WiFi Stuck on
I have noticed that even when WiFi is switched off, WiFi will continue to show in battery stats. I have turned off the scanning always available option and turned off the WiFi sync options. Anyone else had this issue? Is it to do with android, the phone or router? Any help would be appreciated.

After doing some further investigating it appears that this is an android bug. I also seen to have the "mobile radio active" bug. Currently Google services has kept the device awake for 7s but mobile radio has been on for 10 minutes. Does this affect all moto play devices? Will amplify fix this by limiting Google services? Btw I have switched off every possible option with regards to sync for all apps

How to turn wifi completely off??

Yes am wondering how can i turn wifi completely off??
If i use google maps and then i go back to home ..i can see the wifi widget toggle says that is 'turning off' yet..i had gone to settings and specify for it to be turn off?
I had gone to settings too and specify to only receive data from gps and not wireless (just in case is trying to scan for a wifi router)
so has any body come across this? or has anyone found a solution for this?
It's a bug with the current firmware, when you open google maps the wifi is enabled to help fix your location faster, it doesn't matter if you disabled it in the settings. It seems fixed in newer fw versions.
I noticed the same behaviour on my SGS too, but it's not due to Google Maps.
Everytime when I use the phone, the first few seconds it tries to turn off wifi. I made sure wifi is off everytime I finished using the phone or when I'm not in a wifi zone to save some battery.
This is pretty annoying.

[Q] Battery drains when connected to certain WiFi network

I'm having a problem that has persisted across my last 2 devices, my previous Nexus 4 and my current Note 3. When connected to wifi at work, my phone will not sleep and is manifested by "Android OS" awake time show up in the battery information. Today I did a test, 1 hour with wifi on and 1 hour with wifi off. For the hour wifi was on, Android OS kept the device awake for 47 minutes. For the hour wifi was off, Android OS kept the device awake for only 2 minutes.
From my research there seem to be two possibilities:
1) A wireless router problem--outdated, incorrect settings, etc.
2) High volume of data that is broadcast to all devices across the network--something on the network is repeatedly pushing data out to my phone and waking it up.
I've ruled out an issue with the phone or an issue with a particular app, as this problem only manifests itself on this particular wifi network.
Unfortunately, since it's the work wifi network, I don't have access to router settings, hardware, etc.
Does anybody have any ideas how to remedy this or am I just going to have to avoid connecting to wifi at work?

[Q] Wifi continuously scanning while phone has good wifi connection.

This started Feb 3rd or 4th. The phone will connect to the wifi network, with a good signal. It will then re-scan every 5 seconds or so. This is causing all sorts of data transfer issues from downloads freezing to apps losing connectivity while running.
I am running on Verizon.

I am now running Android 5.0 but had NOT updated to 5.0 when this problem started.
I scoured google a bit and found an ATT forum that is essentially reporting what I am.

All other devices on the network are operating without issue - phones and computers - as was mine until now.
I have power cycled everything.
I have checked the routers settings.
The phone has been power cycled several times.
The phone has had every wifi setting that would be causing this scanning, that I know, disabled.
The following are off in Wifi > Advanced:
Wifi notifications
Passpoint
Always allow scanning
Smart network switch
I then, after the above, updated to Android 5.0. The issue still persists. Help me please.
My device does this, too. Cant say I have ever really noticed, I dont know if it has always done this or not.
I am not experiencing any issues like you describe.
Now that I think about it, I think it will always scan at a set interval when you enter the Wifi settings. It assumes you are looking for a network to connect to. I doubt its scanning when you are not in that setting.
I had this problem the other day. I went to wifi settings and had it forget the network and then rebooted and reconnected to my wifi network and it seems to have resolved the issue. others have just switched airplane mode on and off and this fixed it. good luck

5.0 and wifi networks "turned off"

Is anyone else having a problem with remembered wifi networks not automatically connecting when coming range, and showing "turned off" in wifi settings? Selecting them and then selecting connect makes the network connect but the next day, the same thing happens. It doesn't happen to all my saved networks. I've tried removing the saved network and re-creating it. Same issue.
I am having this exact same problem! Anyone know how to fix?
I reinstalled lollipop (trying to fix this problem and my screen rotation problem) and that was no help. I eventually went back to 4.4.4 because I couldn't rely on WiFi (and battery life sucked on lollipop).

How to prevent OnePlus 6T wifi adapter from automatically turning on

My Oneplus 6T is rooted. I tend to keep my wifi adapter turned off to save battery life. Few days after I purchased the phone, I noticed that when I turn off wifi, as soon as I lock the phone then unlock it, the wifi toggle will automatically turn back on.
After much research, I went to wifi settings and unchecked all of the following:
Turn on WiFi automatically
Smart wifi switcher
scanning always available
Open network notification
Wifi-Scanning (for apps)
And in the location settings, I changed (limited) location sharing with apps and stopped sharing with Google to avoid having the wifi adapter turning on. Yet the wifi still does, and very quickly after I turn it off.
BTW, My phone is running OxygenOS 9.0.1.
Any ideas please on how to solve this?
