Galaxy S5 Neo (SM-G903F) 5.1.1- How Do I Root? - Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo Questions & Answers

[SM-903F] [lollipop 5.1.1] root
Hi.
I'm a user of Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo (SM-G903F).
Please tell me, if it's possible to root this device ?
Thanks

I'm also looking for root, but it seems that it isn't possible at the moment.

+1

Same here, tried really ALL root methods I found all over the net. 45+ I guess. But at least some of them showed a request count, so it may be in work.

Same thing
Hey guys
I can only say the same thing, I've tried major part of rooting methods, apps n progs available without success. The "nearest" was Kingo root but have stopped at 77% progress. I'm thinking to try contacting chainfire and ask him to try "updating" cfroot to gain possibility to root galaxy s5 neo G903F lollipop 5.1.1. Have someone idea where is the correct place/post to contact him for this? I ask this because I red from him that he don't answer private messages.
Please give me some idea.
Best regards to all of you.

I wrote a request on chainfires superSu thread, hope it helps!

Hi!
I have also asked around for this and send a PM to PG101, for the S5 NEO – SM-G903FXXU1AOGG, on Android 5.1.1.
I have not tried anything yet, as I use this mainly for work and bricking it would be worst nightmare scenario.
But Samsung does not support sidesync yet, and I need root to add AC3 audio support to the device.
I hope this new model gets picked up fast!

Check out Auto root. Make sure your bootloader is unlock or you will have a bricked device in your hands.

Thanks, but according to Chainfire Autoroot website "CF-AUTO-ROOT IS CURRENTLY NOT OPERATIONAL FOR ... SAMSUNG ON ANDROID 5."

SRS root - no good
I read today that the new version of SRS Root could be used to root, but....
Bitdefender found several trojans during download! The previous version of SRS Root didn't have this problem.
Be aware.

The previous root for N9100 has not worked for me so far. I've tried several times, factory reset and re-imaged stock firmware, then tried again.... but always a write failure.
A new firmware for N9100 (N9100ZCU1ANJ3) has been released just yesterday. The previous N9100 firmware was N9100CHC1ANIG. Not sure if the new one gets a root if this will help.
Per normal, recovery image from the stock ROM is attached.
I bought this N9100 at an official Samsung shop in Shanghai. Not sure if they have done anything special to prevent rooting on this model.

What would be the likelyhood that a "better" root method becomes available?
Is it likely that a method of rooting US carriers Note 4s comes along that would not trip knox?
Is there any advantage to waiting for another root method to become available?
I plan on getting this phone and rooting ASAP but want to be sure that my impatience doesn't prevent me from losing out on something important in the future.
I'm getting the same error with harb2 on my N9100. Looking forward for a wokring root!

CF-Auto-Root-trlte-trltexx-smn910f not working for build KTU84P.N910FXXU1ANIE
Dear Chainfire,
I want to report a problem that the CF-Auto-Root-trlte-trltexx-smn910f root is not working for SM-N910F with build KTU84P.N910FXXU1ANIE.
It fails during the flash process with "SECURE CHECK FAIL : recovery" as seen on the device.
In Odin it says:
FAIL! (Auth)
Complete(Write) operation failed.
If you would need the firmware for testing please let me know.
Thanks in advance and keep up the excellent work!

I can't get it working on my SM-N910S

EDIT: I have the "N910SKSU1ANJ1" compilation.

Rooting Help

Im new to android and would like to root my Galaxy s5 running 4.4.4. I have tried the towelroot application and it says device not supported. I have tried the various modstrings and none of those work. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
You didnt specify your model, but it seems like you are on a verizon or at&t model based on your android version, theres model specific forums for those with plenty of guides, please let us know of your model, and i can give you the link if you cant find it.

Only method available at the moment is temp root via King Root. And it must be reactivated upon each device reboot.

How do you use that?
I tried King root and it said it cannot root the phone. I have Feb 21 build of the 5.1.1 rom.
I think, Galaxy J3 serie is not capable for root. No cfautoroot database is not available for this device. But root may be possible on Galaxy J5 and J7.

Hi i am a user of samsung J3- SMJ320F(Bangladesh). Few days ago i had tried to root my phone using odin. I eanbled TWRP. FLASHED SUPER SU. After flashing my phone gone into bootloop. And sadness is I couldn't find any Firmware on any website for free for my device. so, i had to repair my device in a random shop; And they flashed SAUDI ARABIA FIRMWARE On my phone. And it cost me almost 3$ ....so, If there's any solution please let me know because i cant use my phone without root. and these bloatwares are really irritating. so anyone?
Rooted SM-J327P J3(2016) Boost Mobile 6.0.1 Marshmallow
What it do folks. First of all, THANK YOU and I apologize. I dabble a bit more with my devices now and Ive had a lot more success then previous years and that would be due to the hard work you "techies" have dedicated and shared. So thank you for all the grueling and frustrating progress put in. I feel like I'm there with guys. As for my apology, I'm lost on singling out individuals that should recieve their just do. My bad. This is my first ever reply sort of like finally getting my feet on the steps in a refreshing icy summertime lake that holds now bounds. No brakes cause my foot is stuck on the gas.
I've rooted a few devices with KingRoot, KingoRoot PC edition was a success, and now the flag-ware Odin3(any version) takes the crown along with TWRP got my J327P 2016 from BST voided due to the cracks root has invaded with passion.
I thrive from any and all feedback and refuse to accept thats not possible or it cannot be done phrase; all I hear is "challenge accepted!" Please let me know if I'm not in the correct area for ranting but again thank you for all the knowledge and by all means charge on the great work!:good:

I found a YouTube video from someone from XDA developers with a rooted straighttalk s5 but it was not the SM-S903VL and I tried exactly what he said and downloaded the required files tried to flash through ODIN and still nothing. It fails everytime. I have rooted many galaxy phones but on the t mobile network and am wondering if there is some kind of code modification that needs to be done like that of t mobile's. Please need help!

Umm, I'm fairly new to this, have down this a few times but in order to downgrade, don't you have to be ROOTed? I will have to look into doing this I guess. My problem is I just bought the phone brand new and it is my only phone. I have had much luck with other Galaxy S5s and Notes on other networks and am pretty familiar with ODIN so this was the first thing I tried. Could you explain a bit more the root.bat method? If it has to do with ADB, that doesn't seem to give me authorization when I connect it and use the adb devices command. It gives the serial number and says unauthorized. I have USB debugging enabled in the phone but still no luck with that either.
The first post in that thread I linked has directions. Read it carefully a few times. I don't know if it will work or not. The first step is to flash the pb1 firmware in that first post with the Odin version in that same post. If that works the rest probably will to. Read the section called 'installing pb1'
