[HELP] Can't boot in recovery through buttons combinations after flashed custom ROM - Xiaomi Redmi 2 Questions & Answers

Hi guys
There it is the things you should know first
MIUI v6 > MiUi v7 > TWRP mod > root > Resurrection Remix
Here it goes
I've decided to install Xposed, ok, flashed and bootlooped
Normally I take off the battery and put it back to reboot in recovery through buttons
So...
So what?
NOTHING
Just a small tux at top right of the screen and it's all
And bonus: fastboot and adb comands is not working, it says device not found even with debugging on
So....
So what?
I GOT A WAY
Flashed the TWRP mod again through the batch file which comes attached and magically it bootted into recovery and I could save my phone
WHAT YOU GUYS THINK ABOUT IT?

PS:
I Will send screenshots quickly
You guys should see
I can't understand why the adb comands doesn't worked but the batch files worked
As they are the same

In miui to enter recovery we used power + vol up button.
but after installing twrp we have to use power + vol up + vol down to enter into recovery.
Try it man.

Thanks buddy
Sorry if this appeared so noob
Actually I have upgraded from a very different device...
So I didn't expect that

button combo does not work for my redmi 2 with twrp 2.8.7,1 with custom rom (RR, CM... 5.5.1 based)
neiother recovery nor fasboot
i could boot to mi-revovery with miui 6 and 7
?!
the onlyt ways i could get there is rebooting from rom menu or with .bat reinstalling my twrp

I used to have this problem too. I re-flashed to a different TWRP version (2.8.6.1) using fastboot and then the power + vol up & vol down button combination magically worked.
A while after that I updated to the new TWRP (2.8.7.1) again and it still works. No clue what made the difference though.
Hope this resolves your problem.

funny?!!
Chris you're a savior
flashed an earlier 2.8.6.1 then went back to .7.1 and it worked
[don't know if it's supposed to work just from the phone being completely shut down << lack of experience with redmi/twrp >> can't do it from frozen and/or while it's rebooting, but it's good enough for me]
thank you once again brother!

You can also select "Advanced Reboot" from the developer options.
But if the phone was loopbooting I don't think you have a chance of doing it.

d802 can't get to recovery/boot!

Hi all,
I think I am in some serious trouble right now.. I tried to flash the latest carbon ROM on my device, but completely
forgot to flash the kernel.
I cannot connect to my device using adb (really can't remember if i didn't enable it, been flashing a couple of ROMS tonight ).
I can however, use fastboot.. But what use is that? Can I somehow restore or get to my recovery?
Any help is appreciated!!
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Thanks for the fast reply, but I can't get to recovery.. I've already tried this several times..
Any other suggestions?
EDIT:
It just hangs in black screen, and doesn't get any further when I try this.

If you got to the hard reset screen and pressed power two times but could not get to recovery, its possible that you no longer have any recovery (CWM or TWRP). In some roms, a recovery image is sometimes flashed overwriting the recovery image that you previously installed.
Best bet may be is get back to stock. Try this thread, hope it helps.

to access the CWM you have to hold down volume up and down, home button, and power button. once the phone vibrates once, stop pressing the power button. keep holding the other buttons until it goes to CWM.

hello, I'm no longer on CM10.2 so can't really help you. Try CM11, I find it pretty cool even if it's still in BETA 3.

Try flashing stock rom through fastboot: http://www.androidsage.com/2016/03/12/restore-oneplus-2-full-stock-firmware/
Try Flashing stock rom through TWRP: http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-2/oneplus_2_oxygenos_3.0.2/
You said that you are unable to get to recovery with the volume keys but I think you are doing it wrong. So to get to recovery power off the device by holding the power button. And then keep holding volume down and power button until you see the oneplus logo and feel the vibration. Let go of both of the buttons once the vibration finish's because if do it to early it will not go to twrp. If if does not work try multiple times
Dead oneplus2.
Hi guys and thanks to all xda community for helping us. I tried to upgrade from 2.0.2 to 3.0.2. But after the instalation my oneplus2 stucks into bootlogo(powered by android). Before i try to upgrade i forgot to enable on system oem unlocking. Now i'm not having access to recovery option, when i try to press volume- +power the op2 vibrate and flashes the screen till i stop pressing the power button, and when i try to enable oem via fastboot always get this message: <remote oem unlock is disabled>. I tried so many option but always getting this message: remote oem unlock is disabled. Please help me...

Root attempt Galaxy S8+ Touch screen unresponsive at TWRP

Hi, I followed this guide to root my S8+ https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/guide-how-to-install-twrp-root-galaxy-t3752480
Let's just say that I used the TWRP for the S8 instead of the S8+ and now I'm stuck at "swipe to allow modification", is there a way to unbrick the phone and maybe flash it back to stock?
I saw some threads that say to wait for the battery to die (I'm at 80% so it seems I gotta wait a long time) but after that what do I do? Do I try again to start it in download mode again and maybe this time use the correct TWRP or is there another option?
Thanks.
Edit 1: Battery lost 1% in an hour, this is gonna take a while
Edit 2: The power button + volume down button method doesn't work because the phone keeps rebooting the TWRP interface
Solved: Somehow repeating the action power button + volume down + Bixby button made my phone boot into download mode and now I've flashed the correct version of TWRP and touchscreen is responsive.

If you were to explain this to a child?
Can you boot back into phone normally ( press power button + volume down button until phone restart then release.)
If you can check in developer section to make sure OEM is unlocked and USB debugging on
Restart into download and reflash correct twrp for s8+ ( U can still use the link in your op if you like )

I'm sorry but the phone keeps rebooting the TWRP Interface even though I used the power button + volume down button method. I'm afraid I gotta wait for the battery to die. It's at 51% now
So you can you reboot and get into download mode at all. If so try and flash right twrp.
Also this is the latest twrp for s8+

This might be a better guide for you to install twrp

Samsung S10 Plus - Everytime I restart my phone Magisk would get unrooted. Need help

I am super new to rooting I mainly use it for PokemonGo. I am following this video on YouTube.
Basically when I flashed via Odin, I then install Magisk. Then everything is working and rooted BUT when I restart my phone my Magisk is then magically unrooted (I dont know if this is the right term) it says 'Magisk is not installed' and underneath that is says 'Magisk Manager is up to date'
So why does it keep doing this? Everytime this happens I need to Flash again via Odin and do the whole procedure again. This only happens when I restart the phone. Why does it keep doing this and how do I fix this? I will pay someone who can fix this for me. Ive been trying to figure out for the past day and Im going insane. I have no knowledge about rooting etc like i said i just want to play Pokemongo location spoofing.
Appreciate everyones help.
If you are on the stock ROM, you need to restart into recovery to activate Magisk.
Hi what is a stock rom and do I have that? What is this recovery? Sorry I am new

How do I do that?
You can press Power + Bixby + Volume Up then after seeing the bootloader warning screen, release all buttons so it can boot to the system.
You can also enable advanced restart in developer options.
Stock ROM is the one that comes with the phone.

Hi yes I remember doing the 'Power + Bixby + Volume Up' after flashing. So that part is done unless I'm doing something wrong?
What is this advance restart in developer options? Where is that and what does it do? If I do this what do I do after? Will this fix the Magisk not installed when I restart my phone? Also when I turn off my phone and turn it back on it works and it keeps Magisk so its just restarting the phone that is causing the problem.
Appreciate your help
So this topic is the same as the other one I replied to hence the "double vision" comment.
I believe you need to Power + Bixby + Volume Up every time you restart.
Advanced restart will allow you to enable rebooting into recovery (magisk mode), so you don't need to press the button combo, unless you need the actual recovery.
What guide did you use to install magisk?

If I press that when I restart phone then isn't that risky? If I mess up then I need to format my phone again to get magisk again?
Whats this advance rebooting? Will this fix my problem?
I followed this video https://youtu.be/o3a8YnWT3yk
Just looking at that video I'm not sure if advanced restart is an option on the stock ROM, i use LineageOS (custom ROM).
The button combo shouldn't be risky, if you hold it for too long just select the option to restart and try again.

I'm really confused so which part of the video am I suppose to do?
Since you already have magisk, you need to press the button combo every time you restart, if you want magisk.
Pressing the button combo activates magisk., and holding the button combo activates the recovery.

OK so everything I restart my phone I need to hold down bixy, volume up and power? When do i stop holding down the combo? Also let's say I mess up will my magisk not work or can I restart my phone again and do the combo or do I have to re flash via Odin and format phone? Sorry I just want to make sure because I've re flashed and formated my phone about 90000 times ?
