I update from TWRP my Fire HD 6 from 4.5.3 to 5.3.3.1 with TWRP 3.0.2 without any problem

So theres not ANY other custom rom for ariel? Im not sure how roms work, but is there a way to get stock android? It would probably need to be ported, but there should be other custom roms out there, since the cyanogenmod rom has a lot of issues, like not being able to use the cameras or netflix.

Internal USB port
I'm thinking the internal USB was likely an aborted attempt to add NFC functionality the this thing. I'm wanting to build a case to add 2 external USB host ports without adding more than a half an inch or so to the depth. This should also let me add a secondary battery to the unit. If the internal usb is device only I might be able to bring that out and just use it for charging and connecting to my PC.

fire os 5.3.6.8 is out (7th gen tablets only) and amazon messed up again

This FW version kind of flew under my radar and probably yours too. This update came out almost a month ago and it's only for the 7th gen. remember when fire os 5.3.6.4 came out and everyone was calling it 5.6.1.0. well, that's because Amazon messes it up between their web site and what it says on the tablet. well, guess what, they did it again. (facepalm)
