I want to root my Note 4 910C. Can you guys help me with some questions? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all!
I want to root my Note 4 so I could remove bloatware, earphone volume restriction, wakelocks, etc and use a custom ROM but, reading at the forum, it looks like somethings are different now since I last rooted a phone( LG G2). Can you guys help me with some question?
1- I have a Galaxy Note 4 910C with 5.1.1 stock rom installed. What kernel( I don't want anything special here, only an good overall perfomance and battery life) do you guys think I should use since now a custom kernel is must for rooting?
2 - I'm also looking into using DN5 or Sixperience custom ROM and I always see people talking about new bootloader and modem. What are those?
3 - Is anything else I should know before rooting( custom kernel -> TWRP for recovery - Custom ROM)?
Thx in advance

1-2. If you need all the functions of the phone then stock kernel is best as some of it don't work right on custom kernels unless the developer of the custom rom has done something about it when changing the stock kernel for a custom. "Welcome to TW roms" Compared to other manufactures its a pain in the beep to use Sammy's TW but I do love the whole spen feature.
I don't have a C so cant tell you much about there battery life but a solid rom on stock kernel can be very good and mix it with what ever app you use to freeze apps and its good. I use 3c toolbox "paid version" the best app ever.
Bootloaders and modems must match the rom version you want to flash or you will end up in bootloops so example if you want coi3 based rom then bootloader and modem must be coi3 as well or it wont work. in odin BL = bootloader and CP = modem.
3. use odin to flash the recovery and rooting I cannot remember as I did that only once which was a few weeks after note 4 was released so much could have changed since that.

I need some advice

guys i just bought galaxy s4 i9505,for almost a year i was using note 1,my question is,should i root my phone and install custom rom or leave it to stock (already 4.4.2),is there any big difference in custom roms and stock rom?
for note i always used custom roms because they were smoother than stock.
are you still on stock or using roms?if yes which roms ?
Just read the rom threads and decide for yourself if you want custom roms or not.

Advice for a good, stable and light Rom?

Hello.
It's the fist time I'm gonna flash a modded Rom cause after a year the phone its staring to do weird things. I'm still at 4.3 Jellybean.
My phone is rooted with stock TouchWiz.
The less wissles and options the better. I don't use the S-pen and would like to have a simple and battery friendly Rom with a good camera app.
Also I'm worry for the sdcard problems i read everywhere and stability.
I guess a Rom with 4.4.4 is better than 4.4.2 but in this so not sure.
What Rom do you recommend?
Thank you!
first you need to choice if you want TW or CM rom...
if TW you need to upgrade bootloader and flash stock KK rom and root and flash custom...
if CM11 no need to upgrade KK and you can flash what you want
for CM12 you need KK bootloader too
Thank you for quick answer.
I read that Cyanogenmod Roms are not optimized and made for Note 3.
Is there a Rom made specifically for N9005 with the features I posted?
1. Go to the Note 3 Android development subforum.
2. Read about the different ROMs.
3. Decide which one you want to try.
4. Flash it.
5. Repeat as necessary.
There are no short cuts. Do the research yourself, only you know if you'll be happy with your choice.
Ok thank you.
Will all the Kitkat based Roms have issues with the Sdcard I read I forums?
I recommend to you the rom which made by Alexander.. And omega rom as a second choice.. Good luck

please, i have this rom
[ROM][N9005] Galaxy S5 Stock ROM - Final v40.0 - Clean, Fast and Stable - [OTA]
have i already in kk bootloader? or not sure? how can i check?
thanks
I'm trying to find Alexander Rom you suggested but i cant find it in the forum. (I'm new with all this about roms).
What is the name of Alexander's Rom?
Well you can use stock ROM, and uninstall all the nonsense apps with any root supported uninstall app, but you still will be forced to have those S related features, S-Scroll, S-Stay and all those nonsense features (which I never have used, ever). Now if you AOSP way then you won't have all those things and you will have a clean ROM but you will miss the lovely S-Pen integration of TouchWiz based ROMs.
So you have to decide according to your preference. I don't believe that AOSP/CM based ROMs are 100% bug free for Note 3, but please correct me if I am wrong. I am an AOSP lover too.
And I also don't believe 4.4.4 has much advantage over 4.4.2 other than some security patches.

AOSP back to Stock - G900H

Before I bought my G900H, I had a Galaxy Note 2 and I installed a Lollipop ROM on it and It had broken partitions and "No rom installed" in TWRP. Someone told me when im going to AOSP back to touchwiz its kinda difficult on the Note 2 (Which i don't think might be true)
Is it the same for this device? Or you root, install a custom rom, and can flash back stock with no problems?
Hi man,
I dont ve sg note 2 but
Flash on g900h is kinda easy
1st backup if u can
After that root your phone with
odin on download mode
Install twrp recovery by mehdimyadi
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/orig-development/wip-porting-twrp-v2-8-6-0-beta-release-t3085458
Next install costum rom recovery mode
l suggest xtrestolite or spacerocket
In case this goes wrong
u can return to rom stock with odin
Any help reply
Awesome sharing bro
I have been using xtro for 3 months plus with no issues.

Xtrestolite v2.1, SpaceRocket v4
Two roms work good there are equals & fantasticals
but my heart is inclined to SpaceRocket

Well if you wanna flash another rom then you are gonna have to wipe it all.
Many people do dirty flashes but that can kill your phone of you do the wrong kind of dirty flash.
You can do titanium backup but in my experience that causes more trouble then good 60 to 70 % of the time.
My recommendation is do a full wipe before you flash new rom and always do a wipe on internal sd card as well so that would leave the rom you are gonna flash on external sd card.
I find custom roms to be much better then stock. Obviously not a v1 or 2 of a custom rom but the higher version number gets the more stable and bugless the rom bee's.
Edit h **** I miss understand you lol.
You want to remove bloatware then custom rom is the best way. Keeping the note and spend features then don't flash cm or miui roms. Any not too debloated rom will have all features of stock note without the bloatware.
Hope I understood your question right this time [emoji12]

Flash custom rom? (ROW/K50A40)

Hi, I am new on xda and stuff. I will explain in short-
I am 15. It's my first phone. I have rooted it. It gives very poor performance. I decided to flash a custom. Couldn't find any for my model (ROW/K50A40).
My questions are-
Should I flash a custom rom? ? because it's still in warranty period (actually its only a few months old).
Why does it performs so poor ? (compared to my friend's Asus zenfone 2 laser same price)?
I geuss it's because I haven't updated the ui (since its rooted) because the system consumes a lot of RAM and that's why it lags. So I want to flash a custom rom. And ROW version requires SP tool to flash rom? Can't I use recovery? I have CWM recovery which I used for rooting.
Help me plz ?

Flash ROW version
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/Cvj7/3U5rjvc6s/ROW/
In SP FLash Tools:
1.- Never use Format (You will loose your NVRAM and your phone)
2.- In options, before flash, mark Checksum, if you don't mark it phone will not work.

Those are stock roms? Is it the latest/ updated rom? Will it fix the performance problems? What are OTA and SOURCE folders? I don't want to loose root to get back warranty. I just want to make my phone better by flashing a custom rom. How about vibeui 3.5? It has android marshmallow. But is it compatible with ROW model? Is any custom rom compatible with ROW? ?
I got it. Never mind ?. Thanks for your help TorpedoJavi.

Hi @Aditya781
K3 Note China -> K50-t5 (ST (stable) and DEV (developer) ROMs)
K3 Note India -> K50a40 (ROW ROMs)
They are the same phone, with the same hardware. I recommend do not use customs ROMs if you don't know what are you doing.
For non Chinese users ROW (Rest of World) ROM is OK, although, as I want to experiment, I'm currently using Chinese ROM ST.
Good luck.
P.D.: NEVER USE FORMAT IN SP FLASH TOOLS, NEVER.
I am going to try CM 12.1 ST LP 5.1 when few issues are fixed. http://www.needrom.com/download/stable-cyanogenmod-12-1-multilingual/
