LG D802 on ICS boot looping since last night if auto SYNC is enabled - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been happily using my phone on stock 4.4.2 EUR for last 8 months. This morning I woke up to find my phone constantly rebooting as soon as I enter the SIM pin and it lock on to a cellular signal. After a lot of trial and error, I have found that if I immediately switch to airplane mode before entering SIM pin and then switch off auto-sync the phone, and then turn my mobile signal and data back on (by turning off airplane mode) the phone is fine.
As soon as I turn on auto-sync it goes into loop mode again. For the time being I am keeping sync off, but has anyone else experienced this suddenly?
Makes me think it is connected with some automatic update that Google sent to my phone overnight for their Play services or such.

yes, I have the same problem. Please see my post about it.
Now I wonder how to fix it

Thanks
Sorry for late reply but found out that if you clear the data for
Google Services Framework and
Google App
this resolves the issue. These are located under Settings / General / Apps / All

GPSD Issue

Hi
Since yesterday my gs4 battery as been draining quickly. When I looked at the battery stats I noticed it to be the GPSD wakelock that doesn't allow the device to go to sleep. My phone is not rooted. I reset my phone to factory defaults but the issue is still there. When I switch from wifi to 3g the issue is also still there. I also turned off location settings and gps. Not sure what else to do... Please help!
Exactly same issue here. Also since yesterday. Wtf Any ideas?
Sent from my GT-I9500 using XDA Free mobile app
It's probably an app that is constantly updating your location. Apps like weather widgets, even that samsung find my phone app. Try to look for apps like that.
I used to have this problem and it cause by my network provider 3G signal(2100mhz). My temporary fix for me that time is switching to 2G signal(900mhz) and waited for them to fix the issue.
You can troubleshooting by turn on airplane mode, to disable mobile signal. Then reboot your phone and use your phone normally but leave airplane mode on and see whether GPSD wakelock present. You can turn on wifi.
If there is no wakelock present, you probably have the same problem as mine.

LG G2 crashes and reboots when data or wifi is on

Hello, today my LG G2 D800 began to act strangely.
When Data or Wifi is turned on, it crashes and gets stuck in a boot loop indefinitely.
When data or wifi is turned off, everything works fine.
I do not know what would cause this problem. I booted to safe mode to see if it's an installed application, but it still crashes when data is turned on.
I did not drop the phone or have any other physical damage.
I am running 4.4.2.
Any help is appreciated. I googled about this problem, and nothing similar comes up.
I suddenly encountered this issue today after recording a voice memo.
Straight after accepting it, my phone started into a reboot loop. I spent a couple of hours trying to figure it out, even tried to get into the recovery mode without success.
It wasn't until I started turning things off, wifi data sync etc that the phone started operating again.
One by one i turned them back on again and it turns out that it was the auto sync causing the reboot.
Currently it's off and I'm writing this on it, but I would like to turn it back on again.
Any ideas?
I have same issue. Just started today. As soon as phone starts to auto synch it reboots. Switching off wifi or data links stopped this until I could disable auto synch in settings. I think its something to do with the new Google update. This really sucks!!!
Same happens to me also i am running a 442g on lg g2 d802 since yesterday evening bam autosync got screwed
Wow, I disabled autosync, and then turned on data and it's fine.
Thanks for recognizing this. Who would have thought that it could be that?
Now that we have recognized the problem, how do we resolve it?
Clearing all data of the Google App resolves the boot loop issue.

It looks like clearing all data of the Google App seems to resolve the boot loop issue.
However, what looks like a sync icon is constantly on, the battery seems to run out faster and the phone is warmer.
In the Settings go to Apps
Find and select Google App in one of the columns
Select Manage space then Clear all data
Enable sync, connect to the internet and check if this resolves the issue
Delete and return google account to resolve on-going sync issue
As described by user webfrank in a post titled "g2 d802 reboots when sync enabled" at Android Central (as a new user I cannot post links) in order to resolve the on-going sync issue perform the following steps:
Delete Google account
Clear data from the Google App, Google Play services, and Google services Framework
Reboot device
Reconfigure the Google account
Hmm, is there no other way to resolve this problem?
Why do I need to delete my google account and readd my google account?
What do I do if I have multiple google accounts added? Do I need to remove them all?

I found that clearing data from various Google apps was not enough to resolve the continuous sync issue, while disconnecting the phone from the Google account is not such a big nuisance.

WiFi-scanning every few seconds with WiFi off

Starting today, my S7 Edge has a problem when WiFi is turned off: every two or three seconds, the WiFi turns on for about a third of a second (as shown by the WiFi quick-settings icon). When this happens, the phone gets warm (even if otherwise idle) and the battery drains rapidly.
The problem disappears if I turn off the Location Accuracy setting that scans for WiFi networks even with WiFi off. But it shouldn't be scanning constantly even if that setting is turned on--it's using much more power than if I just leave WiFi turned on.
Turning off the WiFi Location Accuracy setting also fails because then, when I use a location-enabled app such as Google Maps, it pops up a message asking me to turn on Google Location services (which is already on, and the phone has a good GPS signal). If I tell it to go ahead and turn location services on, it then turns WiFi Location Accuracy back on and the constant scanning resumes.
So there's clearly a bug, but the problem is very recent and my phone (AT&T) has not received a recent update.
Has anyone else encountered this problem or does anyone know how to fix it? (Rebooting doesn't help.)

Same issue here, started yesterday. I'm on T-Mobile, and have had no new updates to the system.
I saw this was happening (on other threads) to other phones, not just Samsung phones.
Same here in France with SFR, it's very annoying ...
Hope we're getting a fix soon!

Here's a video of the issue I've been having, which I believe is the same as the one you're describing. My WiFi switch just constantly turns on and off, and I am unable to connect to my network. I have found a way to get it to connect to my network by first clicking the WiFi Direct button (when it's clickable and not flashing), and then when I go back, the list of available networks shows just like it normally does, and I am able to connect. Turning off WiFi again, would then reproduce the problem though. It started happening recently after the latest update for me. I'm non-rooted, completely stock for now.

Oops, sorry, I see now that there was already a thread here about this problem.

Mobile Data turns off during phone in idle mode (locked)

I have a coolpad cool 1 c103 with stock ROM, the only thing that bugs me is the fact that the mobile data automatically turns off when you lock the phone and stays off until you unlock it and start using it again. This causes issues with mail, and whatsapp messages not receiving until I manually unlock the phone to check for it. I understand that some battery/data settings is the reason behind it, but I can't find the option to turn this off.
Note:
Power saving mode is off
Data limit is off
battery assisstant is off

No Wifi whilst in flight mode?

Hi, I'm running a rooted stock Oreo (version 8.0.0) and I've just discovered that when I turn flight mode on, if I then turn wifi on, I get the pop-up message "In flight mode" and the wifi icon in Quick Settings stays a light blue shade but Wifi doesn't actually turn on.
I may be mistaken but I thought this was working last year and I haven't done any updates to the phone.
Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
Kind regards,
Mack.
Hi, I'm pretty sure you can use this:
SystemUI Tuner - Apps on Google Play
PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE INSTALLING
play.google.com
One of the settings allows you to tune Airplane Mode.
Just to update - I think there must have been some kind of data corruption... I did a factory reset and it all worked correctly again.
