[LG LEON LTE] Low mic gain/volume for everything (calls, whatsapp, recording...) - LG Leon Questions & Answers

Anyone else suffering the same? Mic gain is SO low compared to other devices. I'm comming from Moto Defy and I can totally hear the difference. Other people even tell me the same.
Is there any way to adjust main mic gain on Android? I will root this device.

OP has created a fix for this issue. The fix can be found here

Nexus 10 Microphone / alternatives?

Hi,
I've had a lot of trouble with the in-built microphone in the Nexus 10. Whether using Skype, Hangouts or other VOIP apps the sound is best described as muffled as if I am in a large room and a distance from the microphone. I through at first my case may have been covering the microphone but removing it has not effect. Then I found https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=42263. Unfortunately, there seems to be no solution. Has anyone had any luck improving microphone quality or getting Android to switch the default microphone?
Failing that, are there any decent substitutes? Do generic usb or bluetooth headsets work?
Thanks,

I have been having the same issues with my mic too. Really seems just like a bad design and placement. I was looking for some kind of app to some how boost the mic input, but there is none. I use a stereo Bluetooth for most of my needs but I always don't have it around. If you figure or anyone else does out any other type of fixes please post.
Yeah, I'm begging for a solution, too. This is just a damned stupid bug - and the fact that neither Google nor Samsung feels responsible for it is just sad.
We are in the same boat people. Maybe this could be resolved using custom kernels?
Could anyone please have a look into this? I'd be infinitely grateful!
Downgrade
I had this same horrible microphone quality in Skype problem with Lollipop 5.1 on my Nexus 10. A factory reset didn't help.
The answer: Downgrading to Kitkat 4.4.4 from the Android Developer's blog. Perfect microphone quality after that.
Not a great solution, but works until Lollipop is fixed.

KitKat headphone mic bug?

Hey guys, I'm having a problem with KitKat (4.4.2). As it turns out, my mic on my earphones stop working or is in extremely low volume. This hasn't happened before on Android 4.3, anyone have a solution? I have a friend who just received her Moto G running KitKat and has the same problem too. Nexus 5 also suffers from this problem, with a video to prove it. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSDI4u2Yq7g) Time: 32:10 There is a solution in which you have to hold down the button on your earphones while plugging it in, but as I asked, is there a different solution to this? Like a software patch? Thanks.
LG G Flex KitKat killed call quality
Major problem, my LG Flex is useless as a phone now after KitKat.... I can hear callers clearly but they can't hear me at all.... I Sound like echo/reverb box to them. The problem is so bad that I can't use the LG Flex now and had to switch back to Moto X. Hope someone finds a fix soon. Thanks

Oneplus 2 microphone issue

Iam facing an issue with my op2 microphone .microphone is not working while making call.the other end person can't hear wat am saying.even if I switched to loud speaker it's not working.its always showing muted mike icon during call.but when am shooting video and all its working fine.I believe that it's because while recording video phone uses both the microphones.so my question is this.. can I disable one microphone completely and use the other one for call(all purposes)?I saw some videos of op1 in YouTube where people are showing ways to rewrite system root information for enhancing microphone sensitivity..is it possible to do that with op2?
Pls help me guys

how-to-microphone-gain-increase? (Mixer_paths.xml) Android 6

I have an microphone- issue with my Note 4.
It has 3 Microphones. The Mic on To(rear mic) works fine its active when Recording Videos and phonecalls over LoudSpeaker but the two mics on the bottom (front mics) have some issue and are really quiet.
I have to scream when i do normal phonecalls and also in whatsapp nobody understands my voice.
First i thought it would be some dirt in the mics, but i cleaned them and the issue is still there. i know that i can change the Microphone Sensibility in the mixer_paths.xml, i just dont know the details and values.
i also tested with" Hi-Q MP3 Recorde"r some settings. i can increase there the front mics on the bottom 20db+ and then the sound is fine but its just in the Voicerecord-program and not in the system.
So its not a real hardwareproblem that forces me to change the mic or the phone.
So i need to know which values i have to change in the mixer_paths.xml and how to do it step by step and i know that some more people have that problem.
i hope for your help and i know that this board has some real good programmer and experts.
THanks

Sound problems with the microphone in calls

Hello friends:
I have an LG G6 that works perfectly, but I have a problem with calls.
When I make a call, I'm heard very low. I tested with two phones together, with a sound meter, one takes out 20dB more than the LG G&.
I already changed the microphone with its full flex, but the problem persists, I guess it will be something of the motherboard or software. I try to cancel noise options too.
I have seen on this phorum that modifying a file of an LG G5 could increase the minimum level of the microphone, thereby gaining sound intensity:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/how-to/fix-mic-speaker-mode-call-t3565646
In the LG G6, what file would it be? Is it possible to do so?
Thanks for your help.
