Tab S2 Samsung trade-in promotion (UK) £50 / £100 - Galaxy Tab S2 General

Always wise to wait a few weeks before buying any Samsung product...

So they want to give me UP TO £100 for a tiptop condition tablet I paid nearly £400 for a year ago?
That just shows the real value of SAMSUNGS tablets if that's all they are prepared to offer.

Nexus s Price Drop in UK

Carphone Warehouse has slashed the price of the handset from £549 to only £430 for the unlocked version, a price that includes delivery.
We're not sure why Carphone Warehouse and Google would cut the price of the Nexus S by £119, only days after it was launched; the move might be motivated by concerns about poor sales.
The phone, made by Samsung, is now a better deal compared to the Samsung Galaxy S, the phone on which it is based, one which can be had for £380 including delivery, only £50 less although a "refurbished" will cost well under £300.
We mentioned price as being one of the reasons why the Nexus S would be a failure and it looks that Google choose to play it safe with an early price cut.

Price Increase So Soon?

I've got melting plastic in my wallett, itching to be used. Given the prices from last week, £360 for a Galaxy Tab, I was trying to resist til the 14th to make my decision.
But today I though, nah, must have one. Playback my DivX... Hooked up the two websites and...
Nope, that's me put off for a while.
Carphone Warehouse want £399.
Tesco Direct want £449.
Clove want £442
Expansys want £499
PC World want £407
Amazon want £408
Scan £450
Ahh well. Looks like Im waiting for the Galaxy Tab 2
try bestbuy.co.uk, main page says 399, but further down it mentions other deals, such as tab+16gig upgrade+pay as you go sim for 359
There going for $250 on contract in the U.S.
I got mine for $50 from TMOUS! Great deals to be had stateside.

how did you get it for $50 Pittphan? i'm also looking to pick one up on contract. if i can get it less than the advertised $250 on t mobile i'd love to do so. thanks!
i just check tmo's site and it's increased $100 off contract. last week i was considering getting another galaxy tablet and it was listed as $500 off contract for about a month. now it's back up to $600 off contract - you do get $50 off if you order online though.
actually it seems the price changes depending on what page you view -
prepaid is $600 plus web discount of $50 off. LINK
"normal" contract says retail is $500 LINK
kinda stupid to list the retail value differently for the same product.

Galaxy Note Price

Whilst we await the official price of the Galaxy Note from Samsung there has been several pre-order prices from on line retailers suggesting it will cost around £600 which seems expensive. The pre-order price of the Galaxy S2 was around £550 which makes the Galaxy Note price seem more reasonable when the extra performance and features are taken into account. Samsung are hoping that the Galaxy Note will be able to replace the small smart phone and large tablet for most people thus making it a game changer. Only time will tell.
Well, it obviously doesn't say anything for certain, but here in NZ it's up for preorder at NZ$1169, an unconscionable ~$40 premium over the S2's launch price. (And don't bother converting that price to USD, we pay a lot more for tech over here.)
It was adjusted up to that value about a week ago, too.
I really don't think Samsung would price it *that* exorbitantly, outlandishly large phones don't sell well as it is (cough*streak*cough) so pricing it out of the reach of the people who do want them isn't a terribly sound strategy.

Free Galaxy Tab deal updated to cover Note 2 purchases

Samsung have updated their trade-in details to cover people who have recently bought the Galaxy Note 2!
I'm trading in my old S2 for a shiny Galaxy Tab! Saves me selling the S2 on ebay.
Details here:
http://www.expansys.com/samsung-trade-in.aspx
Other phones can be traded in too.
Pity the N7000 isn't listed as one of the trade-in models
Yeah I noticed this the morning I got mine. Although now because they except more types of phone each phone is valued. For my S2 they would give £170, £180 or £190 discount towards a Tab depending on which one. 7" would then cost £30 after the £170 reduction, I have seen the Tab 2 7" selling new on ebay for £160 and can sell the S2 for over £180 easily (£185 trade in at asda when I was checking).
It might be worth checking with your personal requirements but could be better to do it yourself.
