Do any ROMs here have compatibility with my SMG530R4?? Are there any? - Galaxy Grand Prime Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've seen a lot of ROMs for other models, but i'm not sure if any of them are cross compatible, and using the XDA search function, I haven't found much chatter re this model.
any help would be really great.

hi... there is not any rom for this model... this is a US Cellullar and this phone have Lollipop 5.1, I believe.
only a few developers are working in Grand Prime, but in mobiles that are more sold. (G530H,FZ, etc)

Im waiting for a custom ROM for that device too.
It would be great if someone could make a stock-based rom with tuning options and without bloatware.
But unfortunately I can not contribute except testing...

[Q] Why do famous Roms does not support SM-G900h ?

Hello, I used to be a Galaxy S3 owner, on it I had Omega Rom and i used to change my Rom often,
there was not a version problem. today I got Galaxy S5 but i cant find a normal Rom
that supports my device ( SM-G900h ) I watched the threads of AllianceROM , OmegaRom and more.
but they all mention the same "not support g900h"
few questions:
* Is there some information about a future version that will support g900h ?
* Is there a Recommended Room that do support g900h ?
* Why do all the other versions are supported except g900h ?
thank you

Because you have a niche device. The 900H uses an Exynos chipset. But the vast majority of S5's use a different Qualcomm processor. Just by sheer numbers one would expect the Qualcomm models to be better supported.
And even if you have a ROM developer who was willing to take on the work of having to develop and support two substantially different ROM builds, he more than likely owns a Qualcomm model. Not an incompatible 900H. It wouldn't make sense to develop a ROM for a phone that you don't own - it would be exponentially harder.
ROMs that support the 900H probably reflect Devs that happen to own a 900H. If you want to buy 900H phones for famous Dev's as you put it, I imagine that more of them would release for Exynos.
.

[Q] Lost when it comes to "unified"

Hey all,
I am looking around this forum and I see a ton of ROMs. I am a little confused about what Unified means. Does that mean any ROM should work on any Note 3? Or do I have to make sure it says hlte somewhere in the description? (I have the Sprint variant). So many ROMs to try, just want to avoid problems. Thanks!

CyanogenMod has de-unified their builds. Branching into hlte - hltespr and hltevzw. I don't know if this is also the case with TW-based ROMS. Better read carefully the instructions or better yet just browse through Galaxy Note 3 Sprint section of xda dev. You should find everything that's compatible with your device there.

Originally CyanogenMod had seperate builds of Note 3 CM ROMs, but then they decided to merge all model specific CM's together to make "hlte". This is their so-called "unified build".
"hlte" is the Note 3, however there's no such thing as "hlte", as models are classified as "hltexx" (N9005), "hltespr" (N900V), "hltevzw" (N900S), "hltecan" (N900W8), "hltetmo" (N900T), "hlteatt" (N900A). As they all have the abbreviation "hlte", CM took those four letters out and created a build that works for all variants (if applicable on the device).
When the de-unified their builds, they created an "hlte" build but for the specific device that fits it's drivers and set up. I believe they did this in order to stabilize their builds. When they unified them all, I read somewhere that the video drivers caused issues leading to random reboots - even if this isn't so, unification and sharing of common drivers isn't always the best, you would want model specific drivers to take full advantage of your device, and to eliminate common problems that appear on different models of the device.

Only for CM and not TW.

Custom ROM's and CWM recovery for SM-S820L?

I have been into modding my SM-S820L for a few months now and although I have found an unofficial TWRP release and a few stock ROM's from various sources, I have never seen any type of CyannogenMod ROM or other custom ROM for this phone.
Also I have been wondering about compatibility between some of the other Samsung Galaxy Core Prime models or similar Samsung phone in general. Would it be plausible that a ROM for say SM-G360T would run on an SM-S820L????
I would love it if anyone knows about compatibility between the SM-S820L and other Samsung Galaxy phone's firmware and custom recovery releases and is willing to share the knowledge would post here with some advice.:good:
Sm s820l
I'm in the same boat as you, there's just not much out there, a new rom was posted on area51 but it wasn't much different, just got rid of bloatware as far as I could tell. I look at it like it's a cheap phone, and as far as custom roms and such, it's just not popular or not favored. I've spent hours searching, nothing out there but malicious websites lol. I'll keep you in mind if I come across something.
Head over to NEEDROM. I built a modified ROM from the Stock firmware for the SM-S820L.
Here is my post!!!
CM, PAC, etc, ROMs for other variants of the Core Prime definitely aren't compatible with the 820L variant? Nothing available but stock-based ROMs?
As far as I have found on the Net, and I have searched for countless hours, I havent found any truly custom ROMs from CM or any other ROM makers. All of my modded ROMs and Kernels are just modified stock files. I havent heard of the other SM- variants being compatible with the SM-S820L but if you ever do find info that certain ROMs work with this model, please post here or shoot me a PM.
I would be uber happy to finally flash something like a Cyanogen Mod ROM

An acquaintance of mine just got a Core Prime, so I was looking for info to root and ROM his phone. If you, someone who's actively been looking for the info hasn't found anything yet, it's pretty unlikely that I will. Looks like he just had the crummy luck of ending up with the variant that doesn't have much dev support. Thanks for the reply, though. People over in the SPH-L720 section don't tend to be nearly so helpful.

Is his Core Prime model SM-S820L? If so, I remember using Kingroot to root and then SuperSu Me to remove Kingroot and retain root. You can find SuperSu Me in the Aptoide app store.
After I rooted my phone, I installed TWRP with ODIN3. You do need to have the Samsung Drivers setup and Kies3 installed to have all needed drivers in order to use ODIN3 in your phone's download(ODIN) mode.

What you said is fair enough.
Actually I was only making a stock based Custom rom for G531F with Tweaks nd Custom apps & mods.
I made one but it didn't work out right.
As far as Pure Custom ROM is concerned, it is impossible until a proper Dev buys Grand Prime G531F.
It has a chip which has no sources nd no device trees so no development has been done previously.
Cyanogenmod or other roms shouldn't be expected or else what you can do is, buy G531F to Vince2678 or Zim555 nd they can build one for you.

No worries I'm glad. Sure just try swapping it with G530H, G530M or G530FZ nd you can get support for all kind of custom roms in fact support of all my roms as well.
These models have Snapdragon 410 Chip which is a well-known nd common one.
But G531F CPU is by Maxell nd only one of that company.
