(Q - Short) Note 4 5.1.1 Root Failure - Bootloop (Can't flash / factory reset) - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
Phone Info:
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 - (updated to) version 5.1.1, Sprint carrier, SM-N910P.
What I did:
Tried to root my 5.1.1 device via (presumably, now) incompatible protocols:
galaxynote4root dot com/galaxy-note-4-root/how-to-root-galaxy-note-4/
Tl;dr I used Odin and CF Auto Root via USB cable (Computer & Download mode on Phone).
What happened:
Root seemed to work, but immediately upon reboot, my device went into a perpetual boot loop.
Currently:
I've tried flashing, downloading proper firmware; fails.
I can access download mode & recovery mode.
Recovery mode tells me my dm verity verification has failed, so any attempt to clear the cache and factory reset has failed.
I've heard the possibility of a custom ROM fixing this issue, but I don't know the half about where to even begin there, and I'm so beyond frustrated. Any ideas are more than appreciated.

[Q] i9505 Soft Brick Help - Stuck on Samsung logo (Rooted)

Okay first post on this website.
4.4.2, i9505
So, as i am a compete android n00b, i rooted my s4 with the KingoRoot tool as i thought it was an easy method, later i found out ChainFire made an easy auto root .
After i rooted with the kingo my device would randomly reboot, when i called someone, when i locked my phone and random stages throughout the day.
After some reading online i found the solution was to re-flash my phone to stock fireware. so i downloaded odin, drivers, fireware from sam and tried to re-flash it. however my phone failed after aboot.mbn. I then got the unexpected error saying the phone had to be plugged into kies etc.
I then used "philz_touch_6.07.9-i9300.tar.md5" to get rid of the error message which worked. however the phone still would radnomly restart.
Again i turnrf to the web to find a solution for the radnom booting and found this -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2514703
telling me to delete everythinhg knox basically. after deleting everything outlined my phone is now stuck on the samsung logo.
i cannot access recovery mode! however can access download mode. but i have tried multiple times to re-flash to stock firmware to no avail...
Help, please
Recap
- Stuck on samsung logo
- Cant access recovery mode
- Can access download mode
- Deleted everything knox as specified
Thanks, Dylan
1. The error that give u ODIN is coz you are trying to flash an older firmware that the one you have installed in your device.
2. You have to flash a STOCK recovery. Flash this file via ODIN in PDA/AP (like in the pic 1 attached): HERE.
3. Turn off your device manually when the process finish. Boot it into STOCK RECOVERY by pressing and holding Volume Up, Home and Power.
4. Take a look the CSC (pic 2). "Applied the CSC-code: ............" <- This is your REAL CSC. Turn off your device again manually and boot it into DOWNLOAD MODE by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power.
5. Go to Sammobile and download the LATEST firmware for your device with correct CSC and flash it via ODIN.
6. About KNOX and reboots: Delete all KNOX reminds less "Lib = libknox_encryption.so".
7. Good luck

URGENT HELP! Phone unflashable after wipe w/TWRP

Hi,
I really am in a hurry. Using this phone for work as well as personal.
My phone is SM-N910C. Had 5.1.1 COI4 installed, rooted with cf-auto-root through Odin and after checking everything was ok setting SeLinux to permissive with the app found in this forum. Installed latest TWRP and flashed this with it (zip on first post) http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/guide-how-to-make-viper4android-lollipop-t3075794
Phone got stuck on Android is starting... Starting apps. After 20 minutes or so, wiped everything on the phone through Advanced wipe on TWPR. Phone doesn't restart, stuck on initial Note4 white letters (no Samsung splash screen) and recovery doesn't work.
Download (volume down etc) works. Tried to flash the COI4 again through ODIN but it fails all the time. Phone says sw rev. check fail device 2 binary 1... and now everytime I connect the USB phone gets stuck at a grey battery charging icon, even when I unplug it.
What can I do?
THANKS!
Got it! It was because phone installed an OTA update thus blocking bootloader to lesser versions. Updated to COJ5 and everything is fine.

VZW S5 Hard Bricked, QHSUSB_BULK not recognized via USB

User claims to have not attempted to root, but cleared the cache via recovery mode previous to it bricking.
Device does not power on nor has any indication of start-up.
Android 5.0 installed, but not sure which of the VZW FWs it has installed.
No download mode (Pwr+Vol-Down+Home) nor Recovery mode
Again, the only indication is when I connect it to my PC via usb, a "QHSUSB_BULK" appears but cannot install.
Have tried this solution,
Flashing an Unbrick.img w/ Win32DiskImager:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-note-3/general/howto-recover-hard-brick-t2834419
*For Note 3, not S5, but didn't quite understand the instructions fully, but tried various settings accordingly.
-Should the SD be a specific format? (ExFat/Fat32)
-Upon running the unbrick creator in recovery on another VZW S5, errors reported were "footer is wrong" and "signature verification failed".
-Specific firmware compatibility?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
From what I understand, you must use a class 10 MicroSD card, and the unbrick image must be from the same model and firmware version as the one you're trying to restore.
Use this Unbrick creator script, if you can't find one for download
If you're not getting ANY display, though, it could be that the phone has truly died, or that the display has died. Keep this possibility in mind.
There is something missing. Wiping cache WILL NOT hardbrick ANY S5.
Alright here you go this is my unbrick image made from my G900V:

Help with rooting G906S Marshmallow 6.0.1 (tried CFire, TWRP and kingroot)

Hi, I've just recently switched over from iphone to android so I'm still new to the whole system. Anyway I've been trying to root my phone for the past 2 days to no avail so I'm at my wits end here. Before I start my phone is from korea which I don't know if whether or not impacts its ability to be rooted, I've done all the basics like enable USB debugging from dev mode, install samsung usb drivers, open ODIN in admin mode and allow MTP to computer. My Device details are below:
>Baseband version : G906SKSU1CPF1
>KERNEL : 3.10.40-8533426
>BUILD NUMBER : MMB29M.G906SKSU1CPF3
So anyway I first tried flashing using CF autoroot for sm-G906S with odin which while it said it was passed and was successful on pc it would be stuck on the samsung logo with a message at the top left that said :
>Recovery booting
>Recovery is not seandroid enforcing
>set warranty bit recovery
So then I tried flashing TWRP custom recovery and putting Super user zip in the internal storage which although got my phone back to working order still wouldnt let me root as the process required me to go to recovery mode from the fastboot mode after it was done flashing (I tried both with and without autoreboot), however once the flashing was done on fastboot I couldn't get to recovery mode no matter how long I held the Vol up/power/home button combination and when i tried it after rebooting it would show normal recovery mode hence there was no way to install the Super User. (Also attempted this with phils recovery)
I then tried to do the TWRP method using adb with command prompt however it would get stuck saying waiting for device when i tried to flash and needless to say kingroot also failed.
At this point as far I've gone through all the methods I could find for my particular device. Would greatly appreciate any insight or advice regarding this problem.
Thanks

[GUIDE] Root For Samsung Galaxy J5 Pro SM-J530F

Here's another rooting guide for SM-J530F/DS (Dual Sim) stock ROM. Even with Lineage OS my hardware model (ordered March 2018, EU SIM card only) tends to mute the main speaker after rooting. This rooting method works for me and is based on the work of others, especially ananjaser1211 and Abdullah_a86.
Make a backup of everything and make sure that the backup is usable. You are responsible if following this description and flashing bricks your phone. It did work for me which does not mean that it also works for you.
Enable Developer options. (Settings, About phone, Software information, tap a few times on Build number)
OEM unlock the phone. (Settings, Developer options, OEM UNLOCK: enable - otherwise you will bootloop)
Reboot into download mode.
Flash J530F_TWRP_3.2.1.0.tar (in AP) with Odin.
Now TWRP is installed and you should be able to use your phone as usual or to boot into TWRP recovery.
Rooting will erase everything, verify your backup again unless this is a new phone.
Reset the phone. (Open Settings, About Phone, (Looking for something else?) RESET, Factory data reset, Reset, DELETE ALL)
Reboot into recovery, a cleanup script will run and reboot after a few seconds.
Reboot into recovery again, install SuperSu and reboot (wipe nothing).
Starting takes a little time, after running the initial setup SuperSU is installed and the speaker works as expected.
I started here a few times after no-sound, no-root and/or bootloop experiences with LineageOS, CF-Autoroot and Magisk. If you upgrade to this firmware version you can no longer downgrade to a previous firmware version. Follow this only if you break something, want to un-root, update your firmware and/or start from scratch:
Force a reboot if necessary and then boot into download mode. All data on the phone will be lost.
Flash the J530FDBT2ARB3 firmware with Odin (AP*, BL*, CP* and CSC*. Do not use HOME_CSC*).
Now you have again a phone with stock firmware without root.

I think this might fix you booting into download mode problem try this post. Read "how to fix" near the bottom. Please Thank us if it does. This same thing happened to me and I wish I stumbled across this earlier because I figured this out on my own by just messing around going from recovery to download mode and it eventually fixed itself.
