what everybody still has with that touch plus ? you don't even own the foil ... or is not avail. and if u wouldn't have omg mighty touch plus u would get rid of it ?
pathetic ..
that feature is last thing what i would use on the phone!
am really want to know how u gonna tap phone on bottom at night or in dark when obviously u won't see it as it not gonna be illuminated !

xdadevx, i bought a touchplus screen protection, from here http://flosmall.com/accessories/huawei-p8-original-touchplus-smart-screen-protection-detail
if you don't use the touchplus option, dosn't mean that nobody use it, and is no problem for me in dark, i just know where the buttons are..
also whit the touchplus option, you can hide the navigation bar when you don't nned it on screen, so is another advantage
in coclusion, it's a good option. If you don't use it, good for you, but i garantee you a lot of p8 users use it ! sorry for bad english!

I have updated my tutorial of how to hide the navigation bar for the latest update version B200. The video on youtube doesn't show you how to activate and show the "hide navigation bar" icon in the left side of the navigation bar. http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/huawei-p8-how-to-hide-navigation-bar-t3211855

I bet you will take it off in few weeks..
And navbar hides automatically when watching video or photos..why would I want to hide it when I need to use it all the time..
I wanted it in the past but I realized that I never used that hiding button..

I have been wanting to hide for some time now so im happy to have the option, nice to be able to toggle it up and down.

Based on the fact how many people were disappointed when Huawei removed Touchplus function in B170 update (and brought it back later). Navbar hides automatically in games as well and eigher you can't use it right away when you want to or it pops back when you don't want it to. Touchplus is much more convenient, navigation buttons are always out of the screen, ready to use. There are also two additional buttons on the top which you can configure the way you want. Not to mention the fact that it's a good screen protection.
PS. Since they're listening to their customers (the implemented double tap to wake or brought Touchplus back) I'd also love to see double tap to sleep function. Brilliant thing, intuitive and surprisingly rare.

P8 has protective foil as a default. Touchplus is not a foil, it's a hard glass which is much more difficult to scratch. It's basically protective glass with additional functionality.

There are some vids on youtube, just search "Huawei P8 Touchplus". You can't see the buttons in the dark but after a few days (weeks at most) it's not a problem at all because you just remember where they are.

It is exactly same with my P8 .. nothing is running and in standby mode took 10% in 24 hours..
I checked power consumption and it shows that 4g signal drains battery..

New icon showing between '3G' and battery

At the top right of my screen, inbetween the 3G signal bar and the battery bar, there is a rectangle with two zig-zag shapes on the lower right corner of it. I don't know what this means or why it's there, can anyone help please? As far as I know, it wasn't there a few hours ago, and I don't think I've used the phone since then.
Thanks

One thread among another 6473 isn't really a flood... I would've checked the manual but its 2AM here and it's in another persons bedroom, I didn't want to disturb anyone.
Thanks for the answer, I can't believe it was that simple.

No problem mate. But i fear that the paper lying in the other bedroom is not the user manual but only a quickstart guide. The manual can only be found digital on the web as a pdf file
I'm actually glad you posted this message. I just sat down today to figure out the same icon! I have a new phone, plus I rarely put my phone on vibrate...
I'll be looking for that online manual (pdf) next.

HTC HD2 Touch Screen Bug

Any fix for this ugly bug ?
Before HTC HD2 i had iPhone 3G, and it had no such bug.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRrKEDP59XE
This bug works on all apps, the biggest problem is when you type text on virtual keyboard, all buttons around are triggered.
Get a life man.
Obviously it has a sensitive touch screen. It is not a bug. You can decrease the sensitivity using BSBtweeks amongst others. But if you touch and twitch your finger on the screen that's what you get.
And if you don't like it go back to you iPhone.

it is not bug it is due to over senstivity and it is common in capastive screens even my iphone do it but not so much as its screen is smaller
just don't use the tip of your fingure
there are any. cab to lower the sensitivity enough to solve this problem?
thank you very much

you obviously have a defective unit. I tested mine exactly the same way and doesn't have this shaking screen at all. (even at the maximum zoom level at opera.) try to get a replacement.
i was having problems with the sensitive touch screen, not as bad as most, but very annoying. the main one being when trying to press the back key on the keyboard it would randomly hit a letter instead bout 1 outa 5 times. most other things where quite good.
Phone was still quite new so i returned it to virgin for a replacement and this new one works perfectly. Also, my old one had the visible matrix at angles where as this one does not. Also, the sticker on the packet says rev.B. Not sure if its relevant.
Anyway, to some it up, if you are having screen problems that are souring your phone experience and like me you can get a hassle free same day exchange, i'd go for it, cos the difference is really quite large. Previously id adopted to using skype as the normal qwerty was too innacurate for fast input. but now i can type quickly and accurately in portraite mode on the normal keyboard. Pinch to zoom seems to be working much better now aswell.
I have BSBtweeks and low sensitivty in that movie. On/OFF no big deal same effect.
I guess you guys don't have iPhone 3G and don't know how to real TouchScreen should work.
Why are you keeping your finger on the screen for so long?
Why not ?
For example, you scroll web down, and up in one move to see it all etc..
or u use Virtual mouse like notebook touchpad to control your pc cursor over wifi. etc.
I do it on iPhone without this bug.
get the same probleme and bsb don't change anything
LOL @ tags to this thread
I try and I try and I try but I can not replicate the problem in any software at any zoom level....
I have turned the tweak on and off and still cant make my screen do that maybe your phone is faulty,
i had the same problem, get your phone replaced under warranty !
i sent mine out under warranty repair and foud that they did nothing to fix it so i rang them (o2) and told them the problem is still apparent.
they sent me recondtioned model. cant tell the difference (physical) between reconditioned and a new one if you ask me!
i dont have the shakes with this phone
I got the exact same problem. Screen shivers like crazy, damn annoying. Bought in Norway... So it goes under warranty? I thought it was supposed to be like this......

Several questions....

Hi folks.....,
Anyhow, I have several questions for y'all about the phone. I was wondering, can anything be done about the pink hue in camera shots? I've noticed that in some pictures, it's not so evident, but in others, it's clear as day. Is there a trick to this? I know that changing phones don't really work as it seems to be something to do with the tech of the camera itself + the housing of the lens or something.
Also, since this is my first time using WM 6.5, is it normal for the Start menu, to segment in terms of scrolling? Like, instead of a smooth drop all the way to the bottom, it goes in "pages" almost, if this makes any sense. Also, is there a trick to using capacitive screens? Whenever I try to use my fingertip to scroll, sometimes it registers, sometimes it half-registers. Is angle an issue here? Do you get better with this over time?
I'm running stock ROM right now, with a yellow-reset button if that matters, with 2.13. Having said that, what are some of the common things I can check for in terms of manufacturer's defects, etc? I want to try avoiding flashing until I've checked for these common issues first to save me the hassle of flashing back again, etc.
Thanks everyone! But boy...the phone is snappy.

I can't answer your question about the pink hue. I haven't noticed it in my pictures, yet.
Yes, the page scrolling in the start menu screen is by design. It's so you don't go way farther down than you wanted to. I think it's retarded.
The touch issues you are describing could be for two different reasons.
1st, I hope you aren't using your fingernail? A capacitive screen requires skin contact.
2nd, the 2.13 ROM has serious touch sensitivity issues. There is a sticky in the "T-Mobile USA HD2 General" forum up top that gives you a .cab to install that fixes the registry for much more responsive touch scrolling.
Since you posted this in that same forum, I'm sure you will see it up there!
Thanks for the reply. I actually tried the cab above by zim or something, and it made my touch scrolling so much worse in SPB Mobile Shell. So I don't know what's going on.
Anyhow, I spoke with a T-Mobile rep, and we went through the usual rigmarole, and he told me since I can't get rid of the pink hue, I should just go back and get an exchange. Anyone think I should do this? Or are all units likely to have this problem? How many HD2 users here do not have this problem for the T-Mobile HD2 version?
A good number of the units have the "pink hue" problem. You can see several videos people have made on YouTube about this.
I have a bit of it as well.
My contention...live with it because it seems as though you have about a 50/50 chance of getting another unit with the same problem.

Is it normal to see the pink hue even through the screen though? Like, you start up the camera, even just at looking at the screen, I can see the pinkness in the center already. Is this normal?
That's my worry too. Everything else with the phone works so far. No dead pixels, no manufacturer's defects in the physical case....my worry is that by exchanging, I'm increasing the risk of obtaining one of these other problems.
Edit: Also, I have to mention that the pink hue is without flash.

Mine...on occasion it does have the pink tint but when I take the picture it is not there. People said to try to take a picture of a blank piece of white paper and see what it looks like. I tried with my phone and it looked white and my friend tried it with his iphone 3gs and it was fine as well. I read somewhere about it being an issue with a number of cameras not only the HD2. That being said a lot of people have including myself have taken really good pictures without a hint of pink?!?!

Yeah, I figured as much now. I realize when I use the pad of my thumb and scroll, it's so orgasmic and makes me jizz in my pants. And to see the scrolling without the icons being rendered as you go is.....just ....how it was supposed to be.
Funny enough though, I can't seem to hit the corners as easily. This is apparently evident when for example, you're in the Phone settings, and you have the two arrow keys on the bottom right. It's almost impossible for me to use my right thumb without hitting 10 times while my left-thumb needs about 2 ~ 3 tries. The screen seems to register the touch at the center of my thumb-pad, so to speak. Is this normal? Or does it just register the area of the thumb that gives off the most "signal", so to speak?

The pink spot was addressed by an HTC-issued patch for the euro Leo, which is still available on the HTC support/updates site for that model. But, the patch states that it's for builds prior to the ones used in the Tmo models, so I don't know that it will make a difference, but you're welcome to try it. I think the same tweak is available in all the HD2 tweaks listed in the sticky on the main page...in the list of all the "touch-x" cabs smaberg posted, there's one there for the "camera fix", I believe that's the same thing.
I haven't noticed the pink spot on my HD2 at all, and I did a test or two with a white paper...but I honestly don't remember what lighting I used. If I were you, I'd just test it several ways (indoors/outdoors/flash/no flash) and compare the results.

It's much more prevalent in indoor shots without flash. For outdoor shots, it's hard to notice it, but the farther you go away from the picture, the more noticeable the pink blur is. The radius of the pinkness get larger as the darker the ambient surround gets, at least for me.
Im still debating whether it is worth the hassle to argue for a brand new one, knowing that the reps might be reluctant to shell out a brand new HD2 over what they'd probably deem as a "minor" discoloration or something.

Hmm, but I've read online it's more to do with the low-quality of the camera parts and nothing to do with software really. Seems like a hit or miss really. Still fidgeting at this point whether to get it replaced or not since everything else works perfectly.
Anyhow, running SPB Mobile Shell on this monster results in 0 lags/freezes.

Yeah, my understanding is that the root of that issue is hardware based...the fix that was released was just an attempt to improve the way the software tries to compensate for that. But yes the only way to 100% eliminate it is to use higher-quality (and therefore bulkier) hardware components, at least from the references I've read on the topic.

What would you do Phunkee? Live with it or try your luck for a new phone?
Also, does anyone know if enabling Wireless N increases your drain when using Wi-Fi? And if you'll see a speed increase on Wireless G networks? And does enabling Wireless N count as "voiding" the phone's warranty?

If it's noticibile enough in your own pictures that it bothers you, I'd only try for a replacement phone if they can guarantee you a new one instead of a refurb (might want to take it into a store). I still can't seem to recreate the issue for sure, at least in any pictures where coloring isn't already kooky overall because of lighting irregularities.
Keep in mind too that it looks like new/replacement units are now being shipped with the 2.13 ROM from the factory, so also decide if that matters to you or not.
EDIT: I don't know about the wifi-N drain or performance improvements...I have it enabled on mine but my work and home networks are still G-only. I'm 99.8% sure though that it does NOT void your warranty to enable that.
1. There is a CAB file for the pink spots, have you tried it on your model?
2. Wireless "N" seemed to drain my power more also. And no it will not void your warranty because after a hard reset it will turn the registry tweak off. Hard Reset brings everyting back to stock except for your call timers. (unless you HPSL'd your phone).
Thanks for the suggestions so far guys. Right now, I've noticed that outdoor shots, it's hardly noticeable on the computer, so I think I'm likely to just stick with this phone. Everything runs great after all.
Anyhow, I wanted to ask, how do you guys use your screens? Do you use the base of your thumb? I can't for the life of me get scrolling to work when I use the tip of my forefinger. Not my nail, just even towards the tip, it's choppy. I test it out on the Notes program and I try to do a flick and I can understand why. Instead of a single vertical line being drawn, it's being split into 3 ~ 4 smaller lines, as though the screen is not able to register the touch continuously. Is this something to do with my personal body charge and how my finger is shaped? I only ask because I've used an iPod Touch before and I was able to scroll just fine with my finger tip. Is there anyway to improve the sensitivity even further?

There has been some sensitivity issues with 2.13; not saying that's it but a good place to start looking. There are also some registry tweaks for the flicking of your finger (how far it flips up/down). I don't have the exact link, but a quick search will get you in the right place. I personally use the end of my index fingers, thumbs, whatever finger is closest to the key I'm looking for.

But boy...the phone is snappy.

by pages I wonder if you are describing lagging. Lagging should not be normal. I suggest you notate how much free ram you have and how your program screen behaves (smooth or laggy)by going to >start menu>settings>system memory. After, run clean ram and repeat the above mentioned steps. You should have more memory and a smoother user interface.

POLL: Issues with bottom of touch screen

Hi all,
I would like to ask as many people as possible to test the bottom of their touch screens using multitouch visualiser 2 (free from the market).
I (and many others as it seems) are finding the bottom 5-10 mm of the screen is very unresponsive, this can be checked in the above app easily and if you have the problem it will either pick up no input or the "target" will flicker like mad when you firmly press your finger in the area.
I would like to gauge what kind of percentage of units have the problem.
Cheers!
EDIT: I recommend trying this app- it has deffo helped this issue for me!

Nope... Mine is perfectly fine...
Hi Higgsy.
Yeah a seem to get some problems with the bottom left of mine, It kind of flickers when i move across the bottom 10mm of the left side when using multitouch visualizer. Its fine on the bottom right. I have always had a slight issue when trying to drag shortcuts from that part of the screen to the bin. but apart from the its not a major issue. I was hoping it was a software issue, but your poll suggests it may just be a few units. Have to keep this one until they are in-stock instore anyway.

Thanks mate, that has helped a lot. No more flicker in multitouch visualizer. Dragging icons from that part of the screen is also improved. Seems to just be a calibration problem.
Happy Days

yeahj the whole screen seems much more responsive and keyboard too.
I've only found about a 2mm deadzone near the bottom, not nearly as bad as some that I've seen. Also seems to be a bit hard to press the home button in the notifications bar sometimes.
Thanks for posting that screen calibration app, I'll give it a look

Wow!
Higgsy I want your babies! Had a 10mm dead strip in the bottom left of my display, also had some issues typing on the keyboard, double hits drove me crackers, got to the point I couldn't be bothered to type. Well I used that calibration APK you linked and the deadzone has gone and even better my keyboard is much more responsive
About the babies thing.... might be a problem with me being a 42 year young hairy bloke . Settle for a hearty thanks?
Bumped it on modaco. Searched for this previously but its a bit of a dead thread.
yeah its deffo worth a bump doing one these every week wont hurt.
We could ask to pin this thread?
I put it in dropbox for quick access http://db.tt/QNqL2TB
I can use swiping on Launcher Pro after calibrating the screen, just like on my SGS! Great contribution!
Going to try it now, thanks
Mine was perfect for the first month I owned it, then it got really bad all of a sudden. I ran this app and it fixed it, but now sometimes randomly every few days (or sometimes within a few hours) the very edge where all the connectors are stops working, so if you have it rotated so that is the top, it is impossible to slide down the notification bar.
Running the app again fixes it again, but I hate that I have to keep running the app. It has held perfect for the last 3-days though, so hopefully I didn't just jinx myself.

Screen weirdly split in two

Hello guys !!
So I just discovered my screen doesn't work well anymore. Nothing is broken and my phone didn't fall or anything, but now when I scroll my screen it's split in the middle of the screen.
For example when I scroll down my screen the right part follow my finger, but the left part is a bit late. There is a time lag everytime. I can see this disconnection when I'm watching videos too and that's really annoying. Also sometimes my screen goes black for few seconds and comes back to normal.
I tried to turn off and on my phone but it didn't change anything, restart it either. I'm not really good with technology so that were the only manipulations I tried. I don't know why my screen is like that. The only thing I can think is that the day before my phone turned off by it self because there was no more battery.
Please can you tell me if something like this happens to you, and if yes what did you do to fix it ? Or if anyone has a solution for me, I would be really grateful.
Thank you in advance.

Did you install any weird apps lately?
Just do a factory reset, that'll probably fix it. You can back everything up from the settings anyways

Hey ! Thanks for your answer.
No I didn't install any apps at all lately. I did factory reset and it didn't fix the problem
But it's a bit better, it seems the screen doesn't go black anymore, but there is still the disconnection in the middle. Especially when I'm looking at videos or when I want to make picture.
I don't know what can be the problem
Try to squeeze the phone with your index finger and thumb, a half an inch besides the spot between the volume switch and power switch. There is an internal screen connector there that can get a bit loose

Thanks for your answer Waancho ! I tried your solution but it didn't work either. But now I think I might know why my screen is like that. One night I fell asleep listening music on my phone and when I woke up it was totally discharged. I could urn it off, I had to charge it a bit first. When I turned it on the screen was split and the left part of the screen was higher than the right part. I know it isn't good to let the battery discharged completely.... ?
Do you think the battery is damaged ? If yes, is there a way to fix it ?

the battery has nothing to do with it. the display connector gets loose and does this all the time. Fortunately it never happened to me but i've seen more than 10 people with this problem
here's a couple pics for ya, the best solution is to take it apart and secure it but if you never did it then just push upon the screen, where my finger is pointing, about half or 1 cm from the side
