JIAYU S3 - Windows 7 64b drivers?!? WTF HOW????? - JiaYu S3 Questions & Answers

This is about the hardest phone i got to install some windows drivers! This piece of **** drives me nuts!!
I'm about 5 secs away from smashing it onto my desk and trow it out of the window!!
Damm...
For about 2 weeks or so it worked just fine, i could connect usb to my pc and access all my files. Internal as external sd.
Now i just can't anymore... made a bunch of pictures today and wanted to transferr them to my desktop. NOPE!
When i open explorer and browse to my phone it shows 2 or three maps and then the green progress bar coms up and
the **** hangs! It takes about an hour (if i let is go on) to find some more maps.. but very slooooooooooow!
If i click on a map nothing happens... internal as external can't acces... everytime i try i see 2 or 3 maps and then the **** hangs.
Tried to restart pc serveral times, makes no difference
Tried delete S3 in device manager and reinstall, makes no difference
Tried to install a bunch of other usb drivers, makes no difference except that my pc did not like that at a certain point
Tried to uninstall all the usb drivers and restart desktop, hopefully do it with a clean install, makes no difference
I just don't know what to do, or what driver to install!?! I came from a samsung and that was sooooooo easy to install..
Plug it in, install drivers, root, flash and ****.
Jiayu... NOOO!! Preloader, ADB driver, MTK driver MTP driver... arrrgh... WTF!?!
HELP!!!!

do you have USB debugging ON (Developer options) ? If so, perhaps try with USB debugging OFF.

I really don't see whats the problem with drivers
Using, Win7 i've been using the same mtk drivers for the past 2+ years
Disable UAC, check firewall, etc

Your problem is that you never installed the driver package properly.
Anyway. When i remember right you have Win7.
Download the All MTK USB Driver_.9.2+PDanet+Adb Installer.
Go to folder Universal Android USB Driver and install
UniversalAdbDriverSetup6.msi.
This will give full access to phone memory and SD.

you should be able to access MTP or USB storage without the drivers if you previously used MTP on your Samsung phone. i have found installing MTK drivers fairly easy, be it on windows 7,8 or 10. BTW what ROM are you using?

@Dior DNA
Yes, tried it on and off, same result. Even tried mass storage or media-device..
@superdragonpt
I'm on admin account. Why firewall check? If i access usb it doesn't go trough firewall..
It did work before, and nothing realy changed.
@1testi
I downloaden loads of packages and tried them all. The one you named i just installed again and the first attempt to
browse external sd worked! So i tried internal sd and the same as before.. shows about 4 maps and then the green
progress bar slowly loading.... takes about forever! When i try entering a map my explorer hangs and does not react
anymore. Tried external sd again and shows all maps, but when i click on any of them the green loading bar appears..
@adilrenzu
I use TF Extreme ROM with lolipop 5.1

And now it even conflicts with my mouse... after a while on usb suddenly i hear the disconnect sound and my mouse is not moving anymore. When i unplug my phone, the mouse is working after a few seconds. And i see an Unknown Device in devicemanager with exclamation mark.

Most probably ROM issue.

lol.....throw away that phone :v kidding xD Try backing up data then factory reset or reinstall a rom or use a different one. If that does not work. Reinstall win 7.

Do you have USB3 ports on that pc?

Yes i have..

Most probably a cable problem. Dont use the Jiayu cable !!

Win 7 needs USB-3.0-Host-Controller-Driver. Did you installed them?

I use the white cable probably from Jiayu, but when i first had the phone i used another cable and that gave me troubles installing the drivers. So i used the white one and then the device was reconized and i could install drivers. I just ordered a proffesional platina cable, so i hope thats the problem! But i don't think so, because my Samsung Tab 4 works like a charme on that cable, so why not my Jiayu?
USB 3.0 installed correctly, see attachemend.

Something is blocking the driver during installation, that´s why you have the unknown device. Go to the "software" section and delete everything from former installations, eg ADB.
This is from a Win7 Ultimate, only with Universaladbdriver for access to phone and sd memory. The S3 is there as full_h560!

When the phone WAS working a few days ago, there was a "S3" under portable device. I guess thats the same as full_h560?
And under "YunOS" there was an ADB device, but the YunOS is gone now and i can't get it back??

Jap its the same. S3 or full_h560 or... depends on the driver you are using.
Back to your screenshot. Was the S3 switched off or on when you took it? I dont understand it. The preloader/Media Tek
driver should be only visible with switched off S3. The unknown device in the USB section is the S3 without driver. That
should be visible only with switched on S3. In your screenshot there are both at the same time...very strange.
I´m running out of ideas. As said, try to delete everything related to S3 and Drivers, ADB and PDA drivers and install them
again.
The YunOS was in the device manager of a Win 8.1 machine with optional Windows Update package Ayun.

The S3 was on. Those mediatek drivers i installed when my phone was bricked 3 weeks ago.
But that did not matter last week wen the phone was still working..
BUT... today the new cable came in and i just tried it. Works like a charme!! It was never this quick before!?
So a good quality cable does a lot!!
Thanx again for the ideas!

[Drivers] MS Windows x86 and x64 USB Drivers for Samsung Galaxy S

Team,
For those of you having trouble finding drivers here are some links.
64bit:
http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/MOBILES/Samsung/Samsung-Galaxy-S-USB-Driver-for-Windows-x64.shtml
32bit:
http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/MOBILES/Samsung/Samsung-Galaxy-S-USB-Driver-for-Windows-x86.shtml
For Linux and Mac the Android SDK drivers should work fine.
I don't know if it is a conflict with my AV or something else, but when I use the x86 drivers linked, my phone will shut off completely when attaching with "PC Internet" option in the USB settings.

Also on a mac you do not need the sdk. You do need to be in debugging mode though.
Also, you could just go to the Captivate webpage on Samsung's site and get the Captivate drivers, not the generic Galaxy S drivers linked in the OP.
thanks was looking for these!
In Windows 7 I'm not having an easy time getting the phone to be recognized. If I click Start > Devices and Printers it shows up as Samsung_Android but even Kies won't recognize the phone so something is wrong. I also can no longer mount my external SD card and have it show up in Windows. I tried to uninstall all the drivers and reinstall but it keeps telling me there are already drivers installed...soo..... *shrugs*

I had this problem on my desktop as well. I was using a front USB port on my computer and when I plugged it into one of the back ports, it worked. I also found the USB cable that came with the phone to work better than a cable I had lying around. Try different ports and if all else fails, try a different cable.
So here's something bizarre. I've been using my PC (Win 7 64bit) for weeks now with my Captivate and no issues. Had originally had woes when I got it, but it started working. Anyway, today I plug it in and ... it doesn't recognize it. Have installed / changed NOTHING -- only M$ patches have been applied. Tried to roll back prior and get the lovely BSOD probably because I have 4 SATA Raptors RAID-0'd and M$ doesn't know how to use that, but has anyone else seen this behavior before?
And to add to this. I rebooted my phone and now it works again. Very odd but problem solved.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
ive been trying for weeks and trying all three, generic Galaxy S, AT&T captivate drivers and Kies and can't get anything working in USB Mass storage mode or Kies mode...
This is on Windows 7 64bit. Driving me crazy. USB mode wont install the Mass storage drivers and Kies wont recognize
My issue is that when I connect the phone on Windows 7 32bit the phone and the internal SD card will connect but one I try to click on anything inside the phone or card the phone will immediately disconnect and then reconnect. When I try to click again it will repeat the disconnection. After that, I don't even have to click on the phone or card directories, it will disconnect then reconnect about 6 more times. Eventually it will be stable and not disconnect. This is extremely annoying. Anyone else with this issue.

problem with usb connection

hi,
i just installed the sdk and motorola usb drivers on two different xp pcs and the connection is working on one but not on the other pc.
can someone please help me solve this? the pc that the connection is working isn t mine so i realy need to fix this.
i also have winplayer 11 installed.
the adb devices command refuses to see "devices"
i uninstalled the usb drivers and installed again many times with the same thing.
under the system hardawre i see two devises "mz601" and "MCT" with "!"..
thanks!
are you rebooting after you uninstall, then reboot after reinstall
i have made so many tries that i dont remember.i will try that.
i rebooted after the installation Not after the uninstall of the drivers.
for sure at the working pc i DIDNT reboot.just install for FIRST time and it worked right away.
Try plugging it into a different USB port on pc and see if that makes any difference.
ok.i.will.try that.
the strange thing is when i turn of the debug i get two devices in xp explorer that are working.the internal and external sdcard dirs that i can copy files there but when i turn the debug on it stops working and i get two devises with the ! symbol (mz601 and another one )
should i see the whole root or only the dirs i see?

please right-click and remove these devices from device manager. After a click on refresh (or something like that), these devices should be detected again and the drivers should be reinstalled.
You did install the motorola drivers using motohelper, right?

[Q] USB-PC Not working?

I'm running OTA 4.0.3 (Acer_AV041_A500_1.033.00_PA_CUS1) rooted with I don't know what tool, but rooted after upgrading to 4.0.3, and using one of the tools found here which was the latest (at the time of rooting). The tablet has an "A500 Root Tools" app which has options to enter APX mode amongst other things.
I'm unable to get my Acer to connect to my PC via USB. I tried using both a mini(?)-usb cable and an A-A cable. My acer makes no notification, and there's no visible, or audible, evidence that anything was connected. USB Debugging enabled and disabled makes no difference. The tablet shows absolutely no sign that anything was plugged in. Nothing in notifications, nothing in any file managers.
Likewise on both a Windows 7 PC, and a Windows Vista machine. No little sound saying I plugged something in. Nothing listed in device manager. Nothing anywhere. The Win7 machine has the Acer drivers installed, as it is the machine I used to root it a few months ago.
Is there some weird ICS toggle that I need to perform to get this working? I know my USB ports are working as I've plugged in USB sticks and it mounts them without issue.
At the end of the day, I'm just wanting to flash my bootloader so that I can install CWM and a custom ROM. If there's a way to do that without needing my PC connected, that would make me equally happy.

Reinstall the Acer Drivers and also the Google drivers from the android sdk if u have that installed, if not use the adb_fast.zip attached. For you to successfully flash the BL do not underestimate the importance of having the drivers correctly installed - its the cause of 90% of the problems folks have had - my advice is to keep Device Manager open the whole time so you can see what is or isn't installing - dont proceed with the flash until you are sure they are - else you'll be looking at a downgrade to HC to fix things
you can also use Acer Recovery Installer from the market to install a custom recovery
While I appreciate your help, my issue is not drivers - Windows isn't loading the wrong drivers, or no drivers at all. Windows is showing no sign at all, at all, in device manger, any where, that a tablet has been plugged in. Like wise, the tablet gives ZERO notifications on being plugged in to a PC. Nothing. No sounds. No notification. Nothing.
I was originally using the micro(?) usb slot, and it was not working. I assumed that USB slot was dead. So I went and bought a USB A-A cable - after testing the normal USB slot and established it works - and it, too, does absolutely nothing when plugging the device into a PC.
I've since tested with an Ubuntu 12.04 machine as well. dmesg lists nothing.

and the adb interface driver thats not showing in device manager?? and you have the acer drivers installed??
All the signs are pointing to no drivers, failing that its sounding like a hardware issue either yr tab or cable - can u try on another pc/laptop?
Tested it on a Win 7 Dell, on a Vista Dell, and on an Ubuntu 12.04 Compaq. None show any sign of the device being connected.
I know my *two* micro USB cords work as my Nooks (color and tablet) have no problem with them. I know the large USB slot works as I've plugged in a keyboard and a USB memory stick and both are immediately detected by android.
I've also done a factory reset on the tab. Problem persists, obviously.
I'm actually setting up stock Win7 on another laptop right now. When it's complete I'll install acer drivers and plug in the tablet. It will be the only USB device, let alone android, to ever be plugged in to it.

are you trying to flash something or do you mean when you connect yr tab
windowz explorer doesnt show your int/ext storage??
more info needed, what rom and bootloader, what OS on yr pc can u try on a different one, try a different cable and usb port..
have you run the acer drivers setup.exe
did u install the android usb ones
have u opened a command prompt from the folder where adb.exe is and run "adb devices"...does a number show??
when u have device manager open and connect yr cable do you see the drivers install. If they are there then uninstall them, disconnect yr cable and clean boot and reconnect.
If they do not install then manually install by pointing them to the folder you extracted the zip to...for the acer ones, just point it to your c: drive
If windows trys to install them, stop the hardware wizard from searching windows update and manually install them yourself.
If you've tried to flash the bootloader and it hasnt completed for what ever reason - you can strike issues such as yours - again, uninstall, clean boot, reconnect, manual install

That's correct, a straight USB "A to A" won't work. Further, I discovered something else; not all micro-usb cables are created equally! I was using a cable that worked fine on my Thunderbolt phone, would not work at all on my A500. Turned out there's some enhancements to the pinouts on the newer micro-usb devices. So the lesson here is go with the cable that came with the device if at all possible.
Seriously though, give a different micro-usb cable a shot; they're pretty cheap around the interwebz.

[Q] Help needed!

Ok so here's the thing. This morning when I woke up I dropped my phone on the floor and the battery flew out.Initially I thought it was nothing but later it started rebooting without any good reason. I tried restarting, it would stay on for a bit then it would go down again. I am(was) running CyanogenMod 7 on a Samsung Galaxy SI. I want to reflash it with Odin as it won't start anymore. At first it would just boot loop but now it won't even get past the first logo. The tricky part is that my PC won't recognize it , all I get is Unknown Device code 43 yada yada BS! I tried alot of drivers, I tried the have disk method with the usb driver from SDK Tools , nothing worked ! Please, give me some suggestions about what I should try more because honestly this is beyond my expertise in this domain.

Microsoft engineers answer
I suggest that you connect the Controller to a different USB port and check if you have the same issue.
If this does not work, you can try to uninstall and reinstall the USB controller.
To remove and reinstall all USB controllers, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, type Device manager and open device manager.
2. Right-click every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers node, and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.
3. Restart the computer, and then reinstall the USB controllers.
Disable and enable the USB device:
1. Click on start and type devmgmt.msc.
2. Right click on the caution sign on the USB.
3. Select disable and reboot the computer.
4. Enable the device after reboot.
Also make sure that you download and install the latest version of Software for this. Here is a link you can follow to download the Software:

try and borrow another original samsung USB cable to test first, this is a major culprit, as numerous people including myself have experienced
what happens is one of the pins on the micro usb plug of rolls in and gets broken , also check your USB slot a good cleaning with a brush and alcohol would be good fro the connection ( do it when you have removed battery)
Got another USB cable still nothing... It's very weird, it's like nothing I heard off or read on the forums... Is there any method of connecting to the mobile using SDK manager ? I'm not really familiar to working with the SDK manager.

was your cable an original samsung cable, IF not, many common cable do not work, due to pin configurations
For ADB, you still need connection with USB cable
Here's another thing I could try. If I go to Device Manager - Right Click on Unknown Device - Update Driver Software - Browse I can choose from a list of Samsung Drivers... The question is , which one do I have to choose for my Galaxy S ? Maybe it will work like this

I think you have misunderstood it, there are many solutions mentioned there in, cause I am the one who wrote it ..your option was to try them all to see which one solved it
for win 7 . download this driver http://www.4shared.com/zip/0LQRmsMm/usb_driver.html and give it a go, if the other failed
Tried everything from your guide...even from the microsoft sites...Still can't get my device to be recognized...If I use the Usb driver you sent it won't let me use them even if I manually choose it for my device. Don't really know what to do more honestly other than throw it away and get another phone

Try the above, then install the Samsung drivers and then connect your device.

problem is, its not the phone but its either, the micro USB slot or cable or your PC, if you have another USB cable and a lap top or a friends PC might be able to resolve your problem

Windows 10 Not Finding My Phone

Hello, I am having a rather strange problem. My PC did the dreaded auto upgrade to windows 10 the other day and I also got a new Nexus 6P. It seems my computer won't recognize my phone, at all, when I plug it in via USB. It's not even showing up in the device manager as a problem, it's like nothing happens at all.
I have
- downloaded and installed the latest google usb driver (right click install)
- downloaded the latest mtp drivers
- downloaded official nexus package from Huawei
- installed ADB and android SDK and also reinstalled the drivers from the SDK manager.
- downloaded some update for windows media player as someone mentioned that could be the problem
- tried different cables
- tried different ports (usb 3 too)
I am really at a loss. My work computer works just fine with it so I know the phone and the cable are okay and other things work on those ports on my home computer. By the way the computer is Windows 10 pro - 64bit

Have you installed Google USB Driver for nexus 6p? If not, download Google USB Driver, extract it and save it in your any name folder that you can locate it later, plug n6p in your pc or laptop and it should pop up with USB option to select either file transfer or picture transfer, click one of them, Windows should be able to find n6p driver, if not, go to setting on your pc, device manager, then look at highlighted USB of your nexus 6p whether it is properly installed, if not, then install it by finding the driver that you extracted in that specific folder... Hoping this works for you.

Thanks for the response, but yea I already got the new usb drivers and installed them via right click install. The thing is though that in device manager the phone doesnt show up, at all, not even as a problem device. Its like its not there. The phone shows that its charging, but it doesn't recognize that its plugged into a usb port. Im really unsure what to do about this.

Did you install x64 driver from Google USB Driver? Check to see to make sure your USB android debugging is checked. It is kind of odd, try to reboot your pc and nexus 6p, then plug your phone in different USB port if your pc has extra USB port..

Should be on top of the folder that your extracted...
Ah I see what you are referring to. Well, here is the thing, how do I install those drivers? Remember I cant find it device manager to update the drivers. The only way I could find to install them was to right click the android_winusb.inf file and choose install. It said it installed okay, but of course its not working. Any idea?
By the way, I also have usb debugging on and usb configuration WAS set to MTP, but I just changed it to try the different variations, but now its stuck on charging and wont change to MTP, but I think its because the phone isnt being recognized by the computer because this morning at the office I was able to change the usb type to mtp and the others, but that computer recognized the phone... AGHHHH WTF

By the way, if your Android debugging on or check? Just turn "developer options" on your phone and then check Android Debugging. To install x64 USB Driver, on your pc, control panel, device Manager, look for phone USB Driver to see it has some kind of yellow triangle, if so update x64 driver from your extracted folder...

Hey Lucky, I really appreciate you helping me out here, but just so you know I am no newb with this kinda stuff. I have went through this process on a couple other computers with no problem, so when I say its not showing up in device manager I mean its literally not there. Its not there and just under some other name or with a problem icon, its literally not in the device list. Also, I do have usb debugging on

Please go to YouTube and type "install usb driver on nexus 6p" search and then follow instructions from the video... Good luck.
WAIT! I got it... Wow I would of never thought this, but apprently my Wacom was the problem. As soon as I unplogged my wacom tablet the phone picked right up... Strange... Anyways, case closed... freaking conflicts!
Okay hold on, still having problems. Well, now the computer dings when I plug it in, but it still doesnt show up. However when I change the phone usb to PTP the phone becomes visible on the pc in windows explorer (but still not in device manager) and when I put it to MTP it disconnects and I cant see it in windows explorer anymore, and still cant find it in device manager... Ugh...
Okay sorry for all the messages, but i did get the MTP working. I had to uninstall the reinstall the drivers a couple times... very strange, but whatever its working... yay!

Did you figure out the problem? I'm having the exact same problem with mine and with USB mode not switching from Charging and the PC not even recognizing a USB device was plugged in.
I found using a different cable solved my problem. Don't really know why cause the first one I used seemed fine and worked to charge it, but by using a different one, Win 10 recognized it and got me in the game.
