Desire 820Q... The UN"DESIRE"ABLES - Desire 820 General

Its disheartening to see that while Desire 820 is getting the updates and stuff, those who purchased Desire 820Q, which was released along with 820, are being left out. The twitter handle of HTC India never ever, and I mean NEVER EVER comments on updates. The official HTC twitter handle doesn't have any info either. I seriously feel like my Rs 21,000/- has gone down the drain. Time to find a new device. :crying:

No wonder they're going bankrupt. I also own some variant of this phone and it's as if their Twitter accounts don't have any connection with HTC.
This is my last HTC phone.
Sent from my HTC Desire 820 using Tapatalk

Such a waste of money. I used to suggest people to buy HTC, but not anymore. I'd just make sure no one around me buys an HTC phone.
My last HTC phone.

Desire 820s hasn't received the lollipop update either so you are not alone.

Well they might not be laughing too long with Google's purchase of Moto. Never know where I'll spend MY money next. They ain't the only game in town. I just posted that on FB
Unbelievable. What is wrong with HTC? I can't believe they'd want to alienate users of one of their recent phones like this.
I saw this on their site
"HTC is committed to assisting customers in unlocking bootloaders for HTC devices. However, certain models may not be unlockable due to operator restrictions. We continue to work with our partners on this, check back often for ongoing updates about unlockable devices."
Which means if Sprint says NO, I guess HTC's hands are tied.
Can someone post a link? I wish to speak my mind

My thinking exactly,I keep coming to remmember when agrbren announced he'd found an exploit ? Then talked to HTC about said exploit,Wondering with a hint of conspiracy if that hole exists in our kernel and they are working to close it? But then they wouldn't have released the 3d and Sensation kernel so fast> just rambling Tirerd need to go to bed, long night tonite.

They are busy there, but they focus on Samsung Phones.... I checked there daily when I used a Transform...
FYI, I don't recommend Samsung phones... They have nice specs, but need replacement Roms to really shine, and even then they still have issues.... My biggest gripe was no CM7 port....

[Q] Lucky?

Whilst out walking the dog I noticed a htc phone facedown on the pavement, there was no body else about so I picked it up...
Turns out to be a wildfire with vodaphone sim and security gesture locked.
What should I do?
Is the phone rooted or not ?!
If not just Hold Volume Down + The power button to boot into hBoot menu, then choose clear storage and choose yes, this will hard reset the phone and it will be as new, enjoy it
LUCKY!! -.-
Hi, no doubt its rooted. Yeah I know how to wipe it but didn't know if it was blockable by the carrier. Thibk its pay as you go to be honest!
I have a rooted desire myself but might give it to the misses

Yes, I'm gonna buy me a Motorola Defy. So I'll have official CM and MIUI (with ICS in future). But main reason are the ****y touchscreen and low ram.

I sent back a "new" phone that was clearly rooted and unlocked (tamper and s-off) - so did another fella at work, though his was only rooted. I'm wondering if they are just doing quick checks and resenting these out. Second phone is perfection though love the One

I may be wrong but I believe The implication is maybe HTC is sending the old phones of people who owned the one and not reflashing the correct software thus users are getting phones on rooted or modified software.

I'm pretty sure that's the point as well. You should check this out just in case. In the event that you did get a rooted and flashed refurb, there may or may not be some unwanted bugs/modifications within the device.

This is true, and we know (at least fairly certainly) that 2.17 is not the official release of 4.2.2 for the One. According to the Football, not even 2.21 is the official.
I have check, the boot loader is still locked and its not rooted. Must have been fortunate to get the leaked ROM on my device. It also came in a sealed box

Android M with sense 7

Again Good news for desire 816.
According to HTC Rom maker llabtoofer And HTC And HTC USA 816 will receive android M(6.0) with sense 7.
after a written:
 @LlabTooFeR
"Note that list is preliminary, some devices with lack of internal storage like Desire 816 may not receive Android M update"
But it will get update by 90%.
Taking into account that we are talking about htc I exchange the 90% statistical probability that no actualizen (I hope I'm wrong)
Fingers are crossed but if HTC has an excuse they can use such as "lack of internal storage" you better believe they're gonna use it. Honestly not try trying to be negative but 2 updates on a midrange phone would shock the hell out of me.
