Battery life, experiences - Xperia Z5 Compact General

Hi all,
After a few days of using the Z5c, I must say I'm disappointed in the battery. It's coming not even close to factory brag specs (that's no surprise though). What does surprise me a bit, is that it upholds for barely ONE day. Back-to-back comparison with my old Z3c, all things (apps/usage characteristics) being equal except for stock ROM in Z5c and aosp ROM in Z3c, shows that the Z3c performs at least half a day longer!
Any other experiences with this?

This is interesting, if a little concerning. I'd be keen to hear feedback from others.
I had a Z1c, then switched to a Samsung Galaxy Alpha which has horrendous battery life, even more so with Lollipop (I flashed back to KK), I'd be happy with something in the middle probably. I believe the Z3c was quite a jump over the Z1c so hard for me to judge from what you are saying.
I guess we can expect battery to be worse on the SD810 vs the old SD800/801, despite the token battery bump. Maybe a future Android M update will go some way to helping, though that is probably some months off unfortunately.
Can you please share a screen grab of the battery screen on your device, showing screen time, apps usage etc.
Thanks.
edit: I have a Z5c on pre-order already, I'll add my thoughts when it arrives.

I would say my battery also lasted for about I day. Last time I charged it was yesterday and now I am out of batteries. I hit 15% a couple of hours ago. I will report back in a few days after some more charging and using.
EDIT: I should say I had A LOT of application running in the background, more then I would normally have. I usually kill apps I do not use, not just leave them in the background to preserve battery.

Yes, me too. I've now run into different trouble (not connecting to PC Companion, ANT HAL service corrupted, and more...) so no good example as "ordinary daily use".

With my first charge I got almost 2 days - configuring phone, installing apps and my daily usage. To compare, with my daily usage on my Nexus 5 I got through day with few percent to spare.
When using normally there is no problem with power consumption but graphics heavy games or camera app can make the phone really hot and battery drop fast.

So far getting 68% after full day of use, some phone calls, Spotify via Bt, few calls, updates, 3 push email accounts, etc. It's very similar to my old z3c. I expect 2-2,5days of battery life

Mine is very dissapointing too, my z2 lasted at least twice as much

I've been using phone for 5 days now. It has to be charged every day. STAMINA mode is on.
Daily usage:
- few calls
- some sms/hangout messages
- reading news/fb
- endomondo + gps - 1 hour running
Result:
43% screen,
12% Android OS (maybe a GPS?),
10% gReader,
6% Endomondo,
6% Cell standby,
4% Phone idle.
Current status:
Now on battery: 19h;
35% battery left - approx 12 hours left (according to battery info)
I'm a little bit disappointed with battery life so far.

perhaps you should check which app drains battery most. from my experience fb messenger is battery eater. disable Wi-Fi scanning, check if any of games you downloaded is set to send you notifications. phone is really good and I don't think your particular phone is worse - you just need to configure it!

I don't think you should do it at all, just google for some android tweak hints, disable any bloatware you don't want, disable notificatitons for apps you don't use or don't wish to send you notifications.
if you have to, install clean master and set saving battery option so it will kill any background tasks when screen off

Sure. I've looked at FB/Messanger but it only ate about 2%. I know all the battery hint, thanks.
Stamina mode turns WiFi off on screen off.
Anyway, the battery tricks are for other topic. Maybe I'm just playing with the phone to much, since it is new

Screen on times?
I regularly got 7-8 hours of SOT with my Moto X Play which I returned after two weeks for refund in favour of the Z5 Compact (mainly due to the size difference). Obviously I'm not expecting quite that level of battery prowess, but I'd like to see at least double what my Nexus 5 currently offers (it wouldn't be that hard to achieve with an average of 2.5 hours SOT).
In any case, I get mine delivered today so I'll be able to chip in on the battery front soon.

I'll check tommorow.
I have another issue. If the STAMINA mode is on then the WiFi should be off like in info:

So after locking phone the battery info shall show the WiFi off when the screen is off right? Or is it made off in other way that it is not seen by battery info? See on the bottom of the screen.
Anyway the indicators show that SCREEN = off but WIFI = on

Search the forums for the Z3 series and Z1 for many posts that explain how Stamina works. It doesn't stop Wi-Fi. It doesn't allow apps to connect to Internet.

Poor battery life !!!!!
I come from a Z3 Compact and are very disappointed with the battery life. 2 days ? but if barely arrival until 15 pm using it as before and with the same apps. I do not understand how a phone so publicized and expensive might have a bad time. I know very well the Z3 Compacct and arrived safely in the evening but this new Z5 is really a bad purchase !!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope that the problem is the firmware...seem no go to deep sleep or new snapdragon wrok very bed.

I had very ****ty battery life for like 4 days, but since yesterday it's performing better, right now I'm at 60% with 2:30 SOT and it's been 22 hours off the charger. Hopefully it stays this way. I still believe the z3c has better battery life though.

Legend battery life

Hi to all!
I'm thinking of buying either the Legend or Desire. There are two things that are important to me. The battery life and storing applications on the memory card. I suppose that the latter will be taken care of by the upcoming update to Froyo (if it ever happens!). How about the battery life? How long does it last on the Legend? Would anyone have any experience with the Desire vs the Legend on this? All comments appreciated!
Thanks in advance!!!
I don't have experience with the Desire but my Legend performs battery wise as expected from a smartphone I guess.
After the last update I discovered for example that leaving Google Reader open in the browser in the background drained power, so I now leave the browser always on the google homepage or kill it altogether when I'm not using it and I've seen an increase in battery life.
Anyhow, I give it a pretty intense use, on a work day I listen to podcasts on it for some hours at least, I connect it to my car bluetooth on the commutes (40 mins average total), read email, etc. And it lasts me the full day without problems, usually ending the day with 30% or more battery left.
It obviously depends on how each one uses their phones, as tricks like the Reader one I mentioned can make a difference.
The Legend seems to have slightly superior battery to me. My legend ends the day at about 30 percent after 2 hours of Bluetooth stereo playback, and plenty of latitude use and web browsing. My partner's new desire ends the day about about the same but without the music playing I do.
I was jealous of the desire when my partner bought it but If I had the choice of legend or desire again, it would be a hairline decision to buy legend again. If Legend had live wallpaper I would choose legend without doubt.

My battery life is even better than my old dumbphone. With medium use and pretty stringent management (ie. a task killer, bluetooth and wifi off unless I need them), I can get about five days on a charge.

Are you sure you are using the original battery ? I have never heard anyone reporting 5 days on any smartphone on even minimal usage. Legend seem to give 1 to 2 days max on minimal usage.

I have on two occasion to manage get three days but five days? Naah, not with the original battery.
Well if you disable APN the thing can last 5 days, but with net connection active definitely no way.
I can believe he gets 5 days out off this phone. I can get 3 days out of it with very good reception, some hours of browsing and 20 texts a day. Almost no calling and 3G always on AND WITH A GOOD TASK KILLER I always kill almost every app before putting it in standby you just need to know what you can and can't kill.
I can do 3 days with low use (maybe 10min calls and 20sms a day) and APN off most of the time.
With APN on I don't think it will last more than 2 days max
Just to clarify, I do turn off my mobile internet unless I'm using it at that moment, and yes I'm using the stock battery.

Sure, if you turn everything off it'll last a few days, but then might as well carry a dumbphone
Hey all,
I've been using Azure 1.0 on my Legend.
In case anyone is wondering what battery life is like on this ROM [I know I wanted to know before I decided to run it...] :
I've just got the best usage for this ROM in terms of battery life, since I started using it [0.5].
I haven't gone for Azure 1.0.1, and have stuck to 1.0 as I didn't have any APN issues...

Voice calls = 1hr 3m 15s + SMSing
WiFi = 6hr 46m 46s
For the hours that WiFi was not on, Data [H/3G] was always enabled.
Approx 1hr 45min of browsing
Approx 10 emails received and replied to
Battery life was pretty poor when I first installed the ROM.
Then I used SetCPU to help....but it didn't seem to help too much...
Now I am seeing better battery life, like the above.
No idea if this is good/bad for this ROM, but for me, its the best I've seen yet....
...though still probably not as good as I first saw on the stock ROM before the update which messed up the stock SMS app was pushed out...
18 hours ~ 24 hours average. 1 and a half day or so if I'm lucky.
2G network. only switch on 3G when it's needed.
Wi-Fi, gps and bluetooth if needed. If not, it's turned off all the time.
always leave my Trillian (MSN/YM/gTalk) turned on almost all the time (like 75% of the time).
WhatsApp for 24 hours.
Mail fetching every 4 hours.
Twidroyd fetching every 15 minutes.
Urbandictionary widget fetching every hour or so.
15 minutes of call average.
Texting about 10-20 times a day.
And data counter widget running all the time.
Rooted and using a nice clean ROM called "CleanEclair 1.6.2"
Got a good Task Manager too.
It's definitely better than my old iPhone 3g.
BUT, if you are asking "Desire or Legend"
I may choose desire for it's better hardware.
PS: Sorry about my bad english.
Just to echo previous statements about battery life, I too get an easy 24 hours from my UK Legend. It usually has at least 30% charge left when I plug it in at night (10-11pm), this is from about 6am. As I type this as 4.30pm it has 69% left.
I leave data and wifi on all the time but only enable GPS & Bluetooth when needed. The phone connects by wifi at home but is in a marginal 2G location when I'm at work (cheers, Vodafone!) so probably has to work quite hard to keep connected to the network.
Google services and Twitter update constantly, Facebook every hour.
Don't run any task killer apps as I found they made naff all difference.
I do watch how many browser tabs I have open and what's on them thought as I notice that some pages really suck the battery dry.
Navigation is the real killer on the Legend (or any Android I guess); the combination of screen on, GPS enabled and heavy duty data use means it can go flat in as little as 3 hours. A power cable in the car will only supply 500mA, rather than the full 1A that a main scharger will, so it only really slows down the drain on the battery.
Other than that I expect the phone to fit my life, not the other way round. The effort that some expend to micro-manage their battery life really baffles me!
I get terrible battery life...
Typically 7-8hrs , now I use it for work but today I did 30ish minutes of calls, + maybe 1hr's worth of reading emails, sending data etc etc etc.
From looking at the "battery" part of the settings/about screen I can see that Display seams to be the thing EATING the battery..
is this normal?? I do use the power widget and put the screen down as low as it goes when I can however im really shocked at the power usage..
Ive tried using a task killer (advanced task killer) and JuiceDefender and neither make much difference...
any comments?? am I being realistic? I used to have a blackberry 8900 and it would easily last me a whole day , doing the same email load, websurfing, syncing etc, might even last 1.5days but I tend to plug the legend in whenever I can....
Is this normal???

Yup. Try lowering your screen brightness and see the difference. Screen and gps is the most battery-hungary.
Everything depends on how you use your phone. Try to avoid GPS and max screen brightness. And always remember to kill aps with any of the app killers, after you finished with it.

Good advice. Except on the task killing. Google around why task killing is not healthy for your phone.
my battery doesn't seem to show the correct level...I can charge it overnight on the mains an in the morning it has only got to 38%. Take the battery out and it goes up to 60ish%. Phone will last about a day, but can't seem to get a full charge into it.

How is your Galaxy S4 battery two years on?

Mine? Not very good. Battery lasts an average of 8h with SOT 2:00 (on a good day). I usually take it off the charger at 7:30 at 100%, use it on the way to school and use the school WiFi all throughout the day. Play during breaks a bit and use it to take notes at times, and it's usually dead as a doornail by 4pm. Recharge it, use it to play games and browse the internet and dead again by before 10pm. Battery has already been swapped twice for a new one as both previous ones bulged (one alarmingly so), while on weekends when I use it with data out and about, it gets me to around 6pm, but by the skin of my teeth. How's yours doing?
why don't you provide us some screenshoots of your battery stats?
battery,screen,general usage etc
maybe we can find out why you are loosing so much energy.
If it's still performing well after 2 years, we may have a new breakthrough in battery tech.
Pretty much the same here ....
100% at 7 am ... about 25% at 5 pm ... with 4G connectivity on, work emails sync every hour, whatsapp+viber+wechat sync on.
I have a Galaxy S2, I had to replace the battery after 4 yrs, so I am sure that another year on, I will have to replace the battery for S4 , at which point, I will change my device
My GT-i9505 is also about 2 years old, the battery wasnt that great ever, but lately its been feeling like it drains even faster, so i ordered a replacement battery, genuine one, and their cheap, give or take 10-20 £/$/€ delivered. I plan on using the phone at least another 18 months, maybe 24 months+, no reason not to really, with that battery you can replace, unlike so many other modern mobile gadgets. Having always used either Otterbox Defender or Seidio Dilex on the phone, it doesnt even have any wear'n tear on it, looks like in day 1.

If I do an early summary of your settings, this is what I believe:
- you have too many apps installed. The more apps you have on your phone, the more apps are probably syncing with their online services. (Try wakeup detector or better battery stats from playstore)
- A high screen brightness on the S4 is leading to max 2-3 hours Screen on time. Try auto settings.
- You don't have good reception ( look at the grey and maybe also the black signal reception) Switch to 2G Edge network if you don't need H+.
- If you add that your battery is getting old by probably 20% max, than we can say that your stats are quite natural.
Just think about root with only two apps:
- Greenify (for stopping background drain)
- Afwall (for stopping background syncing of apps where you don't need access to internet like games)
You can also try one thing:
Reset (maybe do a backup with helium backup before!) your phone and use only 4-10 really needed apps for 2-3 days. Then you will see how or bad your battery is.

[Discussion] OnePlus X Battery Life Thread

This thread will be for battery discussion related to the One X. At this point we're only speculating, but it will also be a great place to post battery test results from reviews, your own battery life results, and general discussion about improving battery life.
I started this thread because I'm interested in the One X, but assuming that with 80% the battery capacity of my OnePlus One (2,525 vs. 3,100mAh), the OnePlus X will probably have ~20% less battery performance. It will help that the One X has an AMOLED screen vs. LED, so dark pixels are not illuminated, and it's screen is smaller, thus saving some energy. Maybe we'll get 85% of the OnePlus One's battery performance
Just to start a little speculation before the reviews begin rolling in, there are two flagship devices from 2013/2014 that are somewhat comparable (~5" screen, 2,x00mAh battery, SnapDragon 80x SoC):
Google Nexus 5 w/2,300 mAh battery
Samsung Galaxy S5 w/2,800 mAh battery
HTC One M8 w/2,600 mAh battery
Just picking one review site's battery test results (it doesn't matter which one--almost none of them reflect actual user experience accurately), the S5 gets 7h 38 min, One M8 7h 12 min and the Nexus 5 4h 50 min. That's a huge range, but I think it's reasonable to expect the One X to average them since it's battery size is closer to the One NexusM8 and Nexus 5, but it has an AMOLED screen like the S5--so around 6 hrs 30min by Phone Arena's test regiment. The OnePlus One did 8hr 5min by Phone Arena's regiment, so ~80% of that would be 6hr 24min for the One X.
If my speculation is reasonable (iffy at best ), then the One X should have some pretty decent battery life for a 5" device.
Enough speculation for now. Waiting for the reviews to start coming in.
It has AMOLED display, 5" instead of 5.5" screen, a slightly underclocked version of the CPU used in OnePlus One, and when it gets Android 6.0 there are tons of battery related optimizations, I don't think there is reason to be worried...
Also with underclocking CPU and GPU with combination of undervolting will give you a great battery life. Amoled display won't illuminate dark pixels and that's also a big plus over here. With OPO i get around 8h of SOT it 2 days of moderate usage.. messaging, music and that's it mostly. OneX will be same as OPO i think. Smaller screen, new android, kernel modifyfing and you'll be able to get aroung 7-8h of SOT I'm sure
This is the same SoC Qualcomm MSM8974AB that has been used by htc with M8 and Sony in it's Xperia Z2 with 2600 and 3200 mAh battery respectively. as I'm currently suffering low battery backup with Galaxy S6, I'm bit skeptical whether to go with one X or not. If one X manage to reach minimum 4 hrs. SOT I will buy this phone as I already received the invitation.

SOT is extremely variable depending upon personal usage habits. I don't know how you could possibly find out if you would get 4 hrs with your usage habits before having the device. Maybe find somebody with an X and identical usage habits to you?
Incidentally, the Phone Arena battery test is done with the screen on, and they're getting 6-7 hrs out of similar devices.
We measure battery life by running a custom web-script, designed to replicate the power consumption of typical real-life usage. All devices that go through the test have their displays set at 200-nit brightness.

I'm afraid it won't be enough
I live in Rome, so I'll have the chance to buy a OP X the next 11th November event but the battery is the only thing that is stopping me at the moment. I come from a ridiculous Galaxy Nexus battery life and I'd love to have a real long battery life finally. I was interested in the ZUK Z1 for this reason but I'm kind of used to the AMOLED technology and I don't want to go bigger than 5.2" for the display. Please guys post anything you know about the battery life even if iI'm afraid it will be just average and nothing special. 2500ish battery is not enough nowadays.

I have nexus 4 and its sot is from 3:40 to 4+h. It has 2100mah battery.
It is enough for me to last a day.
Just hope that custom roms will be available.
That will let me to adjust some settings.
Just had a conversation with the chat team, here is the conversation.
19.54.41 GMT - Client said : I am also a bit concerned abou thr battery on the oneplus x, it seems a bit small. Are there any official numbers on how long the device csn hold charge. Screen on time, etc.
19.57.04 GMT - Operator said : The device has 2,525 mAh LiPo battery. Pretty much it'll be good for one day. It is normal for smartphones that has LiPo battery. Overall, it'll just depend on the usage of the device, so to lessen the battery usage, one of the best way is to reduce the brightness of the device and to force close all apps that are running.

I know its vague but i'm now pretty sure it'll get me through a day... Also because i'm a light user
I got this phone for almost a week and it has 4h sot of heavy usage. From 7am to 11pm. It's good but not amazing. This is enough for me at least

Yeah. I will wait for proper kernel then uv, uc and make gaming profile shortcuts with tasker then i will get battery and performance when i need it.
If manufactures would be smart they would make profiles available in the statusbar. Just simple battery saving, normal and performance tabs.
Also wishing that the alert slider can be customized. Just realized that it woulf be awesome if the alert slider could handle performance profile.
More than 8 hours 1080p video playback
Hi all,
the german online mag Golem.de states in his review:
- more than 8 hours continuous 1080p video playback with 1 battery charge (for comparison: ZUK Z1 made 9 hours with 4100mAh in same test)
- gets easily over 1 day usage
First day use!
Am i the only one getting such a bad battery life?? Or should i wait to test it again after a few more days??

Try sleeping in a little later. Getting up before 5AM is probably what's killing your battery
interested in getting the device but would like to see the performance of the phone in real life ... battery life would also tell its capabilities
According to this test, the battery life is not bad. But I don't know this site, and i'm not sure it could be trust.
edit : I can't post link. Search for "fonearena oneplus-x-battery-life-test" and you will find it.

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium Battery Consumption

Hey guys, I recently bought the chrome version of Z5 premium dual.
It's been almost a week and I can safely say that I'm disappointed by the battery.
My Z3 dual almost gave me 2 days of battery life with moderate to heavy usage, Z5P dual is far from that.
Take a look at the screenshots below.
It barely gave me a day with moderate usage, I didn't even play any games during this period.
I'm not sure if the 5.5 inch 4k screen is its friend or a foe.
I'll conduct more tests and share the results.

thank you for this
Screen on time??
It would be great to know the Screen-on-time and the brightness you've set for the screen.
Some point i think needs to be cleared by OP:
1. From the graph it's not charged fully to 100%?
2. First charge? I think no wonder..
3. Clean Master? 3GB of RAM and 32 GB of ROM and OP still need one? It obviously will take some battery power to do monitoring and cleaning..
But overall, Seeing more than 24 hour battery life time is quite good actually. Maybe not as efficient as Z3 but it's been the norm for all 810 devices. Only SOT part is needed here. Good news is when OP is asleep, the phone is sleeping too

I did charge it to 100%
Screen brightness was set to 50%
As far as clean master goes, its rather a handy app to remove whatsapp and some other apps from from the active apps list. It's a necessity for me, might not be for you.
Another update, I removed the secondary sim card from the device and the standby time improved considerably.
Using a single sim since yesterday on 3G mode.
Hey guys, I did a 720p video test. Here's the result.
MX player pro
Brightness set at 10
Volume set at 15
Handsfree plugged in
Both sim cards active
Battery dropped from 100% to 66% after 1.5 hours

Its like sony has gone back to to life before the z2/3 as far as battery is concerned. No more excellent battery life just mediocre - average.
how about battery stats for single sim? really curious as I am planning to get one myself when it gets released in my country.
just so you all know this phone has octa core so don't expect it will handle 2 days use of battery since once all 8 cores are working it will drain battery 2x faster or so than z3 would take as quad core.
But cpu does stopp some of it's cores when not needed then it will say Stopped on other 4 cores or if it says sleeping depending on which app you use to check.
I guess Sony might have solved heat problem of the S810 but not batter.......
This is not a phone for you if you watch movies or videos all the time.
Mine is 2 weeks old now, after extensive usage I can safely say it lasts comfortably for a day on a full charge with normal usage, without watching movies. If you do watch videos or movies it'll drain out in 7-8 hours.
So got my Z5P yesterday and I am not impressed with the battery it drains quite fast and I have power saving on and brightness around 25%
Any screen on time from full charge?

Yea it's definitely disappointing, one of the primary reasons I purchased it was for the larger battery. I really didn't think it would be so average! I honestly find myself using my z ultra around the house on Wi-Fi. I think if I had a sim kit to revert back I'd regress lol. It's battery is growing on me now, and I just received my case in the mail today so I can stop treating it like an infant!

Same here and the bigger screen, I had the Z5 before and wasn't impressed with the battery on that and the premium is hardly any better even when I am not viewing photos or videos, even just sending texts or on whats app im just watching the battery drain so fast, it doesn't even drain so fast on my ip6s or gs6. I don't know if its just because of the S810 but there is no other android phone i like this year with a big screen (5.5 inch+) they are all just disappointing imo.

I think yesterday mine was around 5 hours SOT. Mostly whats app and texts but my iphone can do about the same and so can my s6. This battery lasts only a bit longer overall than S6 or iphone on the same screen brightness, power saving and usage and having a much bigger battery. The S810 must really be rubbish, i would have rather them cut the 4K screen and used a 808 processor as for a 3430mah cell the battery life is dismal. I had the Z3 before aswell and the battery life made me love the phone can't say the same for the premium, Ive only had it two days and i dont like it already but i cant keep changing phones so i gotta ride it out until next year but on this basis this is definitely a phone I will get rid of in around 6 months time unless some serious battery improvements come.

It's not the extra cores that drain the battery.
CPU cores in mobile phones are very small (4 or 8 cores) and if u compare that power useage with a 5.5" big screen you'll get my point..
@arjun.arora
Don't close your apps so often. I see u use some cleaner app. I never liked those apps, I just closed my apps in recent app menu but since android lollipop it is not recommended to close apps at all - android manages this for u.
If u just let all ur opened apps open for a couple of days u will see the device gets smoother and faster and maybe also more juice friendly
(E.g. every app u kill, need to be opened at some time. So when u don't kill, it opens faster and doesn't need that much power to open)
I don't know why, but it's finish faster 100% to 65%. Then it's goes to 0% slowly. I am a heavy user and it's give me at least whole day with 8 hours screen.
Hi guys. I've had my premium for about a week now and everyday with approx same usage I am only getting 3.5 hrs screen on time! With and without stamina mode. Same
Do you think there could be something wrong with the device
Thanks
Managed to get this on my first charge using it heavy all day on data only.
Not too bad.

Only 4.5 hours of screen on time

everyone's getting 6-7 hours of screen time while im here getting only 4.5 hours or barely 5 hours.
i have Bluetooth, 4G with good signal and location on all day

That's not bad for your use...BT and data on all time drain quite a lot of battery, not to mention Facebook app and Messenger are also notorious battery draining apps. Also I see a gaming app on the screenshot you posted that drains lots of juice. Location and GPS also drains quite a lot of battery over time especially coupled with Facebook. Instagram isn't battery friendly either...
I get 9/10 hrs SOT over two days with Wifi Always on and a really basic usage...WhatsApp, web browsing and Instagram...so nothing very demanding.
I suggest you to restrict some apps in background (like Instagram)
Social media. Battery AND brain killer.
I was on Beta 4 and was also getting around 4 hours SOT, wasn't good at all. Flashed a custom AOSiP rom yesterday and i've doubled my SOT with same stuff enabled such as Bluetooth etc.

Agree.
Fb and messenger : facepalm get the fb lite and messenger lite or there are other apps for it available too, i am all day on Bluetooth and location at work.. and still easily gettin more than u
I was in the same situation like your sir . Before to change my sim card. I can't confirm 100 procent but after I swap to Vodafone UK my battery has improved I got always 6 hours and half . Now I can enable volte I don't know if this improve some battery life but for sure now I get like in general 6.30 hours with WiFi or without WiFi with Bluetooth always on .
Before to switch I use to root my OnePlus 6t and change the themes to black amoled black wallpaper custom kernel and more to get 5 hours .
This is in my case I don't know if this applies to you . Can be your phone can be anything
Same issue with me
When I use location , 4G and dual SIM standby with moderate usage I get only 4-5 hours this includes 1- 1.5 hours of Google maps , PUBG 1 hour and casual browsing + YouTube should I ask for a replacement my unit is brand new only a week old and in 24 hours I get only 4-5 hours SOT

Facebook and Instagram suck your battery like a vampire sucks blood.
9.0.12
10 h was conected to smart watch at work facebook videos autoplay in my case no problem with batery
I have WiFi, 4G and Bluetooth (always paired with Amazfit) turned on all the time. I've noticed that when I'm not doing much (for example 2h SoT) and phone stays untouched battery drains almost the same when using phone a lot (5h SoT). It doesn't matter if I use my phone - always drains almost the same. If I'm all the day on the phone I could get 6-7h and of course my battery drains faster, but lasts for minimum 24h. Not using my phone - sometimes more than 24h but less than 30h on battery (with 1h SoT).
I don't know what's going on... From "draining apps" I'm using only Messenger. Adaptive battery is off, battery optimization turned off only for "messaging" apps like Telegram, Signal, Slack and Messenger.
GPS is turned off, sometimes only I'm turning hotspot on for 15-20 minutes.
I'm on 9.0.12.
Anyone got some tips?

Do you bought it via OnePlus? If yes, try to contact the support and tell them your problem. If the phone is literally new, they tend to repair for free.
Stock kernel sucks dude. Use a custom.. I get 11 hrs sot.
I'm getting 3h of SOT lately (data/wifi on, no bluetooth). When I check the usage details it states Google play services using 75%.
Also got from a typical overnight drain from 2-3% to 5-6%.
Started behaving weird since the 9.0.12 if I recall correctly.
Stock, no root. Don't like it at all.

Flash RenderZenith kernel and use some alternate apps for Facebook and messenger at least. I can recommend friendly app. There is also friendly for Instagram but without messenger.
You might wanna try out servicely app to restrict app background usage and wakelocks.
