I am lokking forward to solve the same problem. I have seen that deice with android 2.3.2 have the possibility to connect to internet through
the usb connection of the PC, so I was thinking to update my device (It has Android 2.2) to 2.3.2.
Do you think it is the only way to sove the problem? Thank you
Suggestions are welcome.
Your trying to connect your phone to the internet via the phones USB socket ? You could use a usb wifi adapter on the PC and set it up as a access point. I think Win7 has this built in or use ubuntu ?
Yes, I would like to connect my HTC Legend (android 2.2) to the internet via the usb socket without any wifi adapter. Phones with android 2.3.2 allow that (when you connect them to a PC you can choose that option), my doesn't.
I was wondering if there is any program allowing that or if I have to update my ROM to android 2.3.2.
Thank you for your suggestion. It can be useful anyway.
Sense 2.1 has internet passthrough via HTC Sync, but since I don't use the NewSense ROM, I personally use Connectify on my Windows 7 laptop.
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App

[Q] Android does not support internet ?! o.O

hello, i got new problem, is there any chanse to use my PCs internet (it's not wireless!) on my android hd2 via USB cable ....
Yes, you can do reverse tethering (although I have never tried).
Reverse tethering works best, apparently, on ubuntu linux: http://blog.mycila.com/2010/06/reverse-usb-tethering-with-android-22.html
hey, thx for this, but i dont understand this, what is USB Tethering, setting the 'bridge' up, how to do this, can i have some ... 'details' pls )) .
Which step are you stuck on, and are you on linux?
well.... im not on Linux, im on Windows 7, anyway, i found out what is USBTethering, but when i check that (i have drivers installed from SDK) nothing heppens, i dont know what to do, i dont know how to 'bridge'
step 2:
Connect USB cable and activate USB Tethering. You should see on linux or windows a new network interface. ---> where the hell is 'new network interface' -.-

Hi,
Does your phone connect to pc when you plug in usb cable?
Does your pc have latest version of WMDC?
This contains the drivers for successful connection.
If (And only if) you're using a Desire HD rom then just plug in your USB cable, choose "Internet Pass-through", let windows install the drivers (W7), enjoy internet on your device.
But if you're using another rom, follow the other advices from our fine members
Well.... my phone is connected with cable, im using windows7 ... all drivers are installed i got HTC dream composite ADB interface in control panel in 'android phone' device detected. im trying to USB thetering...but problem is that i still dont have internet acces from my pc, to my phone. i installed wired tether via my VPN ... but still i dont know what to do ... can someone pls explain ....
even i wanted to know how to do this
i am using windows 7
my hd2 android(rom: angel death v1.4) gets connected with pc but in network and sharing centre it shows "no access to internet".
i am having ethernet connection on pc.

macOS: Android File Tranfer not working

Hello guys,
I've a big problème with my new LG G2 international phone (french actually). I'm a new android user... I searched the forum before posting this and figured out that Android is not allowing USB Masse Storage Mode anymore... That we have to chose between MTP and PTP mode... Unfortunately, I'm a running Mac OS Mavericks that not support MTP mode natively.
I've installed the Android File Tranfer for Mac but it's not working. In MTP mode, the phone is detected by AFT but I'm getting the message "Could not find the selected storage." In MTP mode the phone is detected as a camera by the operating system but not by the AFT...
Do you know guys how can I fix this? It's really annoying... For the moment I'm using Airdroid to send file by WiFi but its realyl slow
My phone is rooted and developer mode is ON.
Cheers
I have this problem either.

I've found a solution since the usb drivers and PCsuite for MAC are available from LG. You have to download the USB drivers and PCsuite from LG web site, install them into you MAC and Android File Tranfer should work correctly It's works for me.
