ATT Wifi calling and LTE Band 30 - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Two questions,
1 - Does the Nexus 6P have LTE Band 30?
2 - Does the Nexus 6P support the new Wifi calling feature on ATT.
CC

As per GSM arena it does support band 30 http://m.gsmarena.com/huawei_nexus_6p-7588.php.
As for WiFi calling, I hope so.

I posted the WIFI calling question on the ATT Forums. This is the response,
wifi calling will only be available on phones purchased thru ATT is what has been said. You cant get HDvoice on non ATT phones either nor the nexus 6 which ATT did sell. You can bring your own phone but ATT is not going to make some features available to you to use.

I believe the only device that supports wifi calling on AT&T is the iPhone at the moment..

So even though you can buy an iphone thru apple and get it actyivated on att....you get the all att's supported feature even though the phone wasnt bought from att? However the google phone does not get the same support? That would be discrimination wouldnt it?
Actually.....I just called and the CSR atteampt to manually enter the provision for wifi calling and HD voice and she said it didnt work because it said my phone wasnt capable of the wifi calling feature. And the way it works she claimed is you provision my phone to do wifi calling and it will automatically enable the HD voice feature in tandem....but it wouldnt go thru

Since my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was updated to MM OTA with AT&T it now has wifi calling and HD voice. I was wondering if now since my Nexus 6P was updated to Nougat and it has everything needed for Wifi calling and HD voice is there a way to enable them now on AT&T?

Will Nexus 4 get wifi calling? Samsung will

I just read on Republic News that Sprint rolled out 442 for Galaxy Note 3 and have released a wifi calling update. Will there be any developers that will try to port over this wifi calling function to Nexus 4? I am on TMO and wifi calling would be a plus for me as I go overseas frequently and wifi calling via TMO just comes of the regular minutes calling from over seas back to the USA.
Never mind. I did a search and there are a lot looking for a way to implement wifi calling on Nexus 4 and specifically onto TMO. So that pretty much answers my question. No methods so far have been found but I think they eventually will be.
Short answer: no!
Long answer: its possible but so far no one has been able to make it work.

I don't understood You.
Are you talking about calling by SIP account on Nexus4 ROM 4.4.2?
It can be by VOIP provider and correct settings SIP account in the dialer.
I'm WiFi calling from Poland to Ireland and UK because it cost lower then via Play (Mobile Network)

Who's going to carry this beast?
4th option supposed to say Sprint, couldn't fix the poll.
i can guarantee it will be att/sprint/tmobile/fi compatible i cant yet guarantee Verizon though.
You think US Cellular will make the list?

Correct. Only the four major carriers... in the world. And by world I means the US.
Why you all think XDA is a US specific website when it was actually created in Netherlands??
How likely is it that it will come to sprint

Just read the 6p supposedly has tmo wifi calling out of the box. A developer got his hands on a leaked system image and its there.
I hope they bypass carriers in the US and go the Motorola route. Sell them on Amazon, Best Buy and Google Play only.
Hoping they offer the 6P with Jump On Demand on T-Mobile so I can just upgrade to it from my G4 without a hassle.

s7 edge is having trouble with TMobile's LTE mobile data

So I recently purchased s7 edge g935fd from Taiwan. The phone was working fine there in Taiwan. When I came back to the States, however, the phone seems to have trouble connecting TMobile's LTE mobile data. The LTE goes on and off , no matter where I am. The phone still says that it is connected to LTE even when the data is not loading. I tried to reset the APN setting but no avail. I also tried that sim card on my old ASUS Zenphone 2 and the LTE worked fine so it is probably not the sim card's fault. The weird thing is that I can still call, text, and even use 3g network, it's only LTE that is not working properly. Anyone got a solution to this?
Have you gone to settings>mobile networks and checked if it's set to auto connect?
I took off unlimited data from my account because **** sucks here In Aurora Colorado. Isn't worth an extra 20 a month when I got WiFi at home and at work. Plus 2gb free is cool with me. Still got bingeon

I used to have a note from Verizon Unlocked, but seems they've done that on and off signal quite a lot. Since their phones from T-Mobile have everything pre-installed, you can't even delete or edit their APN.
That's why I got a phone with then GS7E works like a charm.

Oh well. Like I said even with that sht I can NEVER load a video on Netflix on my lte, I would miss flights before this crap loads. I like t-mobile because it's the only one that's "good" in my area if t-mobile is "good" I don't want to know what's bad. That's cool it works for you. But I rather pay $55 a month for text talk and 2gb of free data

I have a 935FD on TMO and never have had a problem. I actually have a 935T also, just made sure the APN's matched. The FD however, has never shown an LTE icon although it shows connected to LTE in settings. This could be to being rooted and running a custom rom. But to your main question, again, I've had no issues.

Yes, I bought an International version after realizing it would probably be some time before the 935T got root. From what I understand, and don't quote me on this, but the international version of just about anything is compatible with TMO or any other GSM network. The Note 7 should be just as compatible as my 935FD is with TMO.

No, and that is the only reason I've kept my TMO version is for the wifi calling. If the buildings where I work weren't blast proof we would have cell signal inside them. Since we don't, the wifi calling is our only Option, besides landlines of course. For all these reasons we're talking about is why I'm looking at getting an HTC 10. I'm getting tired of all the Samsung lock down on stuff.

TMobile

Curious.... What are people going to do if they get the phone on TMobile and it has no volte? Essential won't tell us so who knows
I thought this was already stated that it would work with all carriers including Tmobile
Yes but that doesn't mean it will support volte, HD or evs
I’m pretty sure it was asked directly if the phone would work with those features and they said if the service supports it then it will work as intended. The only questionable thing was some sprint uses which I forget what it was.
well, my Mi Note 2 supports VoLTE so I have no reason to think that this device will not work accordingly.

For wi-fi calling I just went to an area with wi-fi but no cell signal and confirmed I was able to make a call with it turned on. For VoLTE I just checked that the data didn't drop to 3G or EDGE when I made a call. And for HD Voice I just called another T-Mobile phone and it'll say "HD" next to the call timer if it's an HD Voice call.
Wifi calling turned on today on my phone after not working the past 3 days.

Wifi Calling on At&t Google Pixel 2 XL

Opened the Settings app earlier and there was a suggestion at the top to turn on Wifi calling. I'm on At&t and November update.
How did you get this to work? I've been trying to days to enable this option. I pushed "adb shell settings put global wfc_ims_enabled1" but to no avail has it worked.
I am on AT&T and have tried this with both a Google Pixel XL 2 from Google and Verizon. If you could give me any details of what your setup is like so I can try to enable this I'd dearly appreciate it!

+1 how? Very curious.
a screenshot showing the actual call going over wifi is needed.
unless ATT changed their mind in the last week, WiFi calling isnt available for the Pixel 2/XL, even if the option is enabled, the account has to be provisioned, and the phone needs the proper IMS profile, ATT to this date has refused to allow it.
This is the first I've seen the option even appear. Will test some calls and report back.

Looks like it isn't up and rolling yet, but the fact that the option appears has me hopeful. At&t still doesn't say that it supports VoLTE on P2XL, but we have that working, so perhaps Wi-Fi calling is coming soon.

Here's hoping. My apartment is on the bottom floor so reception is very spotty. What has been weird though is that if I start a call when I have reception and move to a spot in my apartment where there is no cell service, the call persists. So part of me thinks me enabling Wifi Calling from ADB may have done something?

Because idiots around the US have no idea what they're talking about then they say "VoLTE on AT&T only works with AT&T-branded Android phones or iPhones". As long as a manufacturer certifies their device with AT&T, and configure their devices with the proper IMS profile for AT&T's network, VoLTE will work. Google (HTC/LG) certified the Pixel 2 / 2 XL with AT&T for VoLTE and RCS, both of which work if all criteria are met (proper SIM card, IMEI updated in billing system, options turned on), and right now, 8.1 DP1/DP2 are needed to use VoLTE on AT&T's network, as the modem/IMS configuration was updated on the phone to support it.

VoLTE is enabled in Android 8.1 for AT&T. I just flashed the final factory image and it does indeed work. You do have to verify that your sim card is properly provisioned for VoLTE. As for the WiFi calling portion of this conversation, I still cannot access the "Wi-Fi calling" setting within "Mobile network settings."

Check to make sure your sim card supports it. If it does you'll wanna call att and have a technician make sure your account is provisioned properly. Also you'll need to make sure they have the IMEI of your phone.

I just bought a Verizon Pixel 2 XL and Volte doesn't work. I'm on 8.1.0 February security patch. I've already called At&t twice, and they say it should be working.
