Dem bezels! Especially if you get the white version, looking at the device when the screen is off is fun because it kind of looks like a device from the future with those narrow bezels!

Looks great, but a bit slippery. I have not put a case on because that defeats the purpose of the great design.

Great designs, but need to take extra care when handling

Sexier than me lol

Note5's design is absolutely awesome. Handling of the device is so easy and comfortable because of curves in back, it fits in hand. I really like the new design of Note series and I hope more improvement by Samsung in future. So I'm giving 5 stars to this thread.

The curve edge on the back makes it feel good in hand and also make it feel thinner than it actually is. Even though it has a curve back, it doesn't rattle like most real curve back when you set it down. It actually feels flat when I set it down on my desk.

:] same here

This phone is sleek, sexay and thin. Lets get that staight away. Every inch of this phone, the back, the front, rear and the sides. There are no UGLY angles on this phone. Yes we dont have external SD card and and yes we dont' have removable battery but the Looks makes my ex grilfrineds iphone 6s look like b squad girls at a gentlemans club.

The Gold Platinum, Sliver Titanium, and Black Onyx variants all look amazing. But White Pearl looks...odd. If I were to see that phone laying down on a desk with or without a cover, I would assume it to be any other Samsung device. Simply because the majority of Samsung devices are white, and that makes White Pearl seem like a generic, boring phone.

I have the Gold Platinum edition, I got it because of how close it looks to Chrome, and I love the color of Chrome. I feel it gives it a sleek futuristic look. The only drawback is that for safety sake I had to put a case on it so and that hides the sleek look and feel of the device

I love my note 5. Extremely sweet send fast

After 13 months of having this phone, I'm still staring at it and enjoying the lovely all metal, slim and sexay body.

It doesnt feel as good as the Honor 8 in my opinion. The Honor 8 felt much better quality, more substantial in the hand feel.
I liked the design change from S8 to Note 8. I don't mean the screen being more squared but I mean the metal frame wise.
Also have noticed some sort of stain up on the top of the phone where the earpiece and modules go. Not sure if it's the oleophobic layer. It doesn't look good on top of already having usb port charging issues.

I had 3 really small stains/specks in oleophobic layer on my phone. It was barely visible, but it really bothered me that my new super expensive phone isn't perfect. Took it to the Samsung service center and they replaced it the same day for new one.

Wow really ? Thank you for telling me. The nearest Samsung customer service center is not that close to me and I read that they don't replace smartphones bought online through Samsung...?
I am thinking of doing the same because of that ugly stain and the usb port charging issues. I'm using the original charger that came in the box and I plug it into the phone and it drops and picks up the charge and doesn't fast charge and it stays on regular charging. Which is getting inconvenient.
I have no idea about online purchases. I bought mine through reseller (alza.cz). But I went directly to Samsung service center. They gave me a paper for my reseller saying that they have to replace it. It went super smooth. I had new phone the same day I went to the service center.

Would love to finally have this.
Samsug
My last note was a 3 and loved the size and feel of that at the time. Despite the plastic build, it still felt very premium to me. Since then I've had Xperia's and Galaxy S devices, which I really enjoyed and told myself their smaller screens were actually more sensible, but now I have the Note8, I definitely prefer the larger display and everything about it just feels quality in the hand. I do use skins, cases and screen protectors for peace of mind, but find myself every now and then taking the phone out "naked" to enjoy it in it's full glory! Compared to the Galaxy devices, I prefer the squarer design also.
I don't mean to revive a stalled thread. But I've got both the note 8 which I just bought this week and an iPhone X I've been using since release. I enjoy both devices quite alot. Tho to me the iPhone feels more premium. It's got a better weight to it and the stainless steel is quite good looking. However the note 8 still feels quite good also. I wish it had more heft to it and used a better metal than just aluminum but aside from that it's very good. Especially the massive screen, which is quite stunning.
Sent from my Note 8
By far the Note8 is the finest device i ever had. Construction and materials are top notch and the screen is something outstanding. I already had a bunch of devices but never had a Note series. My last one was a Pixel XL that died in january 1st. I purchased a S8+ and stay with it for two weeks until i sold to my brother. Bought the Note8 and now i'm fully satisfied.
Device is great, S-pen is great, the feeling in my hand is great. In overall Samsung did a awesome job with Note8
The frame on the note 7 is far better, but everything else besides that is great.
And oh, try sniffing your spen when its freshly removed from the spenhole.
Slick as the glass it was made with. Slightly bland, slightly boring, but solid and heavy feel.
While I do miss the design of the Note 4, which I believe is the best designed Note that Samsung ever put out. The Note 8's construction is not that bad

Feels like a $1000 phone. Sturdy, tight, and sleek. Moto makes great use of rounded backs and corners to make their phones feel great in the hand.
Agree with everything but also want to add that I love how the phone feels cold when you pick it up
The shiney smooth back is actually grippier than I would have expected. Overall it feels very nice.
I have a few small (SMALL) quirks about the device that are a little bothering if I think about them, but it's mostly just me nit-picking. The model number is printed on a light color font on the bottom, between the headphone jack and USB-C. It's kinda weird to be seeing a font where there almost shouldn't be. The SIM card is on top of the phone, which is a little weird to me. The breaks in the phone where the antennas are (2 on bottom, 1 on top) are a little disjointing if you notice them. The volume-up-down are a little harder to click than I would like (but that's probably a good thing to avoid accidental clicks). And lastly, 2 of the 3 microphones (the ones on the front and back) seem to be more noticeable than I expected. It was actually one of the first things I noticed when I first took it out of the box, and turned it around to look at the smooth back.
As I said, these are nit-picks. Overall, it's a very well built phone, sturdy, and very pleasant to use. Would highly recommend.

Let me be the first (likely of many) to warn that Lenovo-rola is notorious for crap quality. The phone's have some awesome features, but quality bites, their support is so bad they got sued (Gerard Gibbs) over it. My g5 plus is the last Moto device I will ever buy.

Apparently you got a bad one or else the g5 plus is a way worse build than the x4. Best quality phone I've ever owned, feels premium, very solid quality!

Do you really prefer when it's printed on the back?
Love the phone. The contour glass is beautiful, and not as slippery as I thought when reading reviews. Have not had a problem since I bought it in October. The only thing is the amazon Alexa and the camera. I felt like the original moto x did a way better job with voice commands than Alexa. The camera is fine, just wish that they made the bump smaller. But the weight and feel of the phone itself is awesome compared to others with a higher price. Give it a 8 out of a 10
I had a G5 Plus, and for a plastic phone, the build quality was extremely good. It was up there with any plastic Samsung phone I've ever handled. The X4 is much higher quality, though. It really does feel like a phone that costs twice as much. I think it's a little slippery, though, so I keep it in a case.

Feels and looks great, just not as good as the bezel-less competitors.
Has anyone compared the silver model to the black? Given that the phone isn't all metal, I'm wondering if silver would look more "cheap" than the black one.
I own a black one and it looks so great and professional. Saw couples of silver unit in Youtube and I think it looks cheap. Another thing is the big black navigation button bar on the bottom blends well on black unit, whereas other colors tend to reduce the overall aesthetic of the UI in my opinion.
Still got my Xperia Acro S, and with the Anysoftkeyboard with the ICS addon, it looks like my Acro S, but a bit faster. XZ1 Compact is more slippery than the Acro S, but I love my new Xperia!

i got the silver/white xz1c and it doesn't look cheap to my eye. it doesn't look quite as classy as the silver xz though.
I ended up getting the black one. It arrived today. I love the look and feel! The back doesn't look cheap to me at all. Very happy with the purchase so far.
I agree! Used mine for ~ a week now, and I love it. My Samsung S5 looks so Samsung, and the XZ1C looks so much better! Got the black.
I got the silver one, and yeah, I wish the paint looked better, but I still like it. The "silver" gives the phone an industrial look to it, which I like.
I wish they used a silver that was like the paint on the Galaxy S7.
The big front camera circle bothered me initially, but after a while I started liking it. Gives the phone some personality. Makes it more unique.
I was considering getting it in black to "hide" the front camera, but now I like seeing it.
I think people are being sheep when they complain about bezels. If the phone looks good, it looks good, bezels or no.
The bezels look good in this case because they are the same size top and bottom (omni-balance), and they appear to have a purpose, house the speakers and camera and sensors. Comparatively, the first pixel phone looked awkward with its bezels.
I got black one. Looks amazing, First look is better than when i got black Z3C. Love the phone design, slightly changed from other Xperias <3
My only issue is that the top and bottom of the phone are not symmetrical. That kind of annoys my OCDness.
Love the design, but personally I like the Xperia X Compact in the Mist Blue and White colours a lot more. Also, the Z5 Compact in yellow was pretty awesome where the front of the phone was all black making the yellow less distracting when looking at it but still overall a stand out colour.
I have black version and it LOOKS superb. Really beautiful and "professional". What i don't like however is the metal top and bottom. It is not symetrical, and the plaquetes are more into the display side. I am supposing that they should prevent display, when you put the phone display down (why would you do that tho). I am also not fan of the sharp edges. Really the corners should be at least a bit rounded, I am afraid the phone will damage my jeans lol
I feel this phone is the best design Sony has put out, beating the newer devices imo, since I prefer the side-mounted fingerprint sensor power button and headphone port. The matte metal all around feels great and doesn't require a case or stickers to make it less slippery finally too. Performance is amazing and so far my battery life is even better than all my previous Xperia Compacts

I wanted go get the one plus 6 but I could never get over the notch. No matter how good the phone in term of specs I would be still holding a wanna be iPhone x. I went with the s9 plus. At least its original and unique design.
Dude, SGS9+ have a 158mm notch on both sides of the screen... so...
I just love the design and the big screen which is kinda nice although its a 1080p panel but the colors are sharp and accurate. I got the mirror black version which has the awesome premium glossy n shiny back to it, I just love it. And as far as the notch is concerned by many people, you can literally just disable the notch show in the software and it just looks like a regular notch less phone.
Psst.. its waaayy better than a Samsung considering the prize range.
What notch? When disabled it's invisible... Love my 8gb / 256 GB phone ???
Very good looking phone
oneplus6 is ugly piece of junk which developed by designers with broken hand and complete absence of taste
but it has hardware and software and hardware specs that you can get only in more uglier sams s9+
I'm highly upset that even for high $ I cannot get the phone that has everything !!
MidnightBlack OnePlus 6 looks really dope!
I have both Samsung S9+ and OP6. Aesthetically, S9+ looks more prime than OP6. The finish of S9+ is impeccable. I have USA unlocked S9+ and it still comes with lot of crap ware. OP6 has much lesser bloatware and since it's to root, you could simply uninstall any app you don't use. I also feel Screen is brighter and sharper than OP6. I also like S9+ camera. Only reason I use OP6 as my daily driver because of speed and performance. OP6 user experience (at least mine) is much better than S9+. However, S9+ does have better aesthetics in my opinion.
This iteration has quality control issues. My SIM drawer surround catches my finger slightly and the nylon filler inserts in the frame are more obvious compared to the OP5.
I have never liked the 'horizon line' that Carl Pei celebrated at release; I firmly believe 'form follows function' and can find no reason for it to barrel as it does. Sadly, Apple has the phone form right - IMHO; all that is needed is a rectangular block with rounded off corners and mildly rounded arrises. Anything else is simply styling to delineate from the competition (and prevent patent wars).
I'm finding, with the screen to the very edge, that sometimes the way I hold the phone interferes with my attempts to scroll. The fleshy part of my hand, being the rump of my thumb, falls over the screen and acts as a touch. This means there are limits to bezel size and/or edge touch-screen sensitivity. I really do find a chin - something I can hold with my thumb and forefinger in a cantilever grip far preferable.
In the days of yore phones came with a small anchor-point in the body so a cord or leash to wrap around the wrist could be attached. In the UK, and probably elsewhere, phone snatching is a problem. A leash could help prevent a phone snatch,
To those notch haters; get real; it is possible in software to remove it. But it is an interim step on the design process; it will be gone in an iteration or two, I have no doubt.

I might have to agree about quality control. I've found that the tiny gap bw the glass back and aluminium sides is (very) slightly larger on one side.
Receive mine today.
Really donĀ“t like the Notch, and that big thing with 2 cameras on back isn`t very aesthetic...
My note 3 from Xiaomi is much more sexy, blue, and also my Find 7 witch carbon back.
Apart that, nothing to complain about it.

Yes, mine too. I forgot to mention that. I use a felt-lined leather slip-case and often see small straggling thread caught between the frame and the glass back at the lower right corner (when viewed from the back).

not so much annoyed by the notch...but hate the fact that now network speeds won't appear on the notification bar..a bit annoyed to pull down notification shade everytime..
but screen quality and performance is leaps and bounds ahead when compared to my old RN3..

Totally agree with you about the network speed thing but that happens cause of the notch I am sure, overall Mirror Black looks amazing:good:
I got a silk white variant a couple of days ago and it looks wow.. I don't know why are few complaining for the design and colors. It looks very premium.
And regarding notch, there is always an option to hide it.
As someone who always runs black themes and wallpapers on amoled devices, the notch is mostly invisible.
And I don't get the people being so salty about the notch despite the fact that it's the shortest one among all notched phones ( and narrowest if you exclude water-drop notches and the one of the Essential PH-1 ) so it doesn't really interfere with the status bar. And when you go fullscreen with apps, the notch height gets blacked out and you still have 6 inches of the screen to view content on.
And even when you put a proper wallpaper on it, especially on AOSP roms, it looks unique in a good way( at least to me ). The notch on my last phone ( Xiaomi Mi 8 SE ) was hideous and it bothered me a little, but I actually like this one. It's what every notch should be like; a fair compromise to get a higher screen-to-body ratio.
If you don't like it, you're free to buy a Samsung or SONY phone ( SPOILER: you will have to get a second-hand one, encounter a great deal at your carrier...unless you're in Croatia where those are non-existent or cough up a lot more than you would for the OP6 ) and slap an AOSP GSI on either.
My only gripe, it's too thin. A slightly thicker phone would feel more secure in the hand and accommodate a larger battery.

No case here. Love the nebula blue color it would be a shame to put one on it. It is a bit slippery, but when you keep that in the back of your mind it is ok to handle with one hand even
Such a beautiful phone. Makes any phone with a notch look silly.
Have unfortunately dropped mine a couple times already though and some of the blue finish on the corners has given way to bare metal
best looking and feeling phone I have held to date. Bar none.
I took it out of the case, dropt it on the carpet 30 seconds later ).
I'm going to keep it in the case until i get used to its size.
I hate keeping my phones in cases tough.
I want other emojis
I don't have any major complaints with the look of the device. I would personally prefer the rear cameras be completely flush with the backing but that isn't a deal-breaker. A slightly thicker profile might actually give them a little more room to do that, increase the battery size, and make the device slightly easier to grip on the sides without a case. I would really like an emerald or jade green color option.

Yes, it actually wraps around the side of the phone and adds more grip to the sides, but the sides of the phone are thin. so there still isn't much surface area to grab. so you still need to be careful. I find that where I would have grabbed the phone by it sides, I'm handling it more with the front and back of the phone.

Really a nice device. Especially in blue! However, I find that the edges are slightly too rounded.
One has to absolutely LOVE the full view screen. An actually full-screen phone, at last. I've heard people complain that the back cover is glass and that it could have been plastic. Well, then they'd complain that it's mere plastic and doesn't feel premium. I Love the looks.
