Desire 820(s) what megapixel to use for best photography - Desire 820 General

So if full screen option is selected the max MP are limited to 9MP. But if you go along with 4:3 option you can take photos at full 13MP. Which option do you prefer & why?
Personally I think full screen is a bit better when viewing on mobile is considered but otherwise full 13MP would take better pictures due to higher MP count.

Well . i personally use 10 and google camera because of the 16:9 wide view .
the 4:3 "box view" seems a bit to outdated for me .. give it a try

Interesting. Thanks.

There needs to be a petition sent to sony stating that we want the compression to be user adjustable. Right now for a 8mp photo the max image size is 1-1.4mb. So small so much lost detail.
I hope they fix this issue when a new update comes out. Losing faith in sony as a decent camera phone.

What are your camera settings?

Just realized that I have been snapping pics in the 6 MP mode which I'm assuming was set from the factory. I switched over to 13 MP, but that affects the field of view.
What are you all using for your camera settings?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
I prefer the 9.6 MP settings because it shoots in 16:9 vs the 4:3 setting the 13MP setting utilizes (which is the reason the 13MP puts the black bars on top and bottom of your screen, because your screen is 1080p wide screen 16:9 :] )
I haven't found a true need to shoot even that high to be honest but I figure might as well use it since its there

Camera tests ( low light, day time)

Looking for someone to please do camera tests with the note 3 since it now comes with some enhancement to help with low light situations and everyday photos. Please post.

My only question is how many megapixels were those shots for the note 3. And it seems to gather more of a area of the photo!

From memory I took those all in maximum resolution on widescreen aspect ratio.
Also I've since upload a couple more comparison sets.

from the note 3(N9005) pics exif its clear it is using a new cam firmware........D13QSGH030A which differs from both I9500 and I9505 and my gut feeling is that in N9005 snapdragon version samsung might have used samsung sensor(bcos smasung camera modules have SGH codes) which might be capable of recording 4k videos while N9000 exynos might use the same IMX135 exmor RS sensor as used in I9500 without 4k recording........

I think 4k recording is purely based on the CPU, etc and not on the camera sensor. 13MP is 4808x2704 and 4k is just 3840×2160(8.3 MP) and only CPU should be able to make it shoot thirty 8.3 MP shots per second(i.e, 4k video at 30 fps). Pls correct me if I'm wrong!

dual shot won't work

Hey I was trying the camera on the note 3 and it won't let me click dual shot button ? It worked before because when I got the phone I tried it also I did the new software update last night maybe that did somthing
Same here. And camera is slowest than my note 2 and even my old s2. One once processing, once not. Both ways is super slow.

I fixed it go into manage app for camera and clear data then it works
I had the same..had to click front camera and set auto..then back camera to auto. It then let me use dual shot!!!
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
it happens because your video recorder is set in 4k format you need to set a lower resolution and then the camera will allow you to use dual shot function

Not much better than the GS4 at all, now if you have a GS3 hell yeah, but not so much for the GS4. I might just keep my GS4 and wait for the Note 4 or see what the new HTC M8 and LG G3 have to offer and get one of them maybe..
You also get the new textured back but whether or not you prefer it depends on taste really.
The only downside when compared to the S4 is the increased size due to thicker bezels and larger screen. This is probably more than counterbalanced by the other upgrades though.

source? I just found it strange that Samsung had to include it in their keynote as if it was "S5 feature only".
