[Q] Lg Leon Stock Recovery! - LG Leon Questions & Answers

Hi all i have a rooted 5.0.1 Lg 340n that i tried installing twrp from the app! the c50 one! so i tried going in the recovery mode and i got a message Secure boot error i cant do factory reset or enter stock recovery and i dont have backup of my recovery ! i wanna update my phone but it keeps says that message ! any help what i can do so i can simply update my phone ?

I kinda had the same issue, so unless you have a computer and the lg driver lg flashtool and stock firmware file you're basically bricked. Your best bet is to find a corporate store and get a replacement under warranty, just don't tell them you rooted. If your phone is less than 30 days old they replace it for free, if not you can pay 15 dollars to have a new one shipped to the store in about 3 business days. I feel your pain, i hope this helps.

my rooted att g2 bricked due to the att update a few days ago. i couldnt get it to work as im android noobish. someone linked me to a an easy way to flash kitkat back onto the phone and i did so just nowand so far( 20 min with the phone ) everything seems to working normally. i had already called att about the phone and they are sending me out a refurbished device. There wont be an issue if i send back their refurbed phone and just say mine started working or just refuse it right? what would you do, keep the newly flashed kk phone or take the refurb?

Correct. You can send the same phone back to them. I'd keep the one that is in the best condition.

Need help restoring / un-bricking Verizon G2

The perfect storm...
I broke my phone about a month ago, bought a hold over on craigslist until I fixed my phone. Left the phone stock and yesterday sold it to a truck driver via craigslsit. I did a factory reset handed over all good to go. He is now out of town
This morning he calls me and says the phone is locked in TWRP and is politely upset. Confirmed the phone worked when I gave it to him. I did not install or root this phone so the crap ass before me must have and did it and not mention it. The guy has no clue what happened, went to bed fine, woke up and stuck looping in recovery.
I tried to walk him through it. Reboot, says it lands right back at TWRP. He seems up to the idea of using a tool or utility to flash it.
I found this thread [Guide] Unroot/Unbrick - flash official factory firmware with LG Mobile Support Tool but it does not seem to cover the Verizon variant.
Can anyone point me to some instructions I can send this guy on getting this thing back to stock?

[Q] Bricked verizon lg g2 by install software update, don't know what to do

Hi guys, I got my LG G2 a few months ago and it was my first android phone. Since I always jailbroke my apple devices I decided to root my lg g2. Everything worked fine until last week when I was prompted to install a software update. I thought this might mess up the phone since it was rooted so I postponed it until later in the day to give me time to research, but I forgot to postpone the update again and it went through at the scheduled time. Now when I turn my phone on, the lg logo is displayed, and then I get a boot certification verify error. I don't really know what that means but I can't do anything, no recovery, no download mode. I started to follow this tutorial but am stuck at what files to download. I do not know if I have the 10b, 11a, or 12b variant, and I can't find a way to check it without turning the phone on, which I can't do. I'm really lost at what to do at this point, I can't follow the only guide that might fix my phone. Is there another way to solve this issue or find which variant I have? Would verizon accept it back to fix or replace it since it's been rooted? I've read some people saying they unrooted their phone and then returned it to the carrier, is it possible to do that in my situation? I really need some help guys.
TBH: I would call Verizon, and tell them the phone was bricked by the update- hope they don't notice it was rooted when they warranty it. Problem is, if they do you get charged full amount for phone. I'd consider if you have insurance to just claim it on insurance.
try download lg support tool from lg website http://www.lg.com/uk/support/software-manuals
plug the device and wait for the software to recognize ur version.
I downloaded and installed it, but it won't recognize by phone. I have installed the drivers for it
ok.
try to follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2681089
and the files download from here:http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/VS980/Stock_Firmware/10B_Partitions
lets try this virsion and see what happend..
download the 10B zip file and the dll file too http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/VS980/Stock_Firmware
now it doesn't boot at all, not even to the lg logo. Additionally the partitions don't show up in ubuntu any more. I guess i'm completely screwed now?

note 4 (N910A) verity error after stock ota update from 5.1.1 to 6.0.1

Hey guys,
I could use your expertise and help.
After updating my stock Note 4 Att variant from 5.1.1. to 6.0.1, I came back to my phone powered off. After turning it back on it freezes at the Att logo screen. Trying to boot into safe mode was a no go so I tried booting into recovery. Everything looked go for a second, I was greeted with an installing updates animation but that quickly was shut down and I got the "dm-verity verification failed..." error.
I tried wiping the cache and doing a factory reset. Talking with att technical support was no help at all. They basically told me if wiping the cache and factory reset didn't work I would have to get the phone replaced and pay a $150 deductible. I'm not paying them another dime when their update bricked my phone
So I'm here heart in hand hoping you guys could help me out. I did root my note 2 back in the day but forgot most of what it entails and was pretty bummed when I found out there was no root for the note 4. So I'm not a total noob but bear with me.
I did try Kies 3 but my phone wont connect. I tried off, on and in recovery still nothing.
Searching online it seems like most of the solutions require root access which this phone doesn't have. It also looks like it needs the stock firmware but most of the links I found here and elsewhere are dead, and sammobile doesn't have them either.
So what should I do? Am I out of options? Should I junk it cause Att sucks? Any sort of direction would be a big help! :highfive:

Make sure samsung kies or samsung usb drivers are installed on your pc.
Download stock marshmallow firmware and flash through odin .this method does not require root.
After flashing dont let the phone boot just go to recovery and wipe cache+wipe data factory reset then reboot.
Wait 10 to 15 minutes.
Stock rom link.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24651430732238073
Extract file and choose AP tab in odin.
Upload firmware file then connct device via usb cable to pc.
Hit start in odin.
You're the man! Not only did you save my phone, you stuck it to Att's money grubbing hands in one fell swoop. People will write songs about you, you'll go down in the history books as the man, the myth, the legend! People will swoon in your presence!
In all seriousness though you're awesome! Thank you!
One last question, will I be able to use the ota updates from here? Not that I would be too comfortable using them after this debacle, just wondering if they should work.

Thanks for the compliment. you just made me feel like i am a Hercules :victory:
If you want my advice dont ever take ota updates.
Just go to www.sammobiles.com/firmwares and grab latest rom for your model and flash in odin as you did.
Latest rom comes with the same security patch update the 1 comes in ota.
I personally do this way all the time.
Hope that helps and have a good day.

My nexus 6p is in hard brick

hello to all, my Nexus 6p, after an official update, restarted and stopped on the Google logo. i tried to flesh a firmware stock via fastboot but it does not work. the phone is original with bootloader locked, i can handle it in fastboot mode. is there a way to flesh the stock firmware? In the Nexus with locked bootloader
Thanks
ADB sideload the OTA
I cant enter in recovery only fastboot mode
BLOD?? If you can enter fastboot but not recovery and it never boots passed the google screen you might be boned.
bootloop. logo loop...
I have the same problem does not pass the logo and restart, but I can enter the recovery and fastboot.
all this with the oem blocked.
I clarify that I did not find the system of the dryer nor freezing the telephone.
exp.:crying:
I do not know how you define it ... but my nexus 6p, never unlocked, always kept original, after an ota update, has remained fixed on the google logo, with the key combination i go only in fastboot mode .. ...strange? but it is so...
how do you call it? hard brick? soft brick?
for me it's hard brick since i can not flesh the firmware ...
Fun with Warranties

I was a die hard and avid 6P fan. It was literally the best phone I have ever used...when it worked.
When I was still under Huawei's 1 year manufacturer warranty I ended up sending it in twice. Each time they sent me a new handset as they couldn't fix it.
Once I was off of Huawei's warranty I had to deal with my Square Trade insurance. They couldn't fix it either and opted to send me a check. I only bought the phone once but ended up owning three different handsets over the course of less than a year and a half.
Your best bet, in my experience, is if you're still under warranty send it in and get a new one. Huawei's US based customer service was nothing but excellent every time I interacted with them.
Good Luck,
Ben
thanks for your message, my nexus is still under warranty, sent to huawei italia, the phone I picked up after a month, they could not fix it because it is not an Italian guarantee but a European guarantee, they told me to contact the shop where I bought it, but the store is closed for bankruptcy ...
my only way to resuscitate the phone, I think I'm getting a tools that installs the firmware, having the bootloader locked ...

That sound sketchy!
Don't accept such an answer that your phone is still under guaranty but not in Italy!
Huawei are an international company.
Use this link with your IEMI to verify your device is under warranty and if it is simply contact Huawei UK for instance.
http://consumer.huawei.com/us/support/warranty-query/
Checked with them last week and they agreed to fix my device free of charge.
