[Oxygen OS 2.0] Potential bug found - fingerprint scanner - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good Morning everyone,
Problem : Once i recieve a call and i pick up the call on my ears the proximity sensor will turn off the screen as normal. then after the call i cannot unlock my phone through fingerprint scanner. i need to use password to unlock.
If i use speakerphone instead there is no problem. so that means its problem with fingerprint and proximity sensors.
It definitely feels like a software bug.
Please can somebody else try this to see if they experience the same issue.
Thanks

This is the exact issue I am experiencing, does anyone else have the same issue? I am hoping it is just a software bug:

No problem with mine.
Using my OnePlus 2 to post here

I have just upgraded to Oxygen 2.0.1 and can confirm this issue is now fixed for me

Mid Call Proximity Sensor Problem

Does anyone know if there is a way to adjust the proximity sensor.
It's proving a problem for my wife who uses the phone. When she's on a call the phone is intermittently sensing if she's holding it to her ear.
Hence being a capactive screen, when her cheek brushes the screen during a call the other end either hears DTMF or gets cut off by it touching the end call.
I called her yesterday and kept getting random DTMF digits sent to me, then I got sut off.
I was watching her use the phone and the screen was de-activiting (correctly going blank) for part of the call then coming back on, this would happen several times during one call.
Is this a hardware issue or software bug. Has anyone else suffered this problem?
Also happened to me a few times touching end call wih my cheek, really annoying.
Anyone else having the same problem with the proximity sensor intermittently not working during a call?
I had that problem on the old 1.43 ROM but it was fixed when I upgrade to 1.48.
I have this problem and I constantly have to call back and say sorry to my customers and blame it on the phone...
I have reported several errors to HTC and all i get back is "Take it to the retailer and get it changed, it must be a hw error", annoying as hell
1.48 not yet official in sweden.
TouchLockPro
You can try TouchLockPro, it has an InCallTweak, using the GSensor. Searching for accessing programmatically the Proximity Sensor though, for more options (e.g unlock by Proximity Sensor). It works on HTC Leo, people confirmed.
Thanks ZuinigeRijder.
I've tried the software and I think it might work.
I loaded the software and it worked without any further config I presume that is currect.

Indeed, TouchLockPro detects itself the available sensors and uses the available ones. Of course you can configure detailed things (via pressing the BattClock), but the defaults are already the sensible ones
Thanks again ZuinigeRijder.
Just been doing some more testing and occasionally the screen flashes on for a brief moment during a call. Could it be the proximity sensor trying to turn on the screen? Or is it the G sensor not being very accurate?
In the application is there a way for me to adjust the G-Sensor angles that activate the screen off? i.e. 45+ Degrees activate ??
Or are there any other adjustments I could make during testing??
I found one more problem... I checked it several times....
If u make a call using portrait orientation of phone app (Rotated using BSB Tweak). Proximity sensor doesnt work at all.... i made a while lyin on the bed and no matter wat i tried it wasnt turning off the screen....
Then i kept it in portrait position for a few seconds den proximity started working again...
Is there anyone who can confirm me with this problem.... or is this issue only with my HD2

Telephone Blocks on Call

Hi,
I have a problem with my HTC Legend:
When calling someone often the proximity sensor activates before I put the phone on my ear and the screen goes off but when I try to turn it on again there is no key active and the phone seems to be not responsive for a while.. Sometimes I need to take the battery out to restore it.
Please note sometimes it works correctly, sometimes not. Also I am not using any protectors.
This is a big issue because the phone becomes unusable very easy on an outgoing call. Does anyone know if this is a problem with the Software version or it's a hardware issue. And are there any apps that can solve this?
Thank you

Different proximity sensor issue

So I read in the net about the proximity sensor issue, that the phone is turning on by itself. I did not experience such problem at all, but I do have a problem with the proximity sensor: when I'm on a call, in the most time the screen does not turn off, so I accidentally pres "mute microphone" or turn on "speaker phone", which is very annoying. This is with the 2 OTA updates patched already, was the same before them too.
Do you have such problems, like I do? Anything that we can do to fix this issue?
Sounds like the common proximity sensor problem....

Disable Proximity Sensor @ Lollipop

Hello,
i´m looking for a solution for my proximity sensor problem. After drop down and screen replacement, i recognized that the sensor doesn´t work anyomore like he normally should.
The problem is well known, but i didn´t want to tear my nexus down. With the app Proximity Screen Off Lite it was possible to disable the sensor, but now, after updating to 5.0 it doesn´t work anymore.
I tried lots of other proximity apps, but none of them are working.
So, can anyone help me? (Phone is rooted)

did you ever future anything out? i have a similar problem since installing 5

Proximity sensor is always on

Today I noticed that the proximity sensor of my G6 (H870DS) was on while reading in google books. I found that odd so I tried other apps, the home screen and screen off (tried disabling the knock-on feature and have always on display disabled)... still emitting.
Also found this reddit thread with people experiencing the same issue. OP suggests that it came after the July OTA.
I didn't notice any issues, or battery drain, except that it is always on. Did anybody else notice this? Is there a way to turn it off?
I'm not comfortable with it emitting all the time, might damage over time. Thx!
hi does anybody else experience this? thanks

it can happen when an app using the sensor and doesn't release it so it always scan and funtion. it can be phone app or a bug in firmware.
restart your phone and directly go to google book and check if this issue occurs or not.
:good:
Hey there, nope that's regrettably not the case. The proximity sensor starts emitting in the last stages of the boot process (LG logo animation is still on screen), so it's very likely not app related.
I am also experiencing the same issue. It also occurs when in Safe Mode. If you search reddit LG G6, you can see that several people have reported this issue. I've contacted LG and they know nothing about this issue. There must be a way to get a senior engineer at LG to look into this.
My proximity sensor always seems to be on. If I place a phone call and hold the phone next to my face and then remove the phone from my face, the screen does not turn back on. I have to use a BT headset to conduct phone calls.
