Well I don't think the firmware we are all using that is pre-rooted will work on this because the processor is different. I have never seen this processor in a head unit. Its possible it maybe is an up and coming processor and we might see more of them, but right now you are kinda on your own.
Have you tried to enable root via the factory settings password?
Try to go to Settings->Factory Settings, and enter *#hct#root# as the password, it enables root on the device, temporarily. If you want it to persist, you then just need to install Superuser or SuperSU from the Play Store. This will work if it is based on the same software as the other popular android head units.

Thanks for your help! but when I go to the factory settings it only show me numbers for password no letters or symbols available. I have attach both processors datasheet. I do not see that much difference between them
but I am not an expert in this field maybe somebody can fill in.
Thanks again!

Xtrons D766A
Hello! I bought a radio tape recorder Xtrons D766A.
Can you tell me whether it is possible to update the MCU and Android on this device and what firmware can I install?
The video from the back camera does not work. If the recorder is only turned on, while Android has not yet started, to include the rear speed, then the picture is there, it shows even when Android has already booted. But if you turn on the back, when Android has already started - the picture is gray. There is no "No Signal" message, as if to disconnect the camera at all - just a gray screen.
I think the problem is in synchronizing the firmware MCU and Android.
I contacted the manufacturer, MCU and Android firmware were sent to me. I updated them, but as it turned out they are the same versions that I had.
Can I install something else on this hardware?

Help identifying and updating Marubox M706T3 (Android 7.1.1)

I bought a Marubox M706T3 from Ali. The specs say it comes with an Allwinner A23 quad core CPU. I want to upgrade Android to 7.1.2, but there doesn't seem to be a ROM for the A23 However, the information I get from CPU-Z is not conclusive:

^^ Here it identies as A23...
^^ but the model is T3...
^^ and so is the build.
Last but not least, the model number of the head unit is M706T3.
@****-jones mentioned a Russian forum (4pda.ru) in another thread, and after some digging around I found a post mentioning the A23 and T3 ( 4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=806442&st=7900#entry72921019 ), but the conclusion gets lost in translation.
What are your thoughts: should a T3-rom work?
Anyone?
It says:
Allwinner A23 - dual core processor, the Chinese guys probably made a mistake in the description.
T3 = CorteX A7
The marubox description is correct in the beginning, but then something apparently went wrong.
This is also in the OP:
Attention! Those who had Android 6 out of the box are strongly NOT recommended to move to android 7, after flashing MCU of android 7 there will be no way back, you will keep with MCU of 7 forever, if you go back to 6, you will not be able to flash MCU for the version from 6. On android 7, old mother boards can behave unpredictably, in most cases the internal microphone stops working and bluetooth volume will reset when rebooting.

As I understand, older model head units get upgraded CPU's sometimes. Some advertisements say "units purchased after date X come with CPU Y". Maybe this is the case here too, since I found this on the inside of the head unit...
Maybe they upgraded the CPU/RAM-module to run Android 7? Would it be able to run the ROM mentioned at 4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=837879 ?

Bluetooth Setting works for me - do you still need help?
Hello vimar002,
Ich habe exactly the same unit - Bluetooth works for me like with any other device. The unit is able to initate calls via my mobile phone and I can listen to music from the phone via the device.
Do you still need any help?
I have some questions around the DVD use and CAN Bus Settings with the device. Were you able to make CAN Bus settings? I am unable to find the right menu for that. There is just a view were it says: "CAN Bus --"
Second question: I can enter a DVD in the device, but then the device displays a very prudent message: Don't watch and drive! Fine for me, but when I switch off the engine the device turns off. So no viewing ofany DVD.... I think this might be related to the CAN Bus settings - the device might not know that the car is not moving and the parking brake on.
Kind regards,
mentos
