Moto Apps: which are safe to disable? - X Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I bought the X Play because it's as stock as it gets, so I don't really need all the Moto Apps.
So I'm wondering which of them are safe to disable and which I should keep on...
Any clues?

Noone bothering with the Moto Apps?

The phone is very great one because of the very few Motto apps that work very well and adds very good added user functionality?
With the way this phone sips power, I can leave everything, exspecially google services, enabled and not worry about running short on battery.

I just left moto voice active and everything goes fine.

You also disabled the things like moto gsm?

I'd also like to know which Moto apps can be safely disabled / removed. Has anyone experimented with this and can give a full list?
Thanks.

Actually, my Moto X Play on MM 6.0 (probably responsible for this) refuses to be debloated and even system apps can't be frozen. Does anyone else has this problem?

The .zip for arm devices. Then go read the main xposed thread, as stated in the OP of the 5.1 alpha thread, and finally download the installer apk. Flash the .zip in recovery, reboot, install apk. Depending on your ROM, xposed may or may not work (Chroma is one of those it doesn't work on). It would also be smart of you to research what's working right now, as well as read the thread about fixing bootloops caused by modules.

Thanks for the info! That was helpful
YouTube AdAway and Background Player are working with latest version of YouTube. Greenify also seems to be working (I'll post back if I find any bugs with it). Here's a guide on how to recover from a bootloop caused by an xposed module.
Does xposed work with the require password to start device feature turned on?
I am using the following on Benzo Rom
APM+
Boot Manager
YouTube AdAway
XGELS..
Been waiting for xgels for what feels like forever, makes my nexus perfect when its working.

Never used that feature, where can i turn it on at and ill test it for ya.
greenify is now working with xposed 5.1 horraaaayyy
Dumb question. I never used xposed before and I am trying to install it on the stock image.. It flashed in recovery and said success. Then I opened the apk and it says framework is not installed.
What can I do?
I have tried yet!
Wonderful

Xposed on 7.0?

Hi,
has anybody tried to install Xposed framework on the 6P with Android 7.0? And if so, does it work?
As 7.0 is still a "light" Nougat-version, if I understand this right, it might be possible. But before I try and have to reset my phone, I dare to ask you for any experience on this.
Thanks for any input on this!
Br
P.
I don't believe rovo89 has updated to 7.0....So many MM ROMs had custom features baked in. I'm sure modules like Gravity were losing traction with users rather quick anyways. I'm not even sure if xposed has active development.

As a matter of fact most of the Nougat ROMs currently being maintained warn against using xposed on their ROMs ..

I'm hoping that we get support for 7.0

Nougat without xposed worths it?

Hi!
I actualy use MM with xposed framework installed.
The modules I use are greenify, appopsxposed, powernap, amplify, disable charging led, adblocker and fingerlock.
As far as I know nougat doesnt have a working xposed version so I dont know if it worth moving on to nougat.
I hate the full battery green led that light up my entire room while im sleeping but I can try covering it with something if the upgrade worths it but, how about battery life? will the battery life be better without powernap, geenrify, appopsxposed and amplify?
I believe not but I want to know the opinion of ppl who upgraded to 7.0 loosing xposed.
thank you
You don't need xposed for adblocker, greenify or amplify to work and most roms have the ability to disable charging led

Wrong - Amplify needs Xposed.
But Nougat battery llife vs MM with all that Xposed stuff will be better, worst or same?

You're basing this on what precisely? I used a Nougat rom for around 3-4 days without Xposed and in comparison to my normal MM build with Xposed the difference was negligible, if anything.

Past experience with xposed + amplify. I could be wrong but for me personally with N my battery has lasted the longest.
No worries, it's just that you stated it as if it was a universal fact, rather than just your experience.
Nougat without xposed
Hi , I'm new to posting here , anyway I have been using "Smart Network" to save battery since I don't have very good signal in my town (turning to 2G whenever screen is off , 4G when screen is on , plus other things) ,
since nougat has been out for a while can you guys let me know how the battery life is compared to marshmallow ?
I used to do that on Nexus 5 , now I have an A5 2016 .

'Cs code oriented' meaning it would work on s7 edge if I extract apk file of Contacts app from S8 that is released in my country?
That's right

No you can use latest contact but you have to install Galaxy s8 incall UI app (update the 3 phone apps ) there is flashable zip available, but root user only
There is new version in apk mirror which has contact icon (3.1.13.7). App installed, both contacts and phone icon updated to s8 icon. Contacts works, but when open phone, signal loss. However signal comes back if you wait. Tried to make call, signal loss again and phone reboots. Uninstalled updates.
same issue
i I have the same issue in the new version someone know how to fix it not to uninstall because y whant the icons on my s7 edge

Yes. I've posted a flashable zip but obviously you can only use that if rooted.
I don't believe you'll get that working with just APKs from APKMirror, unless I'm mistaken. To actually get the phone to boot with the S8 phone apps, I had to deodex the necessary files from the S8 firmware and flash them across.
Does anyone know of a way to make this application work in S7?
Samsung Contacts 3.1.16.4 Pela Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.
When we make a call the signal is cut off!
Any solution without root?

Pixel Experience vs Nitrogen OS

For me, both are really stable rom and don't have any noticeable bugs. But I prefer Nitrogen because of its customization features. Nitrogen don't support OTA upgrades yet and will be implemented in the future, but it doesn't matter too much for me since I can go for dirty flash or restoring apps and data from Titanium backup. Hope it helps you.
Yesterday I installed pixel experience through redwolf twrp, succeeded, but I am not able to use all important banking apps,. Saying rooted device can't open(AB TEJ), BHIM, PHONE PE, GOOGLE TEZ, HDFC PAYZAP all are opening but saying enter at your own """"RISK"""""

Install magisk and check the safety net.
If it's success, then the warning is not an issue.
If its not, then a magisk module is available for safety net, patch that.

Pixel Experience is for pure experience with Pixel Stuff - Launcher and Wallpaper etc.
Nitrogen is IMO better custom ROM .. better battery while having more features.
Beacon Kernel works best with this ROM and the kernel developer is using this ROM which gives it an added advantage.
