Fixing IMEI After Downgrading to 4.3 from 4.4.2
I need to know how to install my original or a working IMEI onto my AT&T Note 3 SM-N900A any info is helpful thanks hopefully someone knows the answer and can reply fast.

I've always found the easiest way to backup/restore EFS is via TWRP. Just select backup then just tick EFS. That particular backup will then contain only your EFS partition which you can restore at any point, even if your phone doesn't boot. As long as you can get into your recovery you're good to go.

i have a galaxy note 3 (sm-n900). Suddenly, Last week it just lost the coverage of the network and it is not able to connect to any network (mobile network, wifi, Bluetooth) anymore.
I searched over the Internet and found that such problem is related to EFS files.
My dedevice is not rooted so i have not flashed any rom.
How can i fix it???

hi ive corrupted my efs and didnt back it up befroe root.
however unusual to see my sm-n900 picks up its original imei for some time and then it shows null0null or imei with 0049 .
efs wont repair after restore to stock firmware . could you developers please build me an efs if I gave you my IMEI????

finally falsh via odin pass, but reboot as the freeze remains on the samsung logo.

im new here and my english is no the best, but i try to explain my problem.
i tried to flash the cyanogenmod 12 on my n-9005 and first i thought it works fine. but then i saw there was no emei and baseband anymore. so flashed 4.4.2 again and tried some things and, i dont know exactly why, everything was fine. so i made a efs backup with the terminal emulator (dd /.......) and got a file named efs.img (14mb). then i tried to flash cyanogenmod 12 one more time and again there was imei 0/0 and no baseband. so i made the recovery with the efs.img , but it didnt work. again i flashed it back to 4.4.2, but still the same problem. now its the third day without sleeping and i dont know what to do. can someone help me?

Hello everyone. I hope you could help me with flashing Lollipop on my Galaxy Note 3. I haven't received it OTA so I am planning to download the official rom and flash it using Odin. I have used Odin in the past to flash roms and from my own experience I know that every time I flashed - the phone also got factory reset and I lost all the data and the apps already installed. I would like to flash without factory resetting my phone. also, I don't want to root my phone. Please help. Thank you.

Odin WILL overwrite the phone. Without Root you can't do a nandroid (full phone backup) and about your only option is to get something like ES File Explorer and try to copy out all your media files, docs etc.
All the best ways to save stuff require root access.
You could also try SMS Backup & Restore and Call Logs Backup & Restore to save those out to your extSD. Also you can export your Contacts to extSD and import them back once the flashing is done.

There are things you can do if you search for IMEI lost or similar words. But simplest is probably to DL the Stock version for your phone & use Odin to flash it. That will lose all your data and apps etc on the intSD so you might want to look for other ways first.
I'm guess here but I think maybe you have a problem trying to downgrade your modem/bootloader. CM12 is (if I remember right) v5.0.x of Android, and since Kitkat there have been issues going BACK to previous versions. I think maybe you upgraded your BL to the LP version then it failed when you tried to go back to KK version.
You do not say which 4.4.2 you flashed but you could look for a v5 of that ROM and try that first.

As I know, EFS Back up contains IMEI, so sharing the imei will be logically? Not sure.. Actually would like to help but I didnt get the nature of problem.

Any tips ?

The phone brickou after flashing the wrong ROM on the device and that at vistou corrupted something in EFS folder. If you can give me back up excluding up to the IMEI folder I would accept without problems ... just want at least revive the unit . If you know any other solution that not need to use IMEI backup 'm very grateful. I found this here on link of gsm24h but the file is password and can not draw .

You tried wipe options already or? Dunno man your variant is Spirint, may have locked bootloader and etc. You need to look for the correct solutions in Spirint forum.

Have you tried flashing stock with Odin?

Have you still got a radio signal (Make calls / text etc) ?
If not, you might have lost your EFS partition, which afaik, needs a professional repair to fix unless you backed up that partition first

i have the signal bars working but no imei. no backup.
there is no other way to restore it somehow?

Before you try anything, I strongly advise you to backup your EFS partition or you could end up with no signal at all
IMEI and Radios are both contained in the EFS partition, lose that, your screwed

i have signal but when i try to make a call it says "not registered in the network"
and i have backup my efs partition to my sdcard as you said.
what now?

Might be too late if the EFS partition is corrupted and you don't have an IMEI and can't make calls
There are a couple of threads kicking about on XDA S5 forums where people have managed to recover their phones with similar problems, have a read through the Q&A forum and see if you can find them, some fixed by flashing stock, not sure how that worked, but apparently it did
Read others saying they backed up a working S5 EFS and restored it to the broken one
Have a read and see what you can find

so you saying the only thing i can do is to flash a new imei with octoplus or some other kind of boxes.
and if i recover imei from other phone it will not cause network problem becuase there is two phones with the same imei ??

The law in most countries states that the only IMEI number you can use in your phone is the one it came with.....
Nobody here on XDA is going to give you advice on how to change your IMEI for that reason......it's against the law..... *and* as such, it's against XDA rules as well......

EFS Backup request, discussion about this

Hello people ,
I destroyed my EFS without a backup , i went with the phone in service but nothing...the guys from service try to write a couple of cert files but nothing, i hues the haven't a valid octopus box ,certs or baseband...
So I decided to try a EFS from a different phone ...
Can someone upload a efs files from 910F , baked with TWRP ?
I can destroy something by writing a EFS from a differet phone?
Can I edit my actually efs to put back the imei ?
(WARNING , STUPID QUESTIONS AHEAD)
If I'm dreaming please correct me...

Sorry to hear about that but first of all you did not mention about your model or current rom you are running so someone can help you sadly efs backup from different phone will not do the job.tell me your model number and I'll give you link for repair firmware with cert files.

EFS missing files / IMEI and Baseband unknown

Hello guys, I need a lot of help was messing on the Internet from my Galaxy S5 G900M when he crashed and got warm,
I removed the battery called him but was no carrier signal after prsquisar discovered that my EFS is missing files:
.nv_core. bin
.nv_core.md5
.nv_data.bin
.nv_data.md5
.nv_state
I have little money when then pay for repairs to the box is in final plan at the time,
I researched many posts with repair attempts here Forums new and others over the Internet to 3 full days without success, what do you think is like me rebuild these 5 files on my device?
vi whose other older models (Galaxy S4) with a program, only it does not support my model!
Obs:
My S5 was before the problem with the Rom xXx No Limits 5.7 + Boeffla kernel + Root
I've tried to go back to several versions of the stock roms and did not work!

i dont want to bother or anythin, but for u to recover the efs file is more or less impossible.... the only way would be if u would have made a efs partition backup trough twrp, since i bet u didnt made one, ur phone is now more or less just a tablet with no usable phone stuff

I have SM-G900F and in efs partition I don't have this files above too, but i have IMEI in phone and it works good. I think the Galaxy S5 have a special version of efs partition. I can send you my dump of efs part. (efs.bin file, maked by dd in adb in console on PC ) if you want. You can send me your dump of efs to compare this. It is surprise for me why I dont have the folder "sec_efs" like you.
