google playstore - YotaPhone

Just got my yotaphone 2. Quick question. On the playstore... I see the apps that I have already bought ... still showing the price. So I can't install some of the apps that I already bought.
Is it suppose to be like that?
Edit: never mind. it went back to normal after awhile. it seems that i have a lot of updates going on. and all went back to as it should be.

Crazy things are happenin' man!!!

Ok so last night I go to bed like normal, did nothing different with my phone. And when I woke up a couple of protected apps that werent showing up in the market had downloaded and installed by themselves. I KID YOU NOT! I thought it was weird that I had 2 app install things in my notification bar and turns out it was 2 apps that I havent been able to download for weeks. I am running MoDaCos newest rom and kernel and have been since he came out with it but since then I have done no tinkering with my phone. Just thought I would share this with the community and see if it happend to anyone else.
This happens to me too. It happens when you change roms or go back to one you were using before and had apps that were installed when using that rom and not the one you were just on.
Thing is the apps hadnt shown up since I tried a 2.1 way back and hadnt shown up in ANY of my roms since. Be it Fresh or MoDaCo. Also I have not flashed the 1.6 rom.
Happened to me when I flashed MCR 2.2 after AOSP 1.6. Who ya gonna call? MYTH-BUSTERS! Oh, wait, that's not right....
This happened to me too. It kept downloading Astro File Manager for some reason.
This is a very peculiar thing.... It only happens if I switch from a rom with the new market back to the 1.5 market.

what apps were they?
It was Brightkite and Barcode Scanner
I am wondering if this is not a product of what everone else has been thinking the problems with the market has been when switching from 2.1, 1.6 and so on. that it is something on googles end and it just takes time to fix itself

New feature in Android Market ?

just went into market and was greeted with a new feature ... a scrolling feature window at the top linking to sports etc ... anyone else seen this, it wasn't there on mine this morning ...
Also seems to exist in each section as you browse.
I don't.
Orange - UK
Appeared in my market, although only in the cats and not the main page.
Yeh cool i got it too Orange UK.
Mine has been like that ever since the new market came out in 1.6
same here its old...
No update for me on voda uk. Still the old look. I believe americans got it with 1.6 update but for some reason it didn't get filtered down to other countries.
I got the new look.
Looks cool!
Just checked mine and I got it
o2 - UK
Just got it today, too.
On Globe Telecom in the Philippines. I don't use 3G at all, though. Just wifi so I guess it's not a carrier thing
Yeah i saw this on older screenshots as well and thought google had removed it but it's now in my marketplace as well
I wasn't sure if it was new I was fairly certain it was but not 100% ...
got it too.
Vodafone CZ
Finally got mine updated. Vodafone UK
Seems like there isn't much use to those tiles, mostly acts like advetisement.
Nothing here.. T-Mobile UK
TBH I'm glad they aren't there.. it just wastes screen space.
arrived on mine. , downloaded an update for an app and it seemed to take longer than usual. was no change to the market before i downloaded (I think) and no change immediately afterwards, but when I had a quick browse later in the day, there it was. I have had no OTA updates (not since I rooted when I had 1.1) and have been running the latest Cyanaogen since it came out, so not sure when/how this change was done.

Unfortunately it doesn't directly bring you to the advertised app.
At least it didn't the first and only time I tried.

[Q] Noobish inquiry.. having issues with the April Update

hello ladies and gents, new to the site. Thought i might be able to get some answers for a few issues i've been having since the update. I don't know about you guys, but i'm having problems opening my apps after the update. They will try to open and just close immediately afterwards. Also for some odd reason every once in a while the logo for the app will be a white cirlce with a black backround. Very strange and frustrating since now none of my apps open. I will do a soft reset, and they will work for a second, and go back to not working a few minutes later. The system also seems to be running a little slower than usual, and the live tiles for "now" and sometimes a few others will just be a plain blue. any help would be highly appreciated, thanks for all the info you guys give on this forum.
don't all reply at once now lol.. i did a second update last night, odd cuz it says march 2011 update whatever that means.. and i'm still having the same issues.. slow performance, apps not working, and i never even installed a sd card on my phone cuz so many people were having issues. Do i need need to reinstall all my apps? cuz i'm having trouble with the marketplace too.. it's crazy slow, no icons are showing up next to the apps, and there is no download option, wth is going on? any help would be much appreciated, thanks
Sounds like a dud. Take the phone back as fast as you can and get a full refund or exhange for brand new unit.

SOLVED: Newly purchased Iconia - won't update

I just purchased this Iconia on clearance. I brought it home, went through set up everything went fine and I love it.
Then the update thing popped up, I was like "cool" and said OK download. I waited and nothing seemed to happen.
I clicked on the third button over on the bottom (not sure what it's called) and checked what it was doing. It was not downloading. So either I get a bar with downloading and 0% out of 100% or it just dissapears when I say OK download.
It's not a deal breaker. Just annoying. Thanks.
Android version 3.1
Kernel 2.3.36.3
Build number Acer_A500_4.010.13_COM_GEN2
This may sound silly, but have you tried a full shut down, bringing it back up and trying again?
If it refuses to update then you could always root the thing, install clockworkmod and manually install an update from SDHC. That atleast works.
please check the fallowing .
Since you say that you bought the tablet on clearance..
Was it new in box and plastic wrap..
was this tablet a return. IF This is the case .. browse the app folder .. LOOK for programs like Acer Recovery Installer... Bustbox .IconiaRoot. .
these things will give you indication that the tab is rooted...
download root checker app from the market can also check for this..
if its not been rooted .. try going into settings /privacy and reset the device.. post back if you figure any of the above out. The more information you provide the easier it will be to help you get to 3.2.1 latest android system
Good Luck
It was a floor demo model, reset to "new" settings. I don't believe it was rooted since it didn't leave the store. I did powered it down and back up again. I wanted to post this before I reset the device, you said in settings/privacy? I don't mind resetting to like it was right out of the box. Thanks again for the help.
Floor Demo models are very iffy. The brutality they endure in the hands of people walking by, it's troublesome...
I did a reset, still no update love.
I called tech support for Acer and talked to two different levels of support. Basically talked me through stuff I had already tried. Force stopping and clearing cache of updater. Rebooting, turning on Bluetooth (?) Still no luck.
He wants me to let it sit and see for a few hours and gave me a number to use when I call back to set up sending it in to be fixed. He has no idea, never had this happen before.
Oh well so much for wanting an easy android tablet, without the bugginess of my rooted nookcolor. Thanks.
So the good news and the bad. Good news the tablet wasn't the problem, my internet connection was. I guess satellite internet and Acer's update servers don't get along.
I brought it back to Staples and spoke to a easy tech guy and explained what it was doing, he hooked it to their wifi and poof it started downloading. Boy did I feel stupid. So let the big patch download there and went to the free MC Donald's wifi for the following two smaller ones.
So all is good in the tablet world again, even received the case and screen protectors I ordered.
Thank you.

Google Now crashing

Not sure when this started. I unlocked and rooted before I had even started up, and since then just used the Trinity kernel and toolbox, but apart from that completely stock. It was working, but now it force closes when bring up the results. For example if I ask for the weather it will be half way through the reply then back to the home screen. Happens both on typing and voice search.
Only two threads I can find are below, none of them have a fix
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1784694
http://www.xoomforums.com/forum/motorola-xoom-general-discussion/18016-google-now-crashing.html
I have deleted the cache and disabled/enabled google search. Any ideas?

I'm having this problem as well with my Nexus 7. I'm not sure what's wrong with it. it's just so frustrating. I tried to download the offline language pack but still didnt work. Like u said no other post online available for this solution yet. Wondering if many people get this.
However one thing did happen, my nexus 7 ran out of batt and turned off by itself. I then plugged it into a power source and turned it on. I run an app and suddenly some blur screen like the TV tuned out came on and all i can hear is some buzzing sound. then i plugged off the power and i charged it again and everything was alright apart from the Google Now thing!!!!!
when the batt ran out, all the memories seems to be wiped out... such as time and date.. seems strange when they built such high tech stuff and they do not have memories to keep track of time and date?!
i really hope this gets resolved soon
