Android 6.0 is being uploaded to AOSP - Moto G General

Android 6.0 is being uploaded to AOSP:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/10/05/android-6-0-marshmallow-is-being-uploaded-to-aosp-right-now/
@Alberto97
 @Flashhhh
What do you think ? it will be difficult to port it over ?

Too early to say.

I hope I can find some custom rom after Android 6.0 release.....

The 2nd gen moto g is being updated via motorola to 6.0, the first and second gen motos are pretty much similar in every aspect part screen size and camera. Roms have been ported over from the 2nd gen to the 1st gen before so it maybe done again for 6.0.

Lets hope for the best...

CM13 branch is created, also with falcon device tree repo (https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_device_motorola_falcon/tree/cm-13.0)

I don't have any knowledge about building Android. But I have 2 questions:
Why the compile can fail ? There are no drivers ?
If compiles then we need to see if it's boots and if at least 2-3 things are working. like wifi, or something like that. I am just interested.

Millions of lines of code -> millions of possible reasons for failure.
Also, the closed source libraries (lib/hw/* and vendor/lib/*) could be incompatible and workarounds may need to be found and implemented.

If you compile it and it works then post it

This could take weeks or even months, not a few hours.

If anyone needs beta test I am available and only send a private message

first, the downloaded sourcecode was only about 2gb (normal AOSP sourcecode is more than 20gb)
then, they are still updating many repos, you can watch them update https://github.com/CyanogenMod

ok so then we have to wait at least 1-2 weeks to get Android 6.0 on our device...

Avoid the impatients
Lets avoid asking for builds and ETAs please, remember that devs have jobs or study to do, and sometimes being bothered about when they will release something could annoy them.
Rule 4

I'd be open for testing any kind of builds in the future, although I have the xt1031 boost variant but that might help out too for certain things

So our Moto G 2013 will receive the Android 6.0 with CyanogenMod 13 ?

FirefoxOS runs on Falcon without issues.
Main constraint I found was the lack of my main apps on Android, but the OS runs smoothly and is pretty usable.
Marshpop Rom
Hey it seems this needs to be moved to the Development thread.. But just to inform you all, I'll be doing a custom Rom for the Moto G using Marshmallow and Lollipop... MarshPop is what it's going to be called... It maybe released as soon as I work all the bugs out of it... Expect it in the near future though! Since Marshmallow is basically Lollipop with Added features I maybe able to work all the issues out!
Cheers to all of the Developers! P.S. I've worked on the Transform Ultra from Samsung!
Thanks for Participation in reading!

well when google released 5.1 they added native dualsim support as far as i remember there used to be 2 builds for our phone on 5.0 (one for dualsim and the other for single) but with 5.1 released we started to get unified builds due to native dualsim support on 5.1

MultiSim support has been added into kitkat 4.4
Google improved it in 5.0/5.1
And they just provide UI support multisim so you won't get multisim working without the msim framework
Moto still providing different build for single and multisim devices

Actually, nobody will work with it because it needs a lot of hard work, and there's no free dev avaliable to such task. The closest this community approached from MIUI was v6, which can be accessed here. Ps: RIL doesn't work.
To build a ROM we need the sources. I couldn't find any sources for LP. On there githun there is only kk so no it will not be possible at all.

Lineage OS?

Do you think we will have a lineageos build for huawei nova?
That would be great, but first we need a rom base for any rom....
After my exams in february I would like to try porting Lineage OS to our huawei nova...but thats not a promise, it's an "Let's try and hope.."
Too bad there was not activity on this phone yet.
I really really hoped this gonna replace my Nexus 5 ( the >5 inch / 70cm width trend sucks - phones are just too big!) - but nooope..
I had it already in the hands, good that I didn't bought it. But I maybe would if someone would work on it
Once huawei releases kernel source I will start working on it.

Did they release those for previous phones too?
I figured since this is a snapdragon device the chance for roms will be much higher. Since they don't really release anything for their own chipsets iirc.

I have flashed the ROM from the link you provided. Its a buggy ROM. NFC error is popping up making it impossible to navigate. So i had to unzip the ROM file and remove NFC folder. Again zipped back and flashed. This time i was able to navigate through settings. But SIM card wasn't getting detected. There was no Theming option for which Paranoid Android is famous. Its a ported Developer version and isn't completed. Wish someone could take it up and maintain !!!

[Q] when we get android 8 for our nexus 4?

hi friends,
do you know, our nexus 4s get android Oreo by nitrogen or lineage or other roms? if yes, I know stable android Oreo version will release mid august, when we get custom rom?
we can't know this
When it comes fyi: asking for an ETA is kinda rude on xda
wait till October or November probably for a decently stable ROM
Excitedly expect first android Oreo Rom for nexus 4 on september 17
and first 32bit snapdragon android oreo port, fully work
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73494285&postcount=1356
so, now we have very big chance for our nexus 4...
and first nexus 5 android oreo port, booting and wifi working now, one similiar devices too
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73538437&postcount=6286
for now has boot problem but after all the first nexus 4 oreo
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73594437&postcount=231
I have compiled android 8 and I managed to get it booting(lots of changes on kernel and device tree). Need a lot of work but mako probably will get a fully fuctional android 8 rom.
good news
thanks for good news,
and maybe co-operation accelerates this work

Just for my own curiosity, how do you know what changes need to be made to the device and kernel tree? Do you use officially supported device/kernel trees as a reference, or is there a guideline posted somewhere?
