I cannot post links yet. but you can use the search term "google 60W usb C charger" and it will be the first result

I realize it's leading-edge gear but still seems a bit pricey for a single-port, high-output charger

it is not a cheap one . but compared to apple macbook charger, it is a better deal.
Moreover, now you are confirming that it will charge the 6P also, i think it will better than getting a spare charger for each device.

this one has two ports, you can use your own cables and is $20 cheaper. I understand it is less power than the other how ever its more than enough to fast charge the 6P. https://store.google.com/product/usb_c_dual_port_charger

this is excellent for those who are planning to get a USB C power bank as it is possible to charge it through a mico-usb or USB C ports. For sure the type C will charge the power bank faster.
here is an example of a USB C power bank from RAVPower by the way:

Dual Nexus 4 or Nexus 4/10 Car Charger

Has anyone found a dual car charger for two Nexus 4's or a Nexus 4 and a Nexus 10 whilst in use?
Most dual car chargers seem to have one output to charge Apple devices at 2A plus another output to charge non-apple devices at 1A which is not what I need.
Thanks
I've managed to find something but it seems to be unavailable in the UK
http://www.discountcell.com/cellular/p/gonexus-10_usbd3-1ablk_3
Monoprice has plenty of these. I love their products and pricing.
It might be possible to charge two Nexus 10 tablets or two Nexus 4 phones using a dual iPad charger and power USB cables as described in the first link below.
The second and third links are items from Amazon which might work.

Have you tried to charge your nexus 4/10 with a 2.1a apple USB port? I tried it with both my nexus 4 and 7 and they do not deliver more than 1a. I just ordered the powergen dual USB. It will only give 1a to android devices according to the guys at the nexus 7 forums. 1a is enough to slowly charge my nexus 7 in the car with maps running but im not sure about the nexus 10. We need a car charger specifically made for android tablets that can output more than one amp but I don't know if there are any on the market yet.

If you read the article in my first link above then that says that a dual iPad charger with the correct cable should deliver 2.1A.
Here are some Amazon customer reviews showing that a dual iPad charger can charge a Nexus device at 2.1A when using the correct USB charger cable.

Unless someone tested it with the nexus 7 or 10 im still skeptical. Anytime you see the 2.1a it's designed for the Ipad. Just read that article and it doesn't say anything about android tablets just ipads. Im sure they do output 2.1a but just to ipads, android devices will only get 1a.
Sorry for offtopic a bit but is it okay to use 2A to charge the N4?
I mean does it kill the battery faster or it is totally fine?
THanks

i just read the reviews, just because it shows AC charging it does not mean its output is 2.1a. AC charging just means that its using a charger or cable that has the D+/- pins shorted. I have a moto 700mah car charger that shows AC to both my nexus 4/7 but only delivers around 6-700 mah. What im saying is that it probably wont output more than 1a to an android device. 1a is more than enough to charge a nexus 4(or any other android phone) with nav on but is a bit too slow for tablets. If you do get this car charger let us know if it does output more than 1a. you can use current widget app to find out how much current the phone is receiving from the charger. Im still looking for a car charger that can deliver more than 1a to an android device.

yes it's fine. The nexus 4 will not draw more current than is safe for the battery.

Thanks for your reply. I've ordered the charger and the USB power cable and I'll report back.
I use this
http://www.myinnergie.com/mCubeDC10/Default.aspx
Bought it when I had an iPhone and it could charge it and an iPad at the same time.
Now I use it with the SGS3 and the Nexus 7, works fine for both and they pick it up as AC.

Quick Charge 2.0 Accessories

I know Google mentioned the 6P can charge quickly, but I don't recall hearing anything saying "QuickCharge 2.0 compatible". If it is compatible, which accessories are recommended? Based on a quick Amazon search, I've found:
Car Charger
Would it be possible to pair this with a USB A to USB C cable? I need to purchase all new adapters as I was relying on Qi charging pads. I need many new adapters, and just need to know which ones to purchase. Thanks!
I was wondering the same. The charger is 5v/3A rather than variable voltage

Yea... I have the same question.. I have a couple quick charge 2.0s.. can I get a standard usb to usb-c adapter like https://store.google.com/product/usb_type_c_to_usb_standard_a_plug_cable and plug it into quickcharge and will i get quickcharge capabilities?
I have the same question, i think we have to wait some guys to receive the sample and confirm if the Nexus 6P support qualcomm quick charge 2.0
for the car charger, here is my recommend.
You don't need to get another type c cable, just plug and charge.
Didn't Qualcomm announce quick charge 3.0 too?

coming with the 820, I believe
This phone supports USB 3.1 and USB Type-C so therefore it supports the new usb power delivery spec which is capable of up to 100w. If I were to bet money, I would say google is referring to this as "quick charging", not to be confused with Qualcom's implemntation.

Google has stated it does not support QuickCharge 2.0 but just the faster charging that USB C allows for.

You say that the 6P doesn't support "power delivery". How is Google providing 15W to the phone via it's Type-C charger? From what I understand, the pins for Vbus in the Type-C cable/plug is the only way to provide that power? As you can see, I'm a little confused.

Maybe they used their magic to find a better way to do it
**Delete**
Now I'm totally confused... so this doesn't support the same quick charging that's in the current line of micro USB phones, such as the Note 5 and S6? And it doesn't take advantage of the newer USB type C technology that allows for faster charging? So how the heck does it provide a "quick charge" for a quick boost in battery?
Here is a great article explaining Quick Charge and why the 2015 Nexus devices (possibly) do not have it; link

I think the wikipedia page may have been missing something important in what I quoted from them. That "Power Delivery 2.0" doesn't have to be supported for a Type-C cable. Based on the wattage of the new chargers though it does look like Power Delivery 2.0 is being used, just not the full 100 watts that Power Delivery 2.0 does support, but it's definitely over the 7.5 watt limit of usb 3.0.
What's important to note is that Power Delivery 2.0 can be supported on Type C cables with usb 2.0.

Helpful article, just not news I wanted to read.
I have 3 QC 2.0 adapters, and 1 QC 2.0 car charger. Luckily, I did just purchase this http://amzn.com/B0146FK3G0 for $12 using a coupon code. This should charge the Nexus 6P at 15W since it's a native USB-C charger, with an additional QC 2.0 port. Just need to find another wall adapter now.

The specs say that the Type-C port only does 5V/2.4A (12W) so you're not going to get fast charging off of that on your 6P (which needs 15W). You need to find something that does 5V/3A over Type-C.

Any issues with using Samsung USB C cables/chargers on V20?

With all the returns and obtaining of phones I've amassed a nice stockpile of Samsung fast chargers and a few Samsung USB C cables(and adapters).
I've read before that USB C allows for non standard use of cables by manufacturers so I'm wondering if anyone has tried or knows if it will be an issue using the said chargers/cables (yes I know the Samsung chargers are only QC 2.0 spec).
I have a QC 3.0 car charger I got from Aukey during a sale. I have some Aukey USB A to USB C cables too that work fine with my Note 7 too.
Trying to see if I need to slowly replace my Samsung chargers with official QC 3.0 wall chargers (will need at least 2)
Here at work I am using my Note 7 charger setup. Left LG flat cable at home.

It's adaptive fast charger and does either 5.0v @ 2A or 9.0v @ 1.67A so 10w or 15w respectively
All QC are backwards compatible. QC 3 will know you are using QC 2 and charge at the rate of QC 2. If you use a QC 3 charger and have a QC 2 device the device will only draw QC 2. So you have nothing to worry about as long as they are QC compliant

Fast Charging (hardware)

I am curious if any of you have tried third party CABLES for your Le Pro 3 charging. I purchased a pack from Amazon and found that none of these charge the phone with any kind of urgency. A thirty minute drive delivered 4% battery, on a QUICK CHARGE CAR CHARGER. With the OEM cable, I would have gotten 30-40%, based on my testing thus far.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The product I picked up (and plan on returning):
[/B]Conforms to the USB Type C Specification version 1.1, standard 56kilohm identification resistor, which ensures a safe charging at 2.4A Maximum and the speed of data sync up to 480 Mbps. No damage to your wall charger adapter and legacy USB hub
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have any of you had luck, or experience, here?
Do I perhaps need a special kind of cable? I am assuming all USB C cables are "equal" due to the tech behind usb c.
Any feedback is welcomed and appreciaited.

I too thought that all usb c cables are the same. Are you sure you were using quick charge 3.0 charger?
Yuppers. Sadly, I'm positive. I used the OEM brick this morning, and received 2% in 10 minutes. This is massively low compared to the OEM cable. The car is also a quick charge that typically charges my phone upwards of 40% on my daily commute. This did closer to 3%.
The o ly factor that has been changed is the cable.
Sounds like you got a bad cable. Return it and buy one that is approved by Benson Leung.

Is there no way to charge faster than ~250mA using "conventional" charging methods?

Is there no way to charge faster than ~250mA using "conventional" charging methods?
sorry for the newbie question, but i am loving this phone so far EXCEPT i have never been able to charge it to more than 60% so far because i dont have the original charger. and every single other method i've tried charges it around 200mA (measured by ampere) and it only goes up around 10% after 10 hours of charging
previously, i use a LG G3 and i get 1000mA via various methods like:
-plugging it into the computer's USB3 or USB2 port on the charging only mode
-using older "fast" chargers that range between 1.5A to 2.0A
I'm using a standard USB-C cable (bought from amazon) with the above
if i dont get the "newer" chargers, is there any way i can still charge the essential to a "reasonable" speed?
You can use one of the power delivery chargers (Anker, Aukey, etc) on Amazon. They will fast charge the PH-1. The charger for Chromebook Pro and MacBook also works well. Might also be able to get a replacement charger from Essential depending on where the phone was originally purchased. They sent me a free replacement charger and cable after the original charger stopped working.

I'm using the following and all work fine:
LG G6 factory charger
Essential Factory Charger
Aukey wall charger with Quick Charge 3.0

You need to buy a charger that supports Quick Charge if you want to charge rapidly.
Otherwise figure on nothing more than about 500mA.
At 500mA from empty figure 6 hours to charge.
Buy a charger.
