LTE bands supported by SM-G928F - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello !
I've contacted Samsung, to obtain informations about LTE bands supported by SM-G928F, model available in France.
They sent my ask to technical support, but no news since many days.
I would like to know, because many sites delivers differents informations. In France we have the next bands :
- Band 3 (1800 FDD)
- Band 7 (2600 FDD)
- Band 20 (800 FDD)
- Band 28 (700 FDD, enabled in may 2016)
PDADB says it's OK, but Device Specifications NO, and GSM Arena has not this model.
Can you help me please ?
Best regards
Frederic

Hi Frederic,
What I would suggest to you is to try contact Samsung Technical Support through their LIVE CHAT that they have on their site. I found one on samsung.com, but it only offical supports US Models of Edge+ there, but anyway, the Technical Support guy could still help me in my case (I'm from Europe).
Maybe give it a go?
Best,

Vodafone UK uses Band 20 & Band 7 for LTE & the Chinese OP2 (A2001) only has Bands 1, 3 & 7 enabled.
So, if you're not in a Band 7 area (very limited ATM), you won't be able to use LTE.
Flashing a radio won't help as the three different models have different bands enabled in hardware.
Only the European/Asian version (A2003) has Band 20 enabled.
Ref:
EU/Asia (A2003)
LTE: Bands 1/3/5/7/8/20
North America (A2005)
LTE: Bands 1/2/4/5/7/8/12/17
China (A2001)
LTE: 1/3/7
ah ok thanks for the reply mate I appreciate it, looks like im either stuck with the device on 3G until band 7 is rolled out or see if anyone local wants to swap ha

Band 20 (800 MHZ)

Hi all, I am writing from Italy.
I read from technical specification on Zenfone 3 to understand if band 20 (800 MHZ) is supported by ZE520KL.
It seems not supported.
In Italy there are some carriers that works on this frequency. So, it is important to use LTE in the best condition.
I contacted technical support by ASUS but I never obtained a reply (neither YES or NO for this question) .
Is there a code of the type *# xx# or an app to verify if a zenfone 3 is compatible with this band?
thank you very much in advance for your reply

What I dig from gsmarena, it supports 18(800) and 19(800). Guess you're out of luck, mate.
compared to GSMarena, It is very reliable the infomation from frequencycheck.com about a zenfone 3 global LTE :
for other italians with the same problem or uncertainity.

Frequency band issue on axon 7 a2017u - please help friends!!!

hi friends I bought an axon 7 on amazon, the model number is a2017u.
I checked with sims from 2 major carriers in my country and first issue is frequently I am getting no service warning and literally I cannot use the phone for call and sms for daily use. Throughout the day it mostly says no service.
Next issue is phone is not support 3g band and it should as the spec says. Will explain later on this post please keep read on.
before I purchasing I asked clearly on amazon answers whether this support in my country, sri lanka the answers were yes it should work in my country.
And also, I have checked the frequency bands in my country and the model above whether they are compatible each other.
Supported bands by the phone model a2017u as official ZTE site mentioned are: (check the specification section in
• GSM/EDGE:B2/3/5/8
• CDMA BC0/1/10
• UMTS/HSPA: B2/B5/B4/B1/B8
• LTE: B2/B4/B5/B12/B13/B17/B7/B3/B1/B20/B29/B30/B25/B26/B41
• 2CA: B2+B4, B2/4+B12, B2/4+B29, B2/4+B5, B41+B41, B25+B25
In gsm arena also here are the bands support by usa model above
• 2G bands - CDMA 800 / 1900 - USA
• 3G bands - HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700(AWS) / 1900 / 2100 - A2017G, USA
• 4G bands - LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 20(800), 25(1900), 26(850), 29(700), 30(2300), 41(2500) – USA
In sri lanka support bands are
• 2G capabilities - GSM 900, GSM 1800
• 3G capabilities - UMTS 2100
• 4G capabilities - LTE 1800
With all the above verified information, can some of you who actually familiar with these technical stuff, confirm this phone should work in my country?
Because when I contacted official zteusa online chat they say my country may not support even I clearly explain that if the band is support it should work but they are not very supportive and they end up saying the same thing again and again.
I spent over more than 400 usd for the phone with shipping and clearance and everything and now I cannot use the phone for my daily use. And on the otherside zte support team is not supportive while I am going with the facts.
Please some experts here help me how to solve this situation. The frequency bands doesnot depend on the country right ? if the same band 2100 support for 2 different countries then it should work like the same isn’t it ? not just for USA right ?
And “No Service” status of the sim that i am getting frequently almost every time also due to that frequency band thing or hardware defect of the phone ? any thoughts ?
please clarify someone who know these stuffs well.
Please help friends I am really tired of this situation looking for answers. Sadly there is no official agent for zte brand in our country. So I am stuck here. With all the facts above phone should work in my country right?

No service warning: bad reception area or defective phone, you need to go close from any cellular tower and check there.
Is your phone in and out of 3g band?
Is your phone in and out LTE band?
Read above.
You do a great job searching for bands and carriers from your country, I bet for a defective device. Sorry

hi mate first of all thanks for the reply.
i checked 4g and its working but in my country there is no much coverage. so 3g is wt we have to use mainly here. and 3g band is not working. but specs says otherwise.
can you confirm if band support as an example 3g - 2100 band in here and USA then the phone should work in both countries without any issues right ?
and no service thing is appear most of the time in daily basis and time to time appear actual service provider name and signal bar but mostly saying no service. this cause the GSM band right ?
i dont have much technical knowledge in that area. thats why i need to confirm this mate. bz zteusa site support team seems like not taking the responsibility here. so i have to go with the confirmed facts u knw. thanks again for the support mate.

You can change sim card
Or:
do a full factory reset to the terminal
Stop asking for a magic trick, that's not going to happen.
This is simple: put another sim card, or do a full reset. It's a basic thing.
You choose the wrong phone if in your country the cellular signal is weak. Do you want an advice? Return the phone and ask for a refund.
Try to flash A2017G bootstack provided by DrakenFX

(Of course, before that you have to unlock bootloader, instal twrp... all guild can be found around xda)

Hi,
Try to read more about 4g+ (where 2 ou more bands can be used at same time)...
Anyone tries to unlock the LTE (4G) Bands on z17 mini?
I would like to unlock the 28 band 700Mhz APT...
Reading now more about unlock in
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64675180&postcount=11
But nobody has unblocked this frequency.
Well, soon as possible, I'll try and back here to post if worked.

Does SM-G950 / SM-G950U1 (US Unlocked) support TDD LTE Band 40 (2300MHz)?

I bought an SM-G950U1 (US Unlocked) from Best Buy. Does any one know if it supports TDD LTE Band 40 (2300 MHz)?
There is conflicting information on this! Answers given in various specs vary as follows:
YES (it supports LTE Band 40) --- according to specs given by sellers like Best Buy, B&H, and many online sites like gsmarena, phonearena, frequencycheck.com, etc.
NO (does not support LTE Band 40) --- according to the Samsung support person I talked to over the phone. Also, the FCC filings for SM-G950U do not list TDD LTE Band 40 (they have only one TDD band listed, Band 41, presumably for Sprint). On the other hand, although TDD LTE Band 41 is actually known to work with the SM-G950U1, the official Samsung SM-G950U webpage does not list any TDD band at all, not even Band 41 (it lists only FDD LTE bands).

Does anyone know the real answer here? Has anyone actually tested the SM-G950U1 for Band 40 support in a suitable country (Peru, South Africa, India, Australia)?

I don't have a carrier that would have Band 40, but here is the thread which lists all bands for different versions of S8. You can try asking there as well.

Thanks. I have posted to the thread you mentioned. It is surprisingly hard to find the answer to such a simple question for such a flagship device!

Band 40 LTE is there. Open phone and dial *#2263# and it will list all bands active in the phone, including 40. It is in mine.
Thanks Danny Noman! The *#2263# code did work and showed Band 40. Wonderful!
One question: The *#*#4636#*#* info menu does not seem to work on the S8 (works on many other android phones). Any idea what might be an equivalent for the S8?
