Launcher + Samsung Features - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Went yesterday to a Samsung store and tested the Edge+. Never thought that I could handle a phone with such a big screen. But the formfactor of the chassis and the one-hand-mode convinced me.
I'm still scared of touchwiz. If I use a launcher like GEL, will features like double (camera) and triple presd (one-hand-mode) still work. Which disadvantages do I have with a alternative launcher?

It works at the OS level so changing launcher won't affect anything.

new apk tsf ui

has anyone scene this app.... i would love to see this on my sgs i9000 soon its really cool and hope the devs are on to this already.... visit the tsf ui website or view the videos on youtube about it
Just saw it today on utube. It's awesome. It amazes me just to see what's possible and what devs can do. It looks butter smooth and is so practical. Will buy it when it comes out.

"new apk" in the title is SLIGHTLY misleading, especially for people who've been waiting for this for months...

[Q] How to hide android navbar?

I just bought a Nexus 7. It's gonna arrive In a week
But I already know, from a limited experience I had with android 4.0+ 7" tablets that I will hate the navbar when I want fullscreen. I just want to be able to easily (and if possible, for free) to hide the navbar when in games and browsing.
I'm planing to root, but will not be messing with any custom ROMs. Is there a way to somehow make the navbar hidden?
This is what I found on the play store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=be.ppareit.hidebar
Any good?

I use the paid version of full!screen.

Best launcher for Nexus 5/KitKat 4.4

Google seems to have actually managed to gain a competitive advantage with the new stock launcher: the integration of Google Now including the corresponding voice command "OK Google".
Do you think or are you able to tell if this is something, that developers of other launchers will also be able to do?
Furthermore, so far there isn't a launcher out yet with transparent navbar, or am I wrong? Which launcher would you recommend for the nexus 5 in regards to this? I have always used Apex on my GNex and my Nexus 4 and was very happy. But the transparent nav- and statusbars are just too darn sexy.
Put short, if you are looking for an exact copy of the Google Experience Launcher, you're outta luck. It's impossible for a third party launcher to integrate the Google Now 'left swipe' screen or the voice activated "OK, Google" as both features have closed APIs. The good news is, at least the Nova Launcher dev has said that he's planning to implement the same feature but in a different way. For example, placing an entire Google Now widget on the left screen. It won't be exactly how Google has it, but it will be close enough
As for the transparent UI status bar, I believe all third party launchers will support this feature.

thanks..that was kind of what i thought. I don't really need the swipe or voice activation (allthough they're nice to have)...transparent nav- and statusbars are way more important
any word on when which dev is gonna come up with an update including the new features for kitkat? since i've been using apex for the last 2 years or so i'm not really aware of the differences to the other launchers..

Not sure about Apex, but Nova should be sooner than later. The dev has already implemented the feature, it's just a matter of when he decides to release it.
Action Launcher is what I'm currently using. Very responsive dev, I;m currently running the beta and he's added transparency, white folders and white accents to match the kitkat theme.

Action Launcher Beta has transparency. I don't like the launcher itself though, and it does cost $3.99. Nova creater says he is working on it, but didn't give an ETA for the actual release or beta. You can sign up for either beta through Google+.

Stock launcher too basic and plain for my taste waiting for either nova to update as im using their current version.. or for carbom/liquidsmooth/pa rom where u can change the nav bar buttons as well as color. Same with status bar

the only thing i dont like about stock is that you can't set your home panel.
it's annoying having to put all my icons to the right

100% agree with this "it's annoying having to put all my icons to the right"
I like my screens where they were and now centering is left WTF?
I like the stock launcher. But it isn't possible to hide App icons in the Drawer vor can I do this? I didn't find an Option for this
Gesendet von meinem Nexus 5 mit Tapatalk
I will go with stock until nova reveives an update.
I've always used Nova, but I could start using stock launcher (I like the swipe to Google Now) if only there was a way to apply a theme icons as we can do with third party launchers

Same here. I hate not having this function.
Stock Launcher great, but ...
I can agree it would be great if the stock laucher had two small addons, than it would be the best launcher for me:
1. Custom Number of Rows and Columns for Home and App Drawer
2. A chance to organize the App Drawer using either "Folders" or "Tabs"
Is it not possible for some devs to achieve this with the experience launcher an make my dream come true to have
a more experience launcher.
Best Regards ... I would also pay for such a launcher ...
I agree. I love the stock launcher but hate the icons, if they update to allow icon packs that would be great and to have more control over the app drawer.

Nova Prime vs. Apex Pro

Which is better for Note 3? What do you suggest?
I prefer to use Nova Launcher.
Inviato dal mio SM-N9005 utilizzando Tapatalk
I have both and have stayed with Nova ever since I tried it. They are both similar, but Nova offers better performance and I like the way it implements certain things, I guess it suits my way of thinking better. The latest implementation of "OK Google" is brilliant too.
As for which fits the note 3 better... I'd say both fit ir perfectly, but that performance benefit from Nova makes it an easy choice for me.

thank you guys.
i prefer to use nova prime also.

I am on Apex Pro, but I guess is more of a matter of personal taste with some random element.
If I remember correctly for me the extra boost was that on neither one I could use the Samsung Weather+Clock widget, but on Apex I had Fancy Widgets from the same developer and I liked that one.
They're pretty much identical.
I much prefer Apex.
Back around the initial release Nova had some issues with the Note 3, but that is no longer the case. It's just a matter of personal preference now.
Out of curiosity, as I haven't used apex for a long while... Does it support the ok Google question from the desktop as nova recently had?

I honestly don't know. That's the first thing I disabled when I got the phone... But I don't think it does.
I've just decided to try Nova again. But no, I prefer Apex. For one, if has a great many more Font options. (I like a light condensed one, Nova only has big fat and massive But that's the designer in me nitpicking.)
(So yes, I actually have both I also own Next, but mainly for showing off (to iSheep))

if you are talking about INVERTED/NEGATIVE COLORS like on iPhone, you can achieve this as follows on GS8;
SETTINGS>>ACCESSIBILITY>>VISION>>NEGATIVE COLORS
I guess there's no need to bash ANDROID for something you are unaware of how to achieve.

I guess you should inform yourself before bashing me, in case you don't know what is smart invert, I would suggest you to google "smart invert IOS11" IT'S NOT NEGATIVE COLORS, and I know how to access it already on the S8 anyway. HUH

As post above. Substratum now works on s8 with no root optimized for samsung experience. Try it guys it works well.

Right but not for system ui or system apps unless you ARE rooted.
There are themes in development for Substratum Samsung that should be able to theme both system and third party apps, it will just take time as Subs for stock touchwiz is still very new.
