nexus 10 or iconia a210

Should i get the Acer or nexus
Acer cost 300$
Nexus cost 400$
I'm stuck with 300$ but will the price go down after 6 months?
In 6 months you won't want the Nexus 10 anymore because something better will be out.
But the nexus 10 is a very powerful tablet
It has the next generation Mali T604 which i think is very strong GPU
Nexus 10. More features and faster processing capabilities are enabled with nexus 10.

As opposed to the Acer..?

[Q] Average storage space available in a brand new 16GB N10?

Hey Guys,
I'm thinking in getting a Nexus 10. I currently have both Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 16 GB. So far for me in the N7 16 GB has been enough, I'm not a big gamer and consume most of media (movies, pictures, music, etc) from cloud services, the lowest space I ever had was 3 GB available.
That being said, I'm thinking in getting the 16 GB Nexus 10, I really think that 100 extra bucks for 16 GB more is too expensive and if the Nexus 10 of 16 GB has at least the 12 GB available when new I think that would be enough for me. Can anybody share what is the storage available in new 16 GB nexus 10?
What is you opinion guys? are 16 GB enough for this scenario?
Thanks for sharing your experiences!
p.s. there is also the fact that the nexus 10 supports OTG, so I can connect external storage devices if required.
13.05GB

Google Nexus 6 - What do you think?

There are already many rumors about the next generation nexus smartphone.
Current rumors of specs are:
5.9 inch display
snapdragon 805
Latest adreno gpu
3 gigabyte of ram
2k display
What do you think about it?
Will you buy it?
When do you think it will get released?
Do you like the size?
Probably NO I don't think it will be octa-core, that is way too exotic at the moment (as far as I am concerned). If there will be a new nexus probably it will have something around the Snapdragon 801 this year.
Either way the processing power should be more than enough on what we have on the N5 the brighter future would be optimizations in the OS and probably better hardware builds (new materials, etc.).

I`ll only buy the N6 if it has the new Nvidea 192 cored K1 chip, anything less is unacceptable
As said on another similar (also closed) thread, rumors and speculating at this time are pointless. The rumors, leaks and expectatios of most websites seldom come true as history shows most of the times.
Honestly, if the new nexus doesnt have atleast have a 780ti equivalent gpu, it will fail, it better have atleast 12gbs of ram with a 32 inch screen. and if it doesnt make me smoothies, ill pass
I think 3GB of ram and just the latest snapdragon CPU at the time should be fine - no need for 2K screen - Will just destroy the battery

Well, obviously N6 will be a LG phone again. LG Odin SoC has 64-bit octa-core version, so it is quite possible N6 to end up being octa-core 64-bit phone.
If the N6 is going to be the first Nexus with 64 processor and OS, then Google please call it N64, that would be awesome

Wouldn't a phone with solar panels be awesome?

Better question, would a Nexus 6 be a tablet or a phone?

Will it be called Nexus 6 ? The number represent the screen.
Not sure that google will make a 6" phone. Maybe it'll be like the Nexus 7 ? A 2014 version of Nexus 5 ?
Didn't they say there will be no more Nexus devices, only Play Edition?

I would reply to this..but typing is a **** on my Nexus One.
Of course, flagship device at half the cost of other flagship, although all the nexus devices have at least one subpar area to keep the price down. Galaxy nexus was build quality, nexus 4 was it's camera, and nexus 5 was it's battery. I wonder what the nexus 6 can bring to the table.

Lmao i was thinking the same

- 6" screen with QHD resolution
- 3 GB of RAM
- 4000mAh battery
These specs would be nice, I´d love to have a really big phone like a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 but without any Knox or similar restrictions
My guess:
Same 5" Screen (1080p)
Snapdragon 801 or whatever the latest is.
Improved graphics chip of some variation.
Improvements in the wireless chipsets.
2GB Ram
Improved Cameras
Slightly larger battery capacity.
Those rumors are ridiculous. It will probably have a snapdragon 805 and be released in October/November just like every other nexus phone.

Are you guys serious? The Nexus 1 did not have a 1 inch screen. The second didn't have a 2 inch screen. The number is the generation of the phone not the screen size. We don't even have a full 5 inches on our Nexus 5s it's 4.95. Got to love using my 1 inch screen sized Nexus 1. Yup the number definitely represents screen size.

more like nexus 5 (2014), unlikely they will bump up the specs much
These silly arguments start around the same time every year. Two years ago it was the Verizon crazies guaranteeing that Verizon would get the Nexus 4. Last year was the best one. The Kandy Kane Krew. "OMG did you see the Candy Cane in the Android version Easter egg?!?! 4.4 will be Kandy Kane!!"
Now it is the screen size naming convention. C'mon man. Screen size has never named a Nexus phone. Sure, there is a Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. What will Google do by then? Who knows...probably not use a number, just like they have two other times in the past (Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus).

The Nexus 10 is suppose to have "2GB" of ram, but my Nexus 10 only have "1099"

what is problem?
android 5.1.1
Round it up and it's 2gb
Mine is also showing 1GB of Ram and its runs slow. Is it supposed to have 2?

In later software releases, they decided to allocate more of the ram to the video. Search this forum for a more detailed answer if interested.

I remember finding this out a few years ago and being pretty upset at the time. The tablet advertises 2GB of RAM, and yet about 1GB of it is only usable for the expected advertising purpose.
It's like me advertising my computer has 12GB of RAM, meanwhile, 4GB of that is dedicated to the GPU (which on it's own isn't really a problem, but it would make more sense to advertise 8GB)
Even then it would still be 12GB.
Let me get a little technical.
If you have an APU based PC, the GPU is on the same die as the processor. So when you use the GPU portion of the APU, it will use the RAM. How much? It depends on the load.
You can still use all of it though, so it isn't a problem. When you aren't using the GPU, all of your RAM is available.

[REVIEW][PERFORMANCE] Nexus 5X vs OnePlus X speed test! Battle of the Xs!

Hey guys,
Check out this video comparing the speeds of both the devices and find out if that less 2gb RAM really matters that much. https://youtu.be/j3J2DNHIbR4
OnePlusX only has the SD801 and it's still mostly faster. The 5X would have really been future proofed for a while with another GB of RAM.

No, it's running stock OxygenOS 3.1.3 without any tweaks.
Definitely seems like the 5X was doing better until a few apps were in memory, and the redraws began. One extra GB of RAM would have been huge for the 5X...
I would have considered buying the OPX, even with the older SoC, but the lack of band support for US carriers was a dealbreaker.
I had OPX and I've changed it to Nexus 5x because OPX "wasn't" compatible with concrete pavement The thing i miss most is that 1 GB of RAM. Nougat is doing his best to open apps from memory as soon as it's possible but form time to time there are small hiccups and I have about 300 mb of free ram available (it's quite low IMO). Nevertheless, OPX was very delicate and I loooove low-light capabilities of camera in N5X.
