Flash Apps on Android Development Contest - Over $30K in prizes

Hey guys,
Apologies if this isn't an appropriate place to post this. I'm hoping some of you will find this an interesting opportunity. FlashGameLicense (FGL) is running a contest in partnership with Adobe to promote flash game developers to port/adapt their titles to play on Android. I thought I might try to see if Android developers would be interested in exploring the development opportunities available with flash.
Cell Your Flash Game Contest
[Sorry I can't post a direct link yet. If you search for the phrase above you will find it quickly. I do apologize again if this is considered spam.]
This contest is actually focused on flash games that run well within the browser but I think an effective marketing strategy would be building your game in Flash using AIR to create an Android App for sale. Then create a lite version of the same game for in-browser play that up sells to your App and of course is entered in our contest.
I'd love to hear any questions or comments about this strategy and our contest. The way we structured it is to have 150 cash prize winners so almost every quality entry will win something. It's only $100 (there are bigger prizes for the top ones) but the real incentive is getting your feet wet in what we think will be an extremely lucrative market. Buyers on FGL spend $300,000-$400,000 a month sponsoring and licensing flash web games. If you design your mobile game in flash you can sell your app on Android and reach the desktop web game market at the same time.
If you are not interesting in developing with Flash can I ask why? What are the disadvantages compared to traditional tools for Android development?
Thanks for your time!

Official thread for the "Update My Moto" campaign

In 2012 Motorola announced she would upgrade our devices, Atrix and Photon, to Ice Cream Sandwich in Q3. As you all know, they have changed their stance, leaving us with an outdated version of Android to play with. Our devices can easily run even the last version of Android, Jelly Bean, so why the update was canceled for us?
With the Update My Moto! campaign, we are asking for a leak of what was been done before they canceled the update or a compatible Tegra 2 kernel for Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean. With these files, XDA developers can fix the problems themselves, while Motorola can make up for this mistake they made.
You can help us to achieve that. Share this campaign in your blog, social network, show it to your friends or file a BBB complaint. Let's grab Motorola's attention!

You should also take a look at the Support My Moto campaign. While we are focusing on a viral and social approach, they are going for a BBB one, that could work as well.
Take a look there. Won't hurt you to file a complaint and i promise it will only take you about 2 minutes of your day

Me and Loki are talking about this. While his campaign will focus on BBB, more phones and more info, this one will focus on viral action. We will partner up

Glad to hear this. Unity is something that will give us great strength, but if don't work together, the efforts will be in vain.

Thanks Loki
Gonna do it tomorrow too, since i'm leaving with my gf now.
Thank you "Android Authority"
Made a banner if you want to use. The least Motorola could do is give us what they started, it's not like they're going to finish anyways.
QBKing77 will be covering this issue and have a video up tomorrow. Between Update My Moto's social sharing and Support My Moto's backing we may pull this off or at least put a serious red mark in Moto's profits.
Good job. A few suggestions:
1. I'm not sure you want to ask for a "leak." We want a release, even if it's incomplete.
2. The kernel alone does no good. We need the HALs.
3. There are some grammatical errors.
Suggested rewording:
In February 2012, Motorola announced that the Atrix 4G and Photon 4G would receive upgrades to Ice Cream Sandwich. In September, they cancelled the upgrade, leaving us with an outdated version of Android. Many of us purchased our phones in anticipation of the upgrade. Many are locked into long-term carrier contracts which prevent us from upgrading our phones.
With this campaign, we are asking that Motorola release an upgrade or whatever work has already been completed on it. Even with an incomplete release, we may be able to develop a working version ourselves.
You can help us to achieve that. Share this campaign on your blog or social network, show it to your friends, or file a Better Business Bureau complaint. Let's grab Motorola's attention!

Let's keep in going
There needs to be a YouTube video on that main page with a good background info on the story and negative rant against Motorola and Google for their part. Not only will it make the website more "alive" with actual human depth, but the video can also be seen on YouTube and shared. Who knows, maybe it will lead to more people posting videos and voicing their opinions. The negative publicity might force Motorola to take action.

Mistakes Developers Make When Promoting Their Apps/Games

This is open discussion, please post your thoughts. Also I will be calling games "apps" too, for simplicity. I have released a game and I am now doing a couple of reviews now and then. This is all my experience. You can agree or dissagree and add your own experience.
This is the list so far
Make an app first and then seek to promote it
Promoting an app with bugs
Asking everyone for Google Play store rate&review without helping others first
Sending review requests without having proper materials for the reviewers and/or not replying to the reviewer
And my notes
This was my biggest mistake. I learned it the hard way and I can see many people do the same. You make an awesome game and nobody ever heard about it before. You need to have people already following your progress. Remember, everything you do is newsworthy to someone! If not, then your game is doomed anyway.
I got few games to review that I couldn't run on 2/3 of my devices. After some time I see the game in google play store with 20 ratings and 2 stars...
In indie "Pay It Forward" works. And it would work much better if everybody did it. The most popular truly indie game I reviewed on my site was from a guy who created an awesome series of tutorials and helped everyone else first. He gots tons of downloads immediately...
My personal favourite. It makes my queue of games to review much shorter. Seriously, people - promoting something is a hard work. Deal with it. And if someone can get you more downloads, it's a good reason to at least try.

We have a flow chart stuck on the wall showing the app business development cycle.
* Application Planning: concept design, feature design, APIs available, prototyping, audience targeting, platform selection, form factor selection
* Develop and Debug: Platform IDE, SDKs, APIs,
* Market Readiness: developer reg, certification, beta testing, localisation, packaging
* Distribution and Monitization: App publishing, billing, virtual goods, in app advertising
* Retailing and Discovery; Curation, in-app pricing, advertising, promos, PR, Merchandising
* In-Life: Analytics, ratings, user support and updates
Lots of developers spent 90% of there time doing just the development. I think the reality of your success (or your business) needs to spend ALOT more time doing the other processes. Remember when we used to work for large companies that had an actual marketing department? :highfive:

[CLOSED] FOOTJUMP: Football cup Brazil 2014

You have to navigate the Fuleco on the fragments of lawn of football stadium trying to avoid falling and angry judges to collect the balls as many as you can for score and get world cup with brazilian woman in addition.
Feel free to contact us if you have any suggestions or wishes and thanks for trying it out.
Good luck and have fun!
For Android.

This thread is for "Discuss your experiences getting downloads, optimizing for search engine and app store placement, and using third-party marketing tools.".... It is not for apps or games advertising. That thread is here...http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=530

Learn How to Make Android Games (+Desktop, iOS, Web) [EBOOK/PDF/EPUB] SAMPLE

I previously posted about my 'How To Make A 2D Game' series here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKK4kDogg-8), which received very positive feedback, and was featured on the Portal, and I've now taken in some suggestions and began writing up an updated, text version of the series, and I'm looking to get some more feedback from XDA again. Currently, I have a sample available to download, and would like your thoughts, and recommendations for price (planning to sell on Amazon, iBooks and Play Books hopefully once it's done), and such. Content will cover everything in the YouTube Series, and a hell of a lot more (feel free to make suggestions on that). Here is a link to the sample:
