Quick connect option for internet connection - Windows 10, 8, 7, XP etc.

In windows 8.1, we can click Ethernet internet connection connect button from side bar itself. But, at windows 10, when click internet connection icon, it goes to settings where we need to click the button. Is there anyway to quickly connect internet like windows 8.1. Thank you[emoji4]

Internet Connection

When I had Windows XP and ActiveSync my phone could connect to the internet when it was connected to my pc with USB.
Now I have Vista and my phone can not connect to the internet.
The ActiveSync had an option, "This PC is connected to the internet" I can not find that in Vista's Mobile Center.
Do you have any solution???
Windows Mobile Device Centre aka Windows Vista's Active Sync
a little search arnd the forum could have saved you some time. anyways here's what you do.
Since you are using Vista, you cant use or install Active Sync in Windows Vista. They replaced Active Sync with Windows Mobile Device Centre [WMDC].
When you connect your device to your computer, WMDC should be able to recognize it. Then go to Mobile Device Settings and choose Connection Settings.
In the Connection Settings, the third option is This Computer is connected to:
choose Automatic
Your PDA/Device should now be able to browse the internet or Logon to Live Messenger etc.
If this doesnt solve your problem, please i recommend you to search the forum with the terms being Windows Mobile Device Centre

have your shared your internet connection, through the properties of your LAN connection.
once you do that, you may have to reinstall WMDC once again for it to pickup the internet share option.

How to connect Laptop to internet?

I have a Dopod D810/HTC3600i and a Laptop running Vista Ultimate.
My phone has a GPRS and a HSPA connection. I am trying to connect the Laptop to the phone via bluetooth to connect it to the internet.
I'm hoping someone can point me to a setup guide. I am having trouble with comports and vista configuration mainly.
Simple.
1. Go to Internet Sharing on your Trinity, select Bluetooth PAN and your connection settings.
2. Single Left Click on the "Wireless" icon next to the clock on your taskbar. Click "Connect to a Network"
3. Click "Set up a connection or network" near the bottom of the new screem.
4. Scroll down to the last selection called "Connect to a Bluetooth personal area network (PAN)" and click Next.
5. You may have to click "Add" here to add your Trinity if you haven't paired them already. Pair them.
6. Click "Connect"
Give it about 5-10 seconds and you're golden.
I don't have DSL with me usually, so I use my cracked-screen Trinity with AT&T's 3G plan. Works GREAT. Downside: battery life can SUCK if you aren't charging, so keep a USB cable handy.
you can also use the usb cord to use the internet.
make sure you have active sync installed for the generic rndis driver.
plugin your trinity and find internet connection sharing on the phone. once you enable this, it should auto connect and allow you to browse the web.
a added bonus to the usb cable method is that it keeps the phone powered up and charged.

LAN over USB not working

Hi,
I have a HTC S710 (Vox) and a laptop with Ubuntu running on it.
When i connect the smartphone to my laptop with USB, it shows up as a Generic RNDIS device and connects.
If i run zaTelnet pro on the phone and SSH to the ip of my laptop (on the USB network device), i'm able to connect.
But when i put the same ip address in the address bar of Internet Explorer on my phone, it says i can't connect because my 'internet connection is not configured', i guess it wants to connect through wifi or something.
Btw: I have apache running on the laptop, so i want to get the webpage from my laptop on my phone through usb connection.
Thanks,
Rubberducky
Bump?
I've also restarted the apache server after i connected the phone, no difference.
settings->connections->connections->advanced->select network
choose my hone network or something like that not being your isp
in the dropdown box's
Sorry to sound stupid, but i can't find connections->connections.
I've gone through all available items in the connections menu, but there's nothing with an 'advanced' option?
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
well i don't own a vox
but all devices with wm i've used
i open the start menu
i click settings
i click the conections tab
i click connections icon
i click advanced tab
i click select networks button
and i get a window with the 2 dropdown buttons
Are you sure you're not talking about a pocket pc?
It's been a bit since I had my smartphone out (blackjack), but I think there are options for the connection in pocket ie. Check the menu and see.
I've unchecked the autodetect setting setting, changed the connection to Internet, Work, WAP, Secured WAP, none work...
Any other possibilities?

auto disconnect GPRS data when wifi is conencted

I was wondering if someone was able to have GPRS data auto disconnect when you connect to a wifi network (without having to long press the end button and then manually disconnect GPRS data).
I searched the forums but i could not find a solution that does exactly that.
Any help would be appreciated.
Think this is a Windows problem because Iphone automatically searches for fastest connection and connects to wifi if available and you have access - great when you get home it just connects to the router. Don't think this happens in Windows mobile devices?
Any suggestions

The way it works on the iPhone is exactly the way it works on my HD2 - out of the box, no tweaks.

Windows Mobile Device Center & WiFi

Hello,
when I connect my HTC Snap to my PC (Vista, WMDC) I can't select the WiFi in the comm manager. When I browse, I don't see a 3G logo like I'm browsing at my 'prepaid'. Is my phone standard connected to the internet when it is connected to a pc?
Thanks, Daan

I think so. Check your WLAN status and see if you're indeed connected.
If I plug in to my PC with WiFi off, the WiFi option is grayed-out when I open Comm Mgr, but if I look at WLAN settings, Status, it says I am connected to the wifi network. So I think the 3G uses the USB to connect through the PC.
I don't know this for sure, however.
simple fix
in the device center, go to settings, and make sure you enable data connection while connected to pc.
