Yes, but who knows if this thing will ever see Marshmallow, but for at least the next year to year and a half, the vast majority of Android devices in the world will be running Lollipop, so I'm not terribly concerned about it.

Confirmed 5.1.1 Update on my P907A just now.. and works with Logitech pro keyboard as well!!.. Very nice!!!

I am ju... sniff... just so happy. Tears of joy...
In reality, its about GD time!

I'm rooted, i have had it fail twice now and it won't check for the update for another 24 hours. It even downloaded and all, restarted, fail.
Sorry questions, but do I to format and then update.

If you're rooted, you'll need to wait for someone to make a flashable zip. You can't take an OTA.

Would formating let me do the OTA, as in would it unroot me? Im fine with losing everything and being unrooted.

No, it wouldnt. Formatting only wipes data and cache. Rooting modifies your system partition which is why the OTA is failing.

Holy crap is sammobile slow. You have to pay to get a decent speed. It limits it at 15kbs. Hopefully it will be done in a couple hours.
Thanks for the help, odin DL took all of 3 seconds. It's been a while since i've used it but i think i remember.

When you download the firmware, make sure you're using Odin 3.10.7. Unzip the file you downloaded (it's a .tar.md5 file in the zip). Then, in Odin, click on the "AP" button, select that .tar.md5 file, make sure the tablet is plugged in via USB, and flash away. It's that simple. Once you get the stock firmware flashed, you'll probably want to do a factory reset. Then the software update should go off without a hitch.

its doing its little thing after the flash. i noticed it still said custom android at the bottom when it got done. up next factory reset though. thanks again.

The status won't change until the newly flashed ROM boots up for the first time. Afterward, it should change back to official.

4.4.2 KitKat Update is Live!!

I just saw on the EVGA forum that 4.4.2 is live, and I'm currently waiting for it to download and install... SQUEEE!!
I see I'm not the first to notice this, hehe... didn't see everyone else's posts buried in other threads... oh well, it's such a momentous occasion that it deserved its own thread
No OTA Notification??
I haven't got anything, that sucks. I unrooted just to get it.
is anyone able to pull the update before rebooting?
Edit: i just found this on the EVGA forums from an employee.
"Important Update:
The new Tegra Note 7 OTA is being temporarily halted due to a bug found while upgrading from 4.2. We expect it to be resolved shortly. "

You need to have stock recovery installed and it needs to prompt you to update. Or go to about tablet and check for updates

Nope stock recovery doesn't have a interface to work with. So that is no way to flash it even in stock. Must be prompted.

FYI, after update and initial reboot, my device was extremely unresponsive. Rebooted it a second time and it was fine. Perhaps this is the bug they are talking about...

I have been using US customized firmware without any issue with Hangouts dialer. But after I flashed to Nordic's latest, it stop working with error msg 'phone calling not available temp something...'. So I wonder some countries' firmware might have impact on that...

Do u guys think I can simply OTA Update my rooted 256 fw? The Update is only 19.8 mb in size.

Thanks for the Feedback! Figures I lost it anyways (and the Recovery with it) even though I made and flashed a pre-rooted firmware from recovery as always. Whatever happened there. Gonna have to roll back to KK tonight, get Recovery up and running and then finally retry flashing the a newly created pre-rooted FW from my FTF file.
Really quite annoyed at this right now. Could have just OTA`d and the result would have been the same. Hopefully no big Security holes for some time. Not big on wasting several hours, just to get my phone running the way I want it to run.

.264 error power off
after upgraded to .264, my phone was down, cannot power on. any one faced this problem
So I ran the OTA and after it installed, all the apps that I had moved to the SD card were no longer on my homescreens, and I cannot even search for them in the Google Now launcher app. They are still in the app drawer but I have to manually scroll down and find them. I can't just type in their name?? Anyone else have this issue? I am totally stock, no root or anything.
I had something similar. With all apps on the sd card initially being unavailable. After maybe 5 minutes the phone rebooted itself and now all apps appear to have been restored to where they were prior to the update and are once more able to be used

Does this affect/patch the root method we have for the Sprint Note 7?
Even if you update, you should be able to Odin back to the root file...as you can odin back to the original official tar. The update only adds wifi calling and some smaller fixes.
I have the update, have not installed it. I am not rooted, so don't know how to pull it off for others. But will be glad to if someone tells me how on my unrooted phone, if possible.

Out of curiosity, where on the phone was the download stored?
Oops, just read more carefully, you don't know where it is. I have pulled them before, but don't remember where. It's not the obvious places like "Download". I think it was in a cache folder. Use a root explorer and look around in the system folder.

I'm pretty sure it is downloaded to the system folder somewhere (cache maybe?). Without root, you'll never get to it.
I figured as much but it seemed like people were interested having non rooted people look.
It's odd cause this is the first non rooted phone I've ever had. I'm holding out to see if we get the boot loader unlocked and custom roms. If not I'm going to skip root this time around.

I'm in the same boat. I need my Gear S to work and it doesn't with the rooted rom we have now.
I'm surprisingly happy with it unrooted. I did buy Adguard, because I can't stand ads. Other than that, all good. If my plan didn't include HotSpot, it might be a different story.

Not sure my phone can live though an update to Nougat. It took 6 months before Google fixed the random reboots on MM (PG1 was the first really stable ROM). PH1 runs fine, just keep the security updates coming a while longer.
Can anyone confirm, that this update doesn't mess up the wifi tethering mod.

No. You have to be on the official unrooted and completely unmodified stock rom with stock recovery for it to work.
Can someone upload this?
Where did you get hotspot mod from? I didn't find any PG1 hotspot mod. I am running PG1 stock debloated rom by saintz.
I still have hotspot mod from before marshmallow 6.0 update ##data# with msl code. After marshmallow the fields to edit are now greyed out. Mine is still intact on stock rom.

The battery life on this particular update is horrible. PG1 was the best update till date by Samsung on Marshmallow.
For guys on PG1, my suggestion would be not to update to PH4.
Also, PG1 has the best signal reception & voice quality.

[Discussion] OTAs on Rooted Huawei/Honor phones- Confirmed

Saw many post from new users and senior members as well and most of the time there are lot of confusion on the OTA part, especially for the rooted phone. Few says it gets (I am one of them) and few says it doesn’t as rooting capabilities modifies the system boot.img and also we have unlocked bootloader so device wont get the OTAs. I have been using the Huawei/Honor phones for 2 years now and have been getting all the OTAs on rooted phone and confirmed the same many time but still there are lot of confusion and users thinks they wont get OTA on rooted phone.
Just confirming here that you will receive OTAs on rooted phone without any issues. This is 2nd update on my phone since rooted in past 2 months.

Note- I am not using any firmware finder or other things for this as I dont trust on FF as it messed my Honor 5C in February and I given up on it.
Instructions-
If you are rooted but then rolled back to stock recovery, just download the OTA and update.
If you are rooted with TWRP recovery, flash the stock recovery first and then download the OTA to update. (TWRP wont be able to update OTA)
