Can you root the 928I ? - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it worth keeping knox intact ? and if its not so important, is it possible to root the Samsung S6 Edge+ 928I ?

It is possible to root the G928i but not without tripping Knox. If you care about Samsung Pay or Android Pay don't root it. Otherwise I think Knox is pretty useless beyond maintaining a software warranty.

Those things i'm not worried about and i've never used. Is there likely to be an engineering bootloader for the G928I do you know ?

Does Samsung still use Knox counter?

Does the Galaxy S7/Edge have the knox counter or has Samsung seen the error of their ways and switched back to the binary counter?
I think Knox.
still use Knox. Why would they switch away when they are still adding knox to their phones
I can't imagine why it wouldn't. It's advertised as being secured with Knox so I'd imagine so.

Still no way to root S7 edge without tripping knox?

Read about it. Maybe someone got news about this?

S8 G950F Australian Warranty

Hey all im new here and i came from a nexus 6p. Im eager to root the s8 but since this is my first samsung device i have been doing some research about KNOX and the warranty and that it apparently voids the warranty. So really my question is by australian consumer law, does samsung still have to repair the device even if knox was tripped? Thanks in advance hopefully someone can clarify this for me. ?

TWRP/Root without knox 0x1

Hello. Is there any way to reset samsung s8 knox counter to 0x0, so all apps including samsung pay will work properly? Or any way to emulate KNOX 0x0 so it will be not visible for user.
Samsung Galaxy S8, Android 8, knox 3.0

You can fake Knox flag with custom roms and kernels, but once Knox is tripped it is tripped forever, there's no way to reset it, Samsung pay will never work even with fake Knox flag, been this way for a fee iteration of Samsung devices now.

Consequences of tripping knox

I just bought a T580 and seeing all the available roms for that devices (especially those enabling the 64bit part of the CPU) I am wondering what exactly are the consequences of tripping the knox counter.
For my Galaxy S8 I know that some Samsung apps will cry about the fuse being burnt but in a Galaxy Tab?
I have never used secure folder or something.
Is there anything other to look after while flashing these devices (apart from warranty issues)?
Regards,
Martin

For some odd reason I didn't even trip Knox on my tablet, at least it isn't *****ing about it. Last time I did was on my S4 a few years ago and I'd see it every time the damn thing booted (I think?).
Someone told me these tablets don't even have working Knox? No idea, but I haven't seen any indication of it having been tripped, despite having TWRP installed and being rooted on a custom rom.
I don't use any Samsung apps either though and custom roms don't tend to care about anything Knox
So unless you HAVE to use Samsung apps I think you'll be fine :good:
