Google Play Music Equalizer Settings - Nexus 5 Themes and Apps

Hey all. I wanted to make this thread for us audiophiles to share our Equalizer settings through the Google Play Music app and give people some general guidelines for optimal sound settings. While there is no real format to this, if you decide to contribute, please try to include:
Headphone type (earbuds or headphones)
Brand of headphones/earbuds (if you can)
Type of music
Screenshot of settings
For me, I listen mainly to metal and hip hop. And when I say metal, I don't mean Judas Priest or Black Sabbath. I'm talking about the newer generation of metal with weird noises and breakdowns (ALL THE BREAKDOWNS). I want my music to be as heavy as possible, so I lean more towards heavy bass and cranked treble which offers extremely clarity to the instruments. The vocals take a bit of a hit and almost get drowned out, but I'm still trying to find a way to balance everything. If there are any fellow metalheads here, please feel free to help out.

In google play music there was a beep sound in between the songs.and songs change automaticaly.please help me to resolve this problem...my mobile is moto g4 plus

"newer generation of metal with weird noises and breakdowns "
That's not metal... That's mallcore.
But anyway, my settings depend on which earphones I use. Usually, I go for a scooped setting, the mids are set to flat or a little below. If I use my AKG Q460 I might even turn of the EQ, since they are more balanced than in ear headphones.
My bass boost is set at maybe 1/4 and the surround is off.
Other in ear phones I use are aJays 5, Samsung HS3303 and Motörhead Overkill. The aJays and Overkill have a bit more treble than the Samsung ones which I find more balanced and they fit better in my ears as well. But right now I go with the aJays.

Being a bit of an audiophile myself. I am very happy using Viper4Android cabled to my headphone amp. I keep the settings simple enough not to drastically change the sound but to enhance my experience with my IEMs.

[Guide] Sound fix that works (Omina 7/Focus)

Thought you focus owners might find this useful as well:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342622
I made it easier for Focus owners (rather than bouncing on Omnia 7 threads/wiki).
To increase overall loudness of the phone (Focus/Omnia7):
Run Diagnosis, type *#0002*28345# to get to the "Sound Tuning" menu.
Locate "Device Gain" (lower part of the screen)
The first value identifies the output. Legend:
2 - ear speaker (call)
5 - headphones
7 - back speaker (default shown)
Standard values for a Focus AT&T/Rogers are:
2 600 -1600
5 400 -1100
7 1200 -500
(you can check by entering the device number and pressing Get).
Suggested values in the Omnia thread (to improve loudness):
2 1000 -1600
5 1200 -1200
7 0 -500
For my AT&T/Rogers focus, only 5-headphones seem to work (it's louder).
Anyone else?
On another note, Roger's speakerphone seems a tad louder that AT&T's, on the default values...

Don't forget to thank ballajalla for his post!
Good idea I wish more people used the different devices wiki's though, makes it so much easier to find useful information.
I stand corrected! (Back) Speaker is also louder, not just headphones as I originally stated. However, NOT if you play in Zune!
So: alarm sounds, notifications, calls/ringtones ARE louder, but playing a song or video in Zune is the same audio level as before! Maybe playing in Zune is on another Device gain value? (different from 2, 5 or 7)
I still don't see a difference in call loudness but that might be me
Everything sounds much better except for Zune video for me as well. Actually playing a movie trailer in an app like Flixster is terrible too. If my volume is under '12' I can't hear anything...have to turn it to max (30) to hear. I would love the values to adjust volume for video playback if there are any. Also has anyone noticed any improvement with sound auxiliary out to a car stereo? That volume seems extremely low also.
Has anybody been able to increase bass through this diagnosis app?

Best audio setup for simple car audio/speakers AUX?

Hello xda,
I, as I imagine many other people in this forum, love hearing my music while driving. It's soothing, makes the ride easier and all in all can be a great experience. However, things can always get better.
I'm using my Galaxy Note 3 along with Poweramp music player and no additional SoundFX or anything. Poweramp is adjusted in the "Bass and Treble" preset, bass is halfway up, treble is 3/4 and StereoX is halfway up as well. Sound is pretty nice and bass is nice as well, however, I feel that the sound could be waay better than what it currently is, I love a nice, booming feeling bass (none of that cracking bull) but it lacks in that department.
My car has a simple radio with AUX entrance and 4 pretty normal speakers, I know this will certainly limit my experience and I currently do not have the resources to improve this aspect of my audio, but I was wondering if anyone here had reached a good setup or preset for listening music in your car's audio that you would like to share. I would be very glad to hear about your experiences and current setups.
SoundFX apps, Music player apps, Equalizer presets... all that stuff. I'm looking for a nice clean booming bass and clean trebles, not interested in distortion or drowning the higher pitched noises in exchange for lows. Share with us!
Just in case anyone came across this thread and was interested in improving the sound experience of your low-end car audio system. I found a very good mix for my phone. Clean punching bass and great treble. Remember that most likely it will not sound the same in your vehicle due to all the variables involved. But give it a try nonetheless.
Viper4Android settings (thanks to yung40oz84 for most settings, I just made minor changes. http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-htc-one-m8/general/viper4android-settings-low-car-speakers-t2929697):

Used PowerAmp. Equalizer is FLAT, bass and treble 1/3 way up. No StereoX. Limit enabled. Remember to disable direct volume control and enable musicFX in Poweramp.
When playing music, go to Viper4Android, go in menu and tap "Driver Status".
In processing it must say Yes. Otherwise, V4A is not working. Try enabling compatible mode and rebooting.

Smart Doorbell Monitor

Turn Your Old Android Into A Smart Doorbell Monitor
Look kids, you don't have to be Bill Gates to enjoy some of life's greatest luxuries. You guessed it, I'm talking about doorbell camera monitors! There's a good chance you have an extra Android phone or tablet laying around the house. If you're the type of person that's always peaking through the blinds to see who's at your door, then this is definitely for
you.
If you're unfamiliar with smart doorbells, these little devices replace your current doorbell with a camera that streams live video over your network or the internet. You can use them as an intercom to talk to the intruders and hear what they say with the built in mic. Each smart doorbell will have an Android app that can be installed on your device. You'll use the app to see the feed from your smart doorbell.

A Great use of your unused Android device is to use it as a dedicated doorbell monitor. You can mount it right by your door or somewhere that would be most convenient to you. Just connect it to the charger and use a Velcro strip to position it on your wall. Turn the screen timeout to "never" and you're good to go.
This is a really cool way to put the phone that's collecting dust to good use. If you want a setup like this but don't know where to get a smart doorbell and you can't be bothered to google it, here are some of the best on the market right now.
SkyBell $199
RING $199
August $199
ROM
Is there an Android ROM that can do this? I have a couple of old, old Huawei Sonic U8650 that need some repurposing.
Ideally you'd need the screen, camera, network, speaker, microphone, the app and possibly storage for "visitor mail". No need for all the other bloat.
Just thinking about it though, the U8650s only have a camera facing away... So could debloat that crap out of the ROM too! (Where's the efficiency these days in coding?).
However another idea: For example, you have the doorbell phone on a pedestal at your driveway and a visitor rings it and walks in, then the camera video records for "xx" seconds while theyre walking in... Motion detection is a possibility too...
So many options.
Cool idea. I'm gonna try this but ofcourse I need help doing this

2 questions new head unit install

Hi all-
at one time I was interested in converting a tablet into a head unit, but lacked the know-how so I finally just bought one from ali express and installed it; android 4.4 and I can't post links so you can
use the ali search and enter: 2 DIN Android 4.4 7 Inch Bluetooth Audio In Dash to find the specific unit that looks like

For the most part, it's great- but I have two questions that would make it even better
(1) I can play music and audiobooks (two different apps) over bluetooth, and the audio is perfect. When I get bluetooth calls though, it starts with a blast of static and then nothing- I assumed it was a mic or feedback problem, but I just played a voicemail recording from the phone AT&T "visual voicemail" app, and it did the same thing even though that is just playing a recording and shouldn't be using the mic at all. Does anyone know what if there is some other difference between 'audio out' apps that might cause some to work find, and others to have problems? There are rear ports for audio input, but I don't think those replace the mic, so for now I'm stuck with external troubleshooting (I'm not ready to take it apart and start doing surgery on the unit)
[EDIT: it also plays the audio from Google Maps with no problem]
(2) The unit has a very long splash screen- so long, that I can get out my 150' driveway and down the block before it goes away and allows BT to connect to play my audiobooks. I looked through the menus but haven't found a way to shorten that screen. I realize this may require rooting if it is not a publically available setting. Where should I be looking (or is it stored in a file somewhere?), and if rooting is required, how does a newbie like me figure out the best options for rooting, preferably leaving the rest of the OS as-is so I don't accidently jack up the reverse and forward camera functions, etc?
I'm not a frequenter of XDA, but this seems to be the most knowledgable place for this type of thing- so I appreciate you pointing me in the right direction
Many thanks!

[VIPER4ANDROID] CleanAir - Universal Viper4Android profile for Apple AirPods

Oi, mates!
After browsing the interwebs for a couple of days in order to find a good Viper4Android profile for Apple AirPods, I ended up empty-handed so I decided to make my own profile aiming to be universally better with as many different genres of music as possible.
As usual, here's a warning you likely won't read:
I am not responsible for your damaged AirPods, ears, phone speakers blowing up or if your software decides it doesn't like you. If you come here and tell me I broke something of yours, I'll tell you to sod off. You're responsible, not me.
Click to collapse
Having that out of the way, let's get into the details because that's what you came for anyway.
The profile is the result of a couple of days of adjusting and fine-tuning the Viper4Android Bluetooth profile so it matches the AirPods. While AirPods are similar in design to the old, wired Apple EarPods, the hardware differs greatly making old profiles obsolete for the modern hardware. If you still want to use this profile for EarPods or other hardware, go ahead but it will likely sound like ****e as this is a very specific profile.
I've tested this profile numerous times with everything from Vocaloid music to polish Disco Polo and out of 135 songs only 2 sounded odd in some way making this a very universal profile that should work for most people.
The profile mainly adjusts the equaliser as well as Viper Bass and Viper Clarity, but it does have some other settings to give the sounds a bit more "oomph". You can play around with the settings but I don't think there's much more that can be done as I really played around with everything possible and any changes just make it sound worse in my opinion, but you may disagree and it's your device after all so do as y'all please.
To get the best effect out of your AirPods make sure to disable absolute volume in developer settings, otherwise, the headphones will be very quiet. I also recommend AirBattery which doesn't affect the audio quality but fills in the gaps regarding functionality with AirPods on Android. Check it out for yourself.
Lastly, enjoy.
Do you have a profile for V4A 2.7? Or screenshots of your settings to recreate the profile?
