Trouble by Flashing OTA Update - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Friends,
I've rooted my OP2and installed "TWP by ydss.cn v2.8.7.0"
But by trying to install the OTA-update ("OnePlus2Oxygen_14_OTA_002-005_patch_1508192013.zip") from OnePlus via TWRP; every time I get the following error:
mount: failed to mount /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system at /system: Device or resource buy
Verifying current system... "/system/bin/install-recovery.sh" has unexpected contents.
E: Error executing update binary in zip "<update zip name>"
Can anyone help me? How can I install this update
Thank you, Sincerely
Confringo

You can't flash the ota if you're rooted. Read the 2.0.1 or 2.0.2 thread. There are instructions

CWM recovery and OTA updates

I posted this in the Q &A forums, but no answers were gained. Maybe there's more visibility here.
Will the N10 by able to get and install OTA updates from Google if we're running the stock ROM/firmware with a custom recovery (CWM) ?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
OTA updates require the stock recovery. However, it's usually only hours after an OTA is out that a dev will repackage the OTA to use with CWM.
Also you could probably get someone to post the actual update URL, and then maybe temp boot stock recovery and then sideload

Huh?
Actually, you could install OTA updates using CWM or TWRP... but the OTA update may overwrite the recovery after a reboot...
And With bootloader unlocked, can i update by ota? Keep root updating by ota?
Now i have root and stock recovery
I flashed via cwm just fine. Root was maintained.

[Q]Paranoid Android not flashing

Hey guys, so there are two unofficial Paranoid Android ports for the VZW G2...i'm referring about this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2498084 I just can't get it installed on my device. First it didn't work with TWRP so I tried CWM but I received a assert failed error so I tried to delete the assert but when I flashed that it didn't work either will a just installation aborted message. Any help on getting this to my vs980 would be great. CWM v. 6.0.4.4 TWRP v. 2.6.3.2
Thanks
On the last page there is a download link from iOSh8er that fix's the problem.
What was the other paranoid android port?

Root with Stock Recovery : Incredible but True

Hi friends , I have a rooted MT7-L09 with custom recovery . Today I flashed the stock recovery for installed the official update (127 version by OTA) . When the installation is over I turned on the phone and despite the recovery stock I still root permissions . Indeed now I have stock recovery (useful for official updates) and Root (useful for the modding) . This is strange but is also wonderful :fingers-crossed::good::victory::laugh:
I also updated my MT7 TL10 international 3/32 gb version today with root and stock recovery. I am still rooted. Fantastic.

It is because TL10 has lesser problems. Updates are to solve those problems. That's why L09 has more updates... ? ?

Thanks mirchichamu!
I rooted my L09, reflashed stock recovery and i was still rooted. I flashed B127 upgrade via update app (and stock recovery) and i was still rooted. After some day i made a factory reset.... and i'm still rooted. I didn't fix root as asked by cwm (i think it would have installed su in system).

Hey guys,
I rooted my device after unlocking BL and installing CWM. How do I get stock recovery back so I can install OTA updates? (Read: what do I have to flash, and does it work the same way i.e. same commands as when flashing CWM?)
Thanks!

Nevermind, just found the thread where it's explained.
Can somebody please post the update.zip file for OTA update from 120SP4 to 127?
I could not get the OTA update here.
---------- Post added at 10:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:20 AM ----------
Well, I'm assuming that you root the 120SP4, then OTA to 127, then OTA to 137, and the root will be preserved.....Is that right?
So I used this method to root my l09 120SP4: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2995086
and I still have stock recovery and locked BL
and my OTA updater keeps telling me that I have the lastest version and won't update to 127.

Make sure you do a full format / wipe before flashing the ROM

Are you sure it's 'hanging on starting apps'? First boot of an L ROM can take upwards to an hour at times.

An hour? No chance, if it hasn't booted in 15-20 at the very most, even with 300+ apps, it's bootlooped

Hour is unusual, yes, but I wouldn't rule it out, I've had mine take 45ish once.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
I don't see what it could possibly be doing for 45 mins that it couldn't do in 15-20, and if it did take 45 mins+ to boot, I would imagine the OS would be so unusable and corrupted, you'd have to wipe it again anyway
EDIT - Unless massive amounts of media played a role, trying to cache / library everything

If you don't even get a 'starting apps' screen after about 10 minutes it's probably not going to work, are you sure this is an actual g900f? The only thing I can think is that you have a clone using non-standard partitions so the ROM scripts are only half working.
