Soak test now rolling out for moto g 3rd gen users !
Source - http://www.techdroider.com/2015/11/moto-g-3rd-gen-getting-marshmallow-soak-test.html

As good as it is to see the soak test. Slapping your site's logo on images taken from a Google+ post ( https://plus.google.com/+ajmalkhadar/posts/1vQg85FbHPy ) and then posting here and in reddit to plug your site is sad. I hope this post just gets deleted.

Yes they did this to some of my screenshots to...

Was anyone able to pull off the soak test update...? ?

Hi! If you don't have a zip, you can install TWRP and create a backup of your system /boot and upload the zip. Others can restore using this backup and enjoy marshmallow

Not only that when you agree to be a tester you agree to not say anything. That includes posting screenshots, talking about it, or even just saying "I got the soak test!". Sad when a couple people ruin a good thing for the rest by posting and sharing details about a confidential process. I wouldn't be surprised to see Moto pull it, and keep it in house instead of using actual consumers to test.

This is most annoying. I hate when I see it too. There's only been one time where I openly acknowledged that I was part of a SOAK, and that was a few weeks after it ended.
Tapped out from my Motorola Droid Turbo, featuring Android 5.1. Please pardon my brevity.

Somebody will leak it. Always do. Patience

They sent me invite 2 days back... So if i get selected then do they send mail regarding that... If so then how long it takes them to mail me

Enviado desde mi XT1040 mediante Tapatalk

It's sad how the guys simply ignore the confidential agreement they signed when they went selected to the test
=(

Wellllllllll first lol you've found yourself in the moto G 2015 forums, not nexus 7.
Second, many people are curious as to moto G 2015 getting 6.0, it does suck that users who do get invited to the soak test ruin it by posting stuff.

WTF Tapatalk!??! I view this and it shows Nexus 7 2013. I really, really hate tapatalk. I've never even looked at this sub-forum in the past, so it's not even an accident. Ugh.

Sorry to bring up old thread, but didn't want to start a new one.
I am on virgin mobile xt1548 and just got an email and survey for new software to test, so I assume this is considered a soak.
I answered the survey and it said I was most likely going to be eligible.
My question is will a soak test be pushed as an OTA?
I am currently running cm13 so I know I will need to revert to stock ROM and recovery. Just curious about the procedure as I've never been included in such a test.
Thanks in advance

Soak
I would think you want to be stock for that. Wonder if it's 6.0.1 I'm also with Virgin Mobile nice to see they are finally getting around to it

Yes, it will come OTA and you're right about needing to be completely stock. If you've used the unlocked bootloader fix that shouldn't matter or at least it didn't for me on the soak tests I've done.

I'm positive I need stock, just curious if it would just show up one day or if Motorola would send a link to download.
It would be nice to see 6.0 on virgin, but honestly I would most definitely go back to cm.
In the survey they asked if I was on virgin mobile and there was a disclaimer that I could not contact my carrier if I had issues, as it would be a software test. They also said i t was confidential, so I've probably voided that by now lol.

Virgin Mobile OTA Soak Test
Just like hossman, I have been choosen for a soak for my Virgin Mobile Moto g 2015.

Hopefully, this means bug free implementation of 6.0 . Glad it's finally arriving. Curious but did you guys sign up with Motorola to be testers?

We need your support - T-Mobile/Samsung - Give us an update!

If you want more information on this topic please visit the new, redone, 'We Need Your Support' thread at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1427969
We have gotten no news of any kind of update for our Samsung Vibrants. No Gingerbread update, not even a small 2.2.1 update, and I honestly believe that's just plain wrong. This has nothing to do with this phone being too slow or too old to run Gingerbread, heck.. it can even run Ice Cream Sandwich. And before you stop reading, no.. this isn't one of those threads that is just posted to complain, we have to do something about this. Maybe some people don't care for an update, maybe some don't understand what an actual OFFICIAL update could do for us users and devs. The lack of support for this device from both T-Mobile and Samsung has been horrible. Ask a representative from T-Mobile about an update, they'll say; Oh, It's coming.. Samsung is working on it. Ask a representative from Samsung about an update, they'll say; It's being worked on.. no ETA. So now, either both of the companies are clueless of their own product, and honestly don't know what is going on, or they just won't give us a straight.. 'No, you won't be getting an update.' which I think is dumb. I got hooked on Android because of it's openness, the support and the community. One of the only major updates that we got was through KIES, it wasn't even OTA. Maybe most of you don't care, but T-Mobile and Samsung should do right by us. I don't care about getting the latest and the greatest, I honestly would respect both Samsung and T-Mobile more if they gave us a straight answer.
So, what I'm asking is.. please help us by signing this petition and spreading the link wherever you can, because we have the power to fight this, we have the numbers and we can do it. This phone isn't super old, it's one of the best phones I've owned. Samsung did a great job with it, but that gives them no reason to stop supporting it. I got this on a two year contract, they should atleast support it for two years, and simply because it's in the Android spirit.
Link here: http://www.change.org/petitions/bri...-s-varients-samsungt-mobile-give-us-an-update
Please feel free to spread it on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, anywhere you see fit! If we get some headline news on Android blogs and sites, that'd be great, too!
Samsung and T-Mobile, we need an answer.
Will be signing this petition in the morning.
signed, guys common we need ALL of the vibrant members to do this.

I agree, but use US adresses. This phone US only.
I think we should write about the situation in each posts in all official T-mobile Facebook, Google+, .... pages.
People need to know about T-mobile poor support and poor attitude to customers.

But like I said, keep posting, tweeting it, sharing it.
It's our turn to get something.
Great idea! I hope this will make a difference.
Signed. Really hoping we get somewhere, but won't be putting any money on it
signed and sent the link to galaxy s twitter account..they should also know what is going on
Just signed it. Also, someone should contact neobuddy89 and ask him put a link to this petition in his ICS Passion v9.1 ROM thread. If that were done then this petition will gain a lot more recognition from the community because so many people visit that thread daily.

Hopefully someone will be able to either crack ot or bypass it like the G2. In a way LG have a point, it's easy to be stupid and brick your phone like I have done in the past, and basicly rob them of £500 for a brand new device because of the users mistake haha

Yeah that's the unfortunate truth. I'm hoping for an unlocked bootloader but for now I'm happy we have root. Xposed framework keeps me occupied
Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk
LG see's liability.. I see revenue opportunity. make the phone so that no matter what it's re-programmable. LG can detect root/bootloader modification, and reimage the phone completely to factory for a "small fee" Carriers can even do this.
LG will learn in time as HTC did. I'm hoping they will come to their senses and unlock the BL, however I have a feeling the dev's will have a solution for us first

I'm really hoping for it...
if the lg decision will remain in the future this is maybe my last lg device.
hopefully nexus will get sd card anytime back or sony`s bezels will get thinner in the future!
so at now we could only hope for team codefire to get an unlock for our G3 working and for future devices we have to raise the petition to show LG that unlock is important enough for the customers for choosing their devices!
This seems to be the pattern with all new devices. That's too bad...
I'm confident that the devs will find a way to unlock the boot loader eventually. Also, didn't LG confirm that they're working on and will release a unlock system similar to HTC? I'm sure that's farther away than the dev unlock, but it should prove less troublesome in the future. Frankly, for me this is the first Android phone that I've owned where I don't feel the need to install a custom rom, mainly due to LG's light touch. Root access (stump) and the G3 tweakbox are all I need right now.
I'm so sorry that I gave so much money for this device,no more LG

Yes. Hello. For those who have followed my "ignorant" and "arrogant" post of release date on the 17, I apologize. I did not receive my Galaxy Note 4 (Obviously) however *side note, I did receive my iPhone 6 Plus 128GB on Verizon wireless business account on Friday* Moving on, since officially the White Galaxy Note 4 ships on the Oct 31, will most people go into the store next Thursday and purchase the white or Black. For those who already purchased the White online at Verizon, will you cancel your white order and walk in or wait for 31st.

You just read in this post that droid turbo will skip right to N after the release of M and L. Furthermore, sources say that it will be released after collaboration between VZW and Motorola. You heard it here first.
I really laughed when I read the title
Nope. Moto is pushing the turbo right to N! As soon as it's built, tested and launched..oh ya! Moto definitely did not completely forget or stop caring about the turbo.

Lets look at this logically for a second.
Why would a Chinese site report on an American carrier and phone?
http://www.yibada.com/
Now, logic aside, lets look at the source.

Wait, pure speculation, including the final name of M? Heh.
This is the same site that has been making up crap like Lollipop is currently rolling out. They have since modified their articles, probably from the backlash they got from it. Twice they said Lollipop was rolling out, once in December, and again at the beginning of the year. Both times, wrong.
There are a few rings of websites that all link to each other and use each other as sources to increase their position on google and generate revenue from ads. They either make up stuff or copy from other, legit sites. Don't fall for these tricks and don't give them traffic

My thoughts are you don't want that to happen.
Verizon would give the Droid Turbo "M" SIX months after M is named and released (sometime in 2016). Do you want to wait that long?
MEANWHILE, the 2015 Quark follow up would already be on the market, if there is one.

Great news guys you're gonna swallow your words about lollipop and you are gonna love it
By all means, please keep sharing who gets invites. Even better if you use the same handle on the Motorola forums!
Everyone in this thread should be ashamed. You are breaking NDA with Moto by talking about this in public. I do hope that you are removed from the soak and kicked out of the MFN.
It says we aren't allowed to discuss what is actually in the soak test, not that we can't mention it exists.

You are wrong. If you join the soak, you are saying you will not talk about it in public, period. You also electronically sign an NDA stating the same thing when you originally sign up for the MFN.

Motorola and Verizone should be ashamed for having lied to their users!

They want to make a mystery out of nothing. It is ridiculous!
Yes there is about keeping private but that won't stop people from leaking it and spreading it.
Hooooly **** this better not be a hoax.
I'm rooted using mofo. How would I go about reverting my Turbo to stock in order to receive this update?

I wouldn't though, if you want to keep root. Wait for a rooted image. If you don't you could lose root forever.
