[RESOLUTION CHANGE on 5.1.1] My recent success on EOS - G3 General

So.. I decided it was time to try changing my resolution.
I know what I did on my LG G Flex (4.4.2)
But I heard some people had luck on 5.1.1
Bad idea right? Right.
So, nomone changer didn't work. Didn't really expect it to either.
Resolution changer (can find here on xda), didn't work. But some people say it does.. Oh well.
Was getting discouraged, but was determined.
Found another app (on play)
• UI Tuner (ROOT) by Bassel Bakr
IT WORKED!!! But it didn't!!
It works but it throws you into a reboot cycle... Dammit!
How do I fix this...
Restore from backup? Wipe/Reflash ROM?
Nope.
My G3 will do a complete boot, but after about 10seconds... REBOOT
Just enough time to see if uninstalling will restore back to original settings.
NOPE!!
Whatever resolution you change to PERSISTS even after a reboot, WITHOUT the app installed... And no auto reboot!!
So, I'm now on this ROM (EOS Revival) with 1080x1920 resolution on 5.1.1.
Awesome, but DPI is way out of whack at 560...
I go to display and change down to 400.. Reboot
No love.
In comes another app.
• Neo Density DPI Changer by polarbear software
It's the only one I found to work with 5.1.1 (because ro.sf.LCD_density build prop mod didn't/doesn't work)
So now I've been able to change to [email protected]
Just an FYI if anyone is interested.

Terminal emulator works fine to. Type
"su" then "wm size 1080x1920"
And density is "wm density xxx"
Obviously swap xxx for the density you want

[APP] MIUI Compatible System Font Changer

Hi everyone,
I have seen a few people in search of a way to change the system font in MIUI to a preferred font of their choice. While browsing the Android Apps & Games section, I came across a thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=874658) created by user martino2k6, who is also the developer of an app called 'Font Changer Lite' (paid version also available).
This app basically does what it says on the tin. After installing, it allows you to select from a range of compatible font formats which you place in the .fontchanger directory located in the root of your SD card. The only drawback is that it requires you to have the NAND unlocked (S-OFF), as it requires r/w access to the /system/fonts partition (full root) while the phone is powered on, just like MetaMorph does.
I think its a great app, and one that is definately worth purchasing.
Note: This app will also work with non-MIUI ROMs.

You dont really need an app for this. just follow these simple instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9782857&postcount=3805
If you're s-offed and have root explorer then you can use the above method. If youre s-on and/or don't have root explorer then you can push the files by adb instead

[bootanimation]tweaked ics

Stock is too bright and shows too much color banding
Adjusted the gamma on the images. Made darker and colors little more vibrant
Install:
Flash threw CWR
Alternate install methods [root required]
Use the bootanimation.zip below
Place in data/local folder then reboot
no need to set permissions leave as is
this will bypass default animation and when you want to revert back simply delete from local folder and will default back to stock
one thank to me for resize
a lot of thanks to demo23019 for this great work(for the nexus s device)

thanks and thanks again.
I felt the same way. Thank you very much, its perfect.
Yes its good and its work thanks
For those of you on MIUI like me, I'll provide the steps to install it.
1. Download the boot-file.zip containing the "bootanimation" file.
2. Extract the file and place it in system/bin, replacing the old boot animation file (make sure there is no extension at the end, just bootanimation)
3. Give it the permissions using Root Explorer or equivalent: rwx-rx-rx (rwxrxrx)
4. Download ics_tweaked.mtz and place it in sdcard/MIUI/themes
5. Reboot, and them go Settings>Themes>Customize>Boot Animation> The new animation should be there.
6. Select it, Reboot, and Enjoy!
NOTE. If it isn't there, look at all the boot animations that are there, if there is one with no preview, select that one. That should be one containing the new animation.
*DISCLAIMER* This method worked for me and results may vary.
Works flawlessly, thanks.
Great boot animation and very easy to install.

Will this work on the Rezound I would really like this one looks nice.
When start booting animation little bit laging, but later everything ok. Best boot animation for me.
Thanks for this great animation, works like a charm

Dim capacitive buttons, No more?

So this is suppose to fix the dim capacitive buttons, even if you go to settings and put max brightness to the capacitive buttons it's still quite dim, the files are NOT provided by me and it's just for testing, original thread of this is here:
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...ding-issues-fix-it.108694/page-6#post-7005014
A user in my thread provided the info, don't know if valid..use them at your own risk(and report if you see anything). I've dl the files and checked the batch files, all I see is an automated way of rooting the phone ..didn't test it, so I don't know if OP provided "custom" files to enhance the brightness of the capacitive buttons(I wanted to share it and see any results if someone tries it ):

yeah this completely wiped my phone and I was without a OS on my phone, I could still boot into TWRP and Fastboot, however I cant use a toolbox to flash stock. Im guessing it locked my bootloader. Anyways after about 3 hours or so I was able to flash stock rooted through sideloading since i could still get into TWRP. Pheww thought I was done for.
Maybe it should be removed if it is that dangerous.
Transmitted via Bacon
I read on the original thread, someone took a look at the files and it seemed to be just a method of rooting, however I don't know what happened on my end. Anyways, they go on to say that they couldn't find anything would change the capacitative brightness levels. They also said beware it might wipe the phone clean haha. I didn't read it until I ran into troubles.
I might've gotten a bad download or w.e but the file size is like 800mb and came from a "drive" rather than a download site which seems suspicious. 800mb to change key brightness seems excessive
All I can do is lol, good times, good times.
I personally wouldn't trust an 800mb download to JUST fix the capacitative buttons brightness lol.

[FIX][CM12] LMK Fixer and ADJ

I make my own script for LMK (low memory killer) and adj.
Init.d doesn't work on CM12 so the unique way to make it automatically at boot is with an paid app.
"Boot Shell + Pro Version" (no spoiler)
1. Download Boot Shell and buy Pro version (you also can "buy" it on Aptoide , but highly recommended support the developer is the correct way)
2. Open it , in lateral menu and select "New script" and put it a name. (Ex: LMK)
3. Copy and paste it:
Code:
chmod 644 /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/adj
echo '0,58,117,176,529,1000' > /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/adj
chmod 644 /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree
echo '12288,15360,18432,21504,24576,30720' > /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree
4. In app settings select "Execute script at boot"
5. Restart and enjoy best RAM management

Does Music apps run better on background? My only problem with CM12 was that Google Music closed A LOT while on background.
Yes is for that , better ram management
Hi,
I don't want to sound rude but am I supposed to get partial credits for this?
I forgot it , sorry @BlueFlame4
How many apps can you run in the background now? Do you also have Facebook app inbetween them? Wasn't there an app called Kernel Audiator which does the same thing?
XT1033 CM12 Nightly. Upon screen off this script undoes itself... No clue why
Odd, it works on the weekly build and on the Asia retail soak...
good job
This script does the work. Thank you man @Lans98. I really needed multitasking which is absent in current cm.
Well I have a query
can i just place the script in init.d folder to make it work?
Working 100% for me now. Cm12 nightlies. Xt1033. Thanks
Why is showing an error when I select "execute and show output"? Then I suppose it does not execute fine at boot :S

Everything smaller after uninstalling xposed framework

Hi, I ran into a strange problem while doing some modifications to my phone earlier today. While trying to address another minor problem that my phone was having, I decided to try to reinstall my xposed framework to see if I could fix the problem. However, after flashing the uninstall zip file using TWRP, when my phone booted back up, everything on my screen had become... smaller. Not just my icons, but the size of the the notification bar and things like the size of my system's text. I immediately went into and searched through all of the settings that I could find, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary (e.g. it said my font was already at 100% and condensed mode was off, and no luck either in my nova launcher settings). I re-flashed the xposed framework to see if it would fix the problem, but it remained even after reinstalling. It's honestly a minor issue, but I'm tearing my hair out because of it x(. I'm hoping that there's a solution that's right in front of me but I just can't seem to find ;A;
I'm using a Galaxy S7 Edge (international ver, so G935F) on Android 6.0.1 and the xposed framework that I'm running is v85.1 sdk23 arm64 by wanam.
Here's a comparison of how my screen looked before and after all this happened:

I think the problem is your DPI.
Navigate to settings>display>display scaling.
If your selected option is condensed, set it back to standard and reboot your phone.
I don't know how flashing the xposed framework changed it, but that's beyond me.
Good luck.

Thanks! It was not set to condensed, but after switching it to condensed and then back again it seems to have fixed the problem

Must have been displayed incorrectly. Glad you fixed your problem, though!
Good luck on your android endeavours!
