what I was trying to say. It now reads filled

Words are funny like that, yes? Everyone has their own opinion when it comes to a custom ROM (good thing we have many to choose from, lol), I just misinterpreted your meaning of "bloat", so: My apologies to you as well :highfive:

I've been considering leaving CM13 do I can use Android Pay and Pokemon Go(my son loves to play) which ROM do you recommend, Nexus experience or Brazilian stock? Which one is less hassle to get those apps working?

Neither. If you want those things, you'll need to install the latest official Motorola release for your Droid Turbo, and nothing else. The latest update to SafetyNet broke the workarounds that were used in CM-based ROMS (Brazilian stock never passed SafetyNet at all, even without root or xposed installed). I think suhide might still work, but only on a stock marshmallow ROM that passes SafetyNet, and we don't have that.
EDIT: Never mind. I might be wrong about all of that. Check out Resurrection Remix. The dev has added a companion app called iSu that works as of 3 days ago for hiding root (stock CM root, do not install SuperSU), and apparently it passes safetynet.
JFYKI, I haven't tried out Bliss yet but I noticed that ROM size is 330mb for Bliss while RR is 273mb. I am quite satisfied with latest version of RR on XT1254.
The size of the system partition, if I'm not mistaken and assuming you have not manually resized it, is about 3 GB. So I'm pretty sure neither Bliss nor RR is going to fill that up anytime soon. But if you can somehow fill up that partition with mods that need over 10 times the space of the base OS, you are my hero.
The system partition is 1.94gb and I haven't ever resized the partition. With stock based ROMs, I was struggling with space on system partition. You're correct that with almost everything installed that I need, there's still 500+mb available.

RR is your best bet. Use the iSU app and you can "keep" root
I'm currently using it due to that exact reason.
With nexus you'll have to simply "unroot" I left that ROM because face book kept locking up?!
And I would ASSUME the Brazil ROM would work out of the box since I do not believe it includes root.
Resurrection remix works just fine
Fwiw I think Brazil ROM no root would be a great choice as well. Nexus was buggy with Facebook for some reason but unrooted it passed safety net
Cm13 will NOT pass even unrooted. No idea why.
Brazilian does not play nice with Xposed...

Hello morning..

my question .. will Note 4 get update Nougat 7.0 Official?

No. This is extremely unlikely, as the model is more than two years old now. It was unlikely that Note 4 received update to MM at all.

but will be have CM 14
Cm 14 Might only come for snapdragon variants .
Reporting via N910G.
already struggling with mm , still update nougat ?
According to Samsung's policy, flagship devices are likely to have only 2 years of software updating while our device has just passed that amount of life time, thus, no more major Android update, security patches may still be delivered. (Note 4 has many major Android updates over time, from 4.4 KitKat to the 6.0.1 Marshmallow). Again, this is the biggest problem with Android where software updating is limited, especially for non flagship devices.
From now on, our only hope of getting latest Android version is through unofficial way, CM14, AOSP are our best friends, we only need to give our devs a great support and they'll help our phone to survive one more day. Be optimistic guy

Thank u bro... its very good information for me .... thansks..:good:
We won't be receiving N officially, but we will probably get some version of cm14 (as advised by @yashthemw)
But I also strongly think we will start to see s7 ports of N as beta N just dropped for them over the last couple of days.
So wouldn't be surprised if we see a ported version to our device some time over coming months.
I'm gutted we lost our AICP maintainer ? would love to have seen AICP N running, MM is running buttery smooth with great battery life for me. But we need to sort out our cm14 branch first.
i think so

Unless there is an official nougat release for Note 4(which will never happen), there is almost zero possibility of getting an nougat port, remember note 4 & note 5 are entirely different devices & it would take a lot of time of do something like this & even then stability might not be there, although there are already many Note 7 ports available, which contains exactly same functionality, but all are & most likely will be marshmallow only, if you want nougat, Lineage Os & other roms based on it are your best shot.

The Note 3 is not upgradeable to TouchWiz Marshmallow, but there are rom ports that are touchwiz marshmallow for that device, besides, I don't quite remember the dates, but, I think the note 4 had Note 5 ports based on marshmallow even before having official marshmallow.
According to this, I don't see why someone couldn't port nougat touchwiz based rom without it being LinageOS rom.

Let's see, personally i don't think it would happen, Even if it does, its will never be as stable as Marshmallow without official nougat firmware & it'sā€‹ a time consuming process, besides if you follow the threads , you can see that none of the devs have shown any interest so far in doing the same, they are supporting note4 for a long time & have moved on to other devices & note 3 has a much active development community than note 4 , so, no point in comparing these two.

I agree on that, even if it's possible to port, it wouldn't be as stable as an official update. And yes, note 3 development is much bigger than note 4's, and the exynos variant is not a huge interest to developers, as snapdragon is much easier to work on.
Maybe someone will port note 5 nougat, but it wouldn't be in a near future, or stable either, or have the desired support we want.
I'm afraid the kernel and bootloader will be the main issue here. The N4 is stuck with M kernel and bootloader, which is very likely be the dead end to this potential project. Plus the M firmware would most likely not work with the new Nougat software. One can only try but I think stability and performance wouldn't be optimal even if the port was able to actually boot and run with the M firmwares of the N4. This is why dev's are not jumping on this with enthusiasm. This is likely a no win situation and since it takes so much time and work porting these newer TW software, it's simply not worth it to do this for little to no reward other than self pride. It's definitely not enough to persuade me to take this on but I may try and see if I can get a booting TW nougat rom on my N4. A lot has changed in the Nougat framework so I have very high doubts but you never know.

Is there a [PORT] of the A300FU stock [Android M] working for A300F?

I'm currently searching for a port of A300FU Android M version, also working for a A300F.
Is there any such version?
Or a reason why there shouldn't be one?
There isn't one, as of yet, but I don't see why there couldn't be, aside of it being somewhat difficult to do it for TouchWiz ROMs.
Just asking because, I've till now, not come across a non-stock (CM or Lineage)version for the A3 (2015), where the encryption still seems works. And I guess since the A310-series uses no Qualcomm chip anymore, there would be some issues trying to use a port of these unless they are specifically modded to work with other hardware components and firmware :crying:
And I really want to have a version where the encryption works, otherwise I would probably buy next year just a new one and try my luck with some XPosed modules and root access instead and keep the Google integration for the better or worse >.<

Regarding Oreo Update for Moto G4 PLus

Hello members,
Good day,
I'm using moto g4 plus,
Few days unofficial oreo rom urged to users with some flaws,
Its a quite long time, I have been waiting for official lineage oreo rom for moto g4 plus,
Can I know when the official rom or successfully working rom will come to device?
Will official oreo update come to stock roms?
Thank You,
Official Oreo has been confirmed by moto, just don't expect it soon. Even flagship devices like Samsung S8 will get Oreo around early 2018, so I'm thankful we're getting it at all. Considering our g4 plus is a cheap device, seeing 2 major software updates is great value. I'm hoping we get it by March 2018.
3rd party rom developers are releasing Oreo in alpha stage, so bugs will be expected. They are doing a great job since I assume they have to struggle with things like proprietary drivers, etc. Still, I have yet to come across a good rom for our device apart from stock even for nougat. But if you're feeling adventurous, please do try out the unofficial Oreo roms, your feedback would surely help the developers and the community.
