Better than what, stock android? It's really hard to explain "what it is" exactly, I'd suggest researching it.

Just think of it this way...you can install modules (tweaks) that do different things. It's not available for Android M yet.

It let's you install modules that tweak the ui, save snapchat snaps, Instagram photos, hide root from apps, tons of stuff

It's a way of getting most of the benefits of a custom ROM while still running stock, and being able to pick and choose which of those added features that you want.

Essentially, it hooks into the framework of the ROM you're running at a low enough level to provide modifications that standard apps don't provide. Using it requires Permissive SELinux, and right now Marshmallow doesn't have that. "Is it better?" is an illogical question, as there's nothing like it against which we can compare. It is good to have as an option, though, because it can allow for things on nearly any ROM that the ROM creator might not have thought or opted not to put into his ROM. Another thing that is useful from Xposed is the ability to hide whether or not your phone is rooted on an app-by-app basis. This allows apps such as Google Wallet (Android Pay) to function in their entirety regardless of the state of the phone. Long story short: We want it.

Disabeling apps. Feature from ICS

Is this the best new feature in ICS:
https://plus.google.com/u/0/112413860260589530492/posts/DDTKFhiDS9U?hl=en
Disabling Apps
ICS adds the ability to disable an app outright. Don't like an app that came preinstalled? Disable it! Its resources never run and its launcher icon is gone until you re-enable it. (This doesn't free up any space -- it can't, since pre-installed apps are included in the read-only system storage. But it does put them "out of sight, out of mind.")
Wonders if this will work in TW too, or if Samsung somehow disables this feature as Android is open source?
If only there were some other ICS threads in the Samsung Galaxy II area of the forums where this kind of stuff might already be!
Instead of speculating about whether an as yet unreleased feature works for your phone, why not just root and freeze/uninstall apps you don't want?
You're free to skip reading the thread... ;-)
No, I won't root yet, therefore I hope this feature will survive to our phones. And, what are the chances for that?
Is this feature available in the betas out now?

It is not recommended to disable some of the apps as it might cause your phone to freeze and not updating on the fly.

Will HALO ever be ported/compatible with TouchWiz based ROMs?

Is it even possible?
I know there is XFloatingHalo Xposed Module.... but I'm talking about the legit/real HALO!

Exchange security disabled [Request]

Just come from an HTC One (unplanned dive into the toilet) to the G2, and am loving it, only thing missing for me is a mod to disable security exchange policies (have tried the 2 available in the Downloads section of Xposed but neither work), it would be great (and worthy of a donation from me) if someone could develop a mod that would disable the security policies for Exchange, for the G2, thanks
Very interested in this as well
really hope someone picks this up...hate the pin code entry thing everytime I open my G2!
+1

Did you try the Wanam Kit 1.3.0? It works well for me, I'm on the latest CM 11 nightly (D800).
If you are on AOSP, this is the one I use and it's always worked for me.

on stock 4.2.2 wanam does not work unfortunately...
I have been using these 2 for a long time first on my gnex and now on my lg g2.
Remove existing email using titanium
Reboot
Install exchange, install email app
I normally clear cache and data on each apps
And then set them up
Works like a charm all though it is an older version of the email app.

Yep this works for me currently on my rooted at&t LG G2. If you want to bypass the exchange policies you should just go ahead and root. Its much more straight forward.
Would be great if someone could take the newer versions of email apks and mod them but the ones supplied above work 100% many thanks again.

root p600?

I was wondering whether should I root my note or wait for new update? And then root it?
I see no current reason to root. The device is smooth and apps perform fine. I use Nova UI, which also use on all my Android devices.

What about battery? Won't improve battery usage?
I always root right away. Its not that hard to manually install an OTA update. That's what I always do and just re root if it looses root.

Would the currently used root method work for 4.4?

AdAway, Multi Window, and Pen Window managers, as well as Xposed + Wanam modules are very worth it IMO.

Greenify is a root program that freezes chosen apps when they are not in use.

Keep an eye on Samsung Watchon. I have caught it chewing up CPU several times now. It may have been the widget causing it, so I removed that and will see if it stops it from happening.

why should i root my phone

What are some good reason to root my phone
Backing up stuff.
Audio mods like viper fx audio, dolby atmos
Battery savers like greenify, amplify, naptime
Xposed framework
Adblockers
Iytbp (youtube with backround player)
Dual stereo speaker mod
Kernel managers so you can underclock or overclock the cpu
And much more stuff!
Some examples:
AdAway - ad blocker
Titanium - backups
TWRP (no root required but you have to unlock bootloader) - nandroid backups
BetterBatteryStats - as its name states
Magisk Manager - If rooted with Magisk, you can install cool modules
Xposed framework - the best customizations with Gravity Box and 100s of interesting modules
SD Maid - deep clean your device
There are some battery savers which I don't use but are popular such as Amplify and Grenify
Tasker - almost forgot this one, you can automate a lot of actions when meeting conditions (such as automatically enabling WiFi and connecting to a network in a specific location, open a specific app when connecting headphones, enable location when opening a specific app, etc.)
Also, you can install kernel managers, theme your device and have some additional app features only available for rooted users. Maybe rooting is not as popular as it used to be because current stock ROMs allow you to perform some stuff that you could not do on past versions of Android, but I still find it useful.

Oh sorry. Thought you were OP. But there is no other answer for that. You can root your phone and have many things you can do.
Or just leave it stock as it is and enjoy it.

The best reason is that you can improve the performance of OOS by using a custom kernel and tweaking the settings. I'm personally not a fan of Xposed at all and would steer clear of it unless you actually have a very specific reason to install it. You don't want to install Xposed and then hope you will find a use for it because Xposed can cause a lot of problems. If you use Magisk to root your phone you might find some useful modules. I like the one that allows Google Play Services to go into doze.

The sound might be good, but not even close to what viper can give you.
A non rooted OP5 is good, but a rooted one a lot better.

There has to be a reason to flash a custom rom, and for me there isnt any right now.
But this is what android world is, flashing, experimenting, making devices better and interesting each day.
If rom bugs scare you, there is another world of IOS. [emoji4]
