Fastboot issues and corrupted download mode. - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently got my hands on a bricked LG G2 D800 because i thought i was deemed unbrickable. I got the device the backlight showed life and that was about it. i managed to somehow get (this method i think) it to boot to the LG logo and than it jumps to fastboot mode.
Yea me!!! I got fastboot and this phone is as good as fixed. NO! fastboot does not work. It will absolutely not execute a command besides "fastboot devices" to which it brings up a fastboot device. Since i got fastboot my plan is to follow this thread to recover the device. i updated all drivers that i need for this device, nothing. Plain and simple, there is an issue getting fastboot to execute command. the commands appear on the device but it doesn't advance further.
Download mode. Yeah i get the download mode that I get is a "security error" so its not the traditional download mode. if i get download mode i can flash a .tot right? Wrong. Fails due to "model information check". i got the phone to appear under COM41. The .tot file is 'LGD800AT-01-V20c-310-410-FEB-02-2014+0.tot'. Drivers does not seem to be the issue at hand, unless maybe its the ADB/fastboot drivers which i also updated to newest version.
The next thing im contemplating if this method is worth the shot. I have it booting to fastboot. I will probably do this since its probably the only thing left to try. Going to set up linux now so i'll report back.
Any help/insight will be appeared and properly thanked for.

I also got security errors on an 802. I was about to leave the phone in download mode and ran the LG Mobile Support Tool to perform an upgrade recovery to get a stock LP ROM onto the phone.

Link(s)?

I just downloaded the LG Mobile tool from LG Canada. Just search for the d802 and download the program. The program should detect your phone and download the correct firmware.
http://www.lg.com/ca_en/support/software-manuals
I actually have the d802 and it worked with the LG mobile program from the Canadian website.

nope windows 10

I restored my phone using Win7 and I think there are some LG programs that do not work properly with Win8/10. I think one tool is the flash tool.
Does anything appear in Win10's device manager when the phone is connected?

Bricked D800

Yesterday I purchased an ATT LG G2. Not content to leave anything alone, I rooted and installed recovery as soon as I got home. I used some unfamiliar techniques with this phone, but I assumed they were new.
Root - Towelroot
Recovery - AutoRec
I rebooted after installing towelroot and everything seemed fine. AutoRec seemed to install fine as well but later when I went to reboot problems arose.
I can't enter download mode. The phone is stuck in fastboot mode. In Windows it's recognized as an unknown Android device. Ubuntu/Knoppix do not recognize it at all. These two facts have prevent me from attempting many of the recovery methods available here on XDA.
I cannot enter recovery. Factory resetting does not work either, instead it dumps me right back into the fastboot mode.
Any advice? If I could at least get a machine to properly recognize the device I could attempt some of the recovery methods.
Some other interesting facts:
-Connected to Windows:
--Fastboot mode started
--udc_start()
--reset
--portcharge
--reset
--portcharge
-Connected to Linux (10.04 Ubuntu)
--Fastboot mode started
--udc_start()
--reset
--portcharge
--reset
--portcharge
--fastboot: processing commands
I have made several more attempts to install the drivers properly. None have been effective so far. My device is shown an "Android" with the yellow warning symbol when connected. I followed the supplementary instructions to choose the lgx64bus.inf. It provides many additional options however most of them do not work.
I had this problem;

Unfortunately my problem is a little different. I cannot access recovery mode.

You stated this" In Windows it's recognized as an unknown Android "
So your device is communicating, you just need a method of communication.
try the above

Thanks to the kindness of Bender_007, I now have download mode again.
I'm attempting to revert to stock using the TOT method and the LGFlashTool. I'm getting some errors from the flashing tool.

I've doubled checked that I'm using the right TOT and DLL with no luck. Any ideas?

It does sound like you have the wrong tot or/and dll file but could simply be a fubared usb port?
Are you plugged directly into your computer and not a hub>?

I'm using a new MBPr running W7 in a bootcamp partition. I've tried using both of the available USB ports. I've downloaded the TOT file twice and I've tried it from two different external sources (Thumdrive, USB3 External). No luck from either. There's no room left on the bootcamp partition so I have to use an external source.
I'm certain I have a D800, also confirmed by bender_007. I'm also certain I'm using the correct DLL and TOT. I've also tried twly.o different cables.
The only thing I can think of are that some of the drivers installed when I was working with bender_007 are interfering with the drivers. I need to be using. I'll try that now actually...

everything you need is here.
check again if you don't have USB connection of any kind. If you do have something in the PC responding to the G2 being connected, it isn't a hard brick and you can fix it with this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
Otherwise you just have to do this short the caps thing. Be careful and renember that this is always a better option than staying with a bricked device. You can also try to give the phone to some experienced repaired and tell him about the method and how will it cost.

But it says:

VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!!
You must use the img files that correspond to the ROM you have installed before getting the problem to avoid breaking your phone. The link above is for 10b_EUR_16G firmware version. So don't use those files if your firmware version was not that one. Instead you should look for img files corresponding to the current version installed in your phone. If you don't know what version you've installed then don't use this method because you will break your phone.

You have to know which model your phone is.
Do you know your phone's IMEI? http://www.lgkdz.com/ Go here and it will get the file you need to download via your IMEI (even though it is risky to put the IMEI in the internet).
Otherwise you can just search for your kdz file by knowing what model you have and what stock rom you had last time. You can always revert to that.
Mine is D802 32GB, has V30b-EUR software. That is enough for me to get the correct kdz file even by searching in the links provided in the tutorials I mentioned in my last message

Do you have access to download mode? Since your PC recognizes the phone as MTP Device, I'm not sure but I think that's only possible if you have /system/ working since the other partitions don't have MTP support originally.
If you have that, go there: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
Flash with the tot method and you should be good to go.
But wait for someone who can confirm what I'm saying since I'm no expert.

[HELP] LG G2 D802 stuck on Fastboot

Hi All
I have LG G2 D802T (written on back of Phone) 32GB version. I want to install Android 5.0.2 as i was not getting Lollipop update so i installed Lollipop from here.
http://www.naldotech.com/flash-android-5-0-lollipop-kdz-image-lg-g2-d802/
I have followed all the steps very carefully and installation was completed successfully. Now the problem is it is stuck on LG Bootlogo and when i try to go into download mode, it takes me to Fastboot mode.
Can someone guide me in detail on how to recover my phone, which rom to install and how with links to ROM and Software, Drivers.
Would be be greatly appreciated.
Anyone?
I will reply to in this forum in a couple hours. One question. Does the pc detect your phone in fastboot at all??
Keep trying to get the phone into download mode. It took me alot of tries but i eventually got it. Then see if you can connect it to the lg support tool and run the update and it should get you back to stock android. If not, see the lg g2 unbrickable thread. Let me know how you make out.

Download Mode Problem

Hello Everyone,
I have LG G2 but do not know which one model. Recently I have discovered that my phone hardware have been changed after opening the back case. My phone was working flawlessly but i found Lollipop update in PC LG PCsuit. I then update my cell phone but in lollipop my cell phone did not recognize SIM CARD.
I tried different KDZ to refresh my phone but then started facing touch problem. Phone Touch do not accept any thing(touch).
Again applied another KDZ but this time my phone is stuck in boot and when i try to enter to DOWNLOAD MODE it directly goes to fastboot: processing command. Even when i connect charger it directly prompt to fast: processing command
Main Problem:
My phone is stuck in boot and do not boot to Android OS.
Tried to go to DOWNLOAD MODE but it goes to FASTBOOT: PROCESSING COMMAND directly.
It is not recognized by ADB also.
I have tried LG G2 D803, D802 and D801 KDZs so far but nothing works. Anyone please suggest any KDZ of any version OS to deploy on G2 to work properly.
Your reply regarding will deeply be appreciated.
If you can't identify your hardware, try to use this site to do it by IMEI (you can see that on the phone box or removing the back cover, search YouTube if you don't know how to do it): devtester.ro/projects/lg-firmwares. Then use the same site to download the kdz for your phone model.

Try this one, it worked for me, seems dangerous, but it seems like you have corrupted qhsusb
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7zbs6of_4I
Whis will allow you to enter to download mode, then you can use the lg flash tool.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/tools-srk-tool-useful-toos-lg-root-twrp-t3079076
Try nuking download mode and then entering it. If it doesn't work, try the unbrick.
By the way, using capital letters doesn't hurt.
