I just noticed this earlier today, and I am hoping for a solution as the fall sports season rapidly approaches. I am using a stock S8 purchased through T-Mobile.
I have tried opening a few different legal sports streaming apps, and they all crash upon opening. They go to a black screen, and I get the "____ app has stopped" error message. The biggest culprits are: Watch ESPN, NBC Sports Live Extra, and NBC Sports Gold. The NBC ones are my bigger worry because I am a big Premier League fan, and I want them working once the season starts.
I reached out to the NBC app developers, and all they're doing is trying to push subscription packages for NBC Gold.
Any help with any settings I should tweak? I would think it's on the app side, but 3 apps from 2 different developers makes me think it's my phone.
Do they crash on wifi and mobile data or just mobile? Maybe T-mobile is doing something weird mine works fine with those apps on ATT wifi and data.
I tried on both Wi-Fi and on mobile data, and I experienced the same issue.
Same thing is happening to me. I have a stock s8 through Sprint. I reinstalled a few times, cleared cache and restarted a few times. Hopefully I don't have to factory reset it. The NBCSports, ESPN and WatchESPN app crash yet the ESPN fantasy app works fine.
Hi everyone. I've used for a while MiFavor 5.0 on my U device. But I have some issues. Maybe you have same ones and you find a solution..
1. Root Explorer is not working.
2. Fun Run 2 is not working. (It works after installed but it is not working anymore if you close from recent apps.)
3. Sliding is not smooth on Google+ & Twitter.
I've upgraded my Chinese Axon 7 to MiFavor5.0(A2017V2.0.0B08) And it has some bugs and glitches associating with google apps especially google play games, it doesn't sync and it is stuck on this page(see screenshot) .It also doesn't sync to Chrome. Another issue is that if you go to settings/google/sign in and security it gives this error(second screenshot).Please help if you know how to fix these issues. This update has really messed up my Axon7.(I have reset factory both before and after the update)
I don't experience your issues.. the only thing that bugs me is when I'm using VPNs. previously on B01, when I close the vpn app on the tasks, it also closes the vpn connection. But on B08 when I close the app, the vpn connection still remains.
HelLo, I'm facing random apps closing themselves in Android 7. 1 based ROMs. I've tried AEX, Los, and both of the ROMs have this closing...apps which I've seen closing automatically :

SNAPCHAT
BBC
CNN
(they only close when I open stories back to back, or scroll fast.. Maybe it's something related to ram. Manamagemt, but I didn't have any such issues with 7.0 stock ROM).
I don't have substrautjm n also I havent rooted my. Phone..
I've also got the same problem. The twitter app always freezes after some images shown. Also Bundle app couldn't display news after some while. I'm using Aosp extended with opengapps stock.
Anyone have ideas what is causing the problems?
Even Im having multiple apps crashing after sometime. 321 player is not working ,downloaded the latest version. but crashes while opening the app.

got same problem with google maps any fix for this aex 4.5
Add amazon prime also too the list!
I have tried to load my NBA TV App and My Fox sports go App they load the title screen and then changes me back to my main home screen, I have uninstalled and reinstalled these apps and the problem remains.

I have the same issue with the BBC iPlayer app. It has arisen very recently. No idea how to fix this. I suspect an update might be needed (for the M3 not the app). This is the only android I've had where most apps are flagged up as not being optimised for this device.

it was weird, If go into the bootloader I cannot get past an old EMUI update. that tries to load and crashes. However my Pad was not loading 3 or 4 Apps and all of a sudden it straighten itself out and the problem stopped. I really feel there are no really good Android Pad and unfortunately I may be headed to an IPAD when this Bricks.
Had the same issue and saw a story on Android Authority about problems with Google Play services and Huawei. Followed instructions for a beta version of Google Play services, installed and this fixed my issues with apps not loading.

Ever since I bought this phone new in 2018 I've been extremely disappointed with it's performance. Lately I've been experiencing some extreme graphical glitching and lagging using the Amazon app. I just decided to freeze the amazon app. I recently did the thermal paste mod and noticed some slight Improvement. However after freezing Amazon I feel like I have a brand new phone. Has anyone else experienced problems with the Amazon app on the LG v20. I'm from the USA.
I'm attaching some screenshots. The App basically just flickers between various pictures. Or worse stays on the first picture. I edited\blurred my name and address.
I've used the Amazon shopping app in the US on my US996USC rooted with dirty santa and supersu since sometime in 2017 without issue. My wife has a VS995 (Verizon) rooted via dirty santa and magisk and has the Amazon app working without complaint (if an issue was there I'm sure I would hear all about it). What version of the V20 do you have?
Maybe some of the stock software on your version of V20 is conflicting with the Amazon app. Do you get the same slowdown / flicker if accessing Amazon via Chrome,Firefox, etc? Or maybe just force shutdown the Amazon app when not using it to obtian the performance benefits.
Also I deleted Facebook and a number of other stock applications I do not use (easy when rooted, somewhat harder without). Also I use greenify (works on unrooted phones) to cause most apps to sleep when I am not using them. Maybe one or the other might also help.
No problems on my side, either. OP, I noticed that you are using the Second Screen Status Bar mod and are hiding the regular status bar. Do you think the Amazon app may be clashing with that somehow?

Hi, exactly the same issue that me, at least i' m not the only one... I' experience the same in amazonapp, also with Nine email and a app from a bank here in Colombia, This start like 20 days ago, before the apps works like a charm... Now glitches a lot when scroll.
This in an H990ds, stock oreo and rooted, but also i've an spare v20 h918 (tmobile), alpha omega rom oreo, and don't have issues, change the graphics default in developer options and nothing help.. Also low the clock speef in kernel adiutor, change at a New perfine battery yesterday... nothing.
If anybody knows or adress This isuue, please let us know... Greetings from Medellín, Colombia.

Did you find out the cause for this? I have the same problem with the Amazon app but sometimes it happens elsewhere too. I don't have a v20 but running stock Oreo (8.0} on my axon 7.
The furthest I've gotten to fix it temporally is by choosing my address in Amazon and changing it back again. It seems like it's something to do with the address pop up message that causes the problem for me.

There is a bug in the latest version of chrome and web view that makes the screen flicker on some apps. To fix this you need to disable chrome and enable chrome and check do not auto update in the play store.
There is another fix you have to install the updated graphics driver. This driver is for oreo only lgv20, after you flash in twrp you must wipe dalvik cache. You must have root to be able to install the updated GPU drivers.
