BBC News website images compress after loading - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Using Note 4 SM-910F with Android 5.0.1 and any browser, images in the BBC.co.uk/news website articles (not the homepage) compress after they have momentarily displayed. So the page downloads, for a moment you see the headline picture nice and clear, then a moment later it degrades and shows compression artefacts. See attached pair of before/after screen captures. Look especially at the "Ashley Madison" text in the lower right corner of the photo, and the overall image clarity and detail.
I suspect this is something to do with the BBC and their love of 'responsive' web design. I have asked the BBC but no reply yet. But any chance it is a fault in the Note 4?

Full screen video - iplayer files

Hi
I have searched around a bit & not found an answer to this, although others have reported the same issue (with different files).
I want to view iplayer (BBC) videos in full screen, but played through Windows Media they are reduced to about 3/4 of the screen & slightly choppy. I can cope with the choppy (although I don't see why it is) but I want to scale up the video to fit the screen, otherwise what is the point of this resolution.
Are there any options ?
This is the same behaviour on stock 6.1 OS & a cooked 6.5 OS.
Yeh i've got the same issue.
I mean what's all this about - i don't understand why the quality is so bad on the iplayer mobile website; surely the iplayer applications on the iphone, some nokias phones etc are of good quality?
I haven't actually done anything to my the rom on my xperia and i only got it a couple of weeks ago, but i'm looking to possibly flashing 6.5 to the device in the future providing i find a good version of it(as i have no clue where to start) . As well as this i've only just been able to get onto the iplayer mobile website as my xperia wasn't recognised as a supported device by the website and it turns out the user agent in opera was blank for some reason
with my current setup, iplayer appears really small when streaming is first started and when put into fullscreen mode only fills about 3/4 of the screen with a border of black as well as the picture being really badly pixelated. There's got to be some better alternative to this, maybe a third party app perhaps which can do better quality. I hope the bbc improve on this at some point because this is a real disapointment
have you got a fix on this at all?
(i know and it's proper jarring when people don't reply to your threads)
The bbc have to get a stream which will connect over slow speeds to mobiles with small screens. Whereas the X1 has one of the biggest screens (in terms of pixels) on the market. This is why it looks crap on the X1.
Instead of streaming you could try "sideloading" and download the mobile version of the file from the iPlayer website first and copying it across to the phone.
Or use the iPlayer Downloader which will get the iPhone version as an MP4 for you to copy across.

Image viewer does not display full photo?

Was very disappointed with the camera's quality, but recently transferred some photos onto my computer, and they look at least 10 times better.
Does anyone else have this problem where pictures viewed in mediascape do not zoom in properly? I take photos of notes and stuff, and it's near impossible to read the words on the phone, but on the computer, it's fine.
It's as if the phone does not use the full jpg, but just a thumbnail the size of the phone's screen. Don't know how many photos I've deleted thinking they were blurry
Use JustPictures from the market.
Seems to be better than mediascape.

[Q] Facebook photos

Ok here's a stupid question, but why is it that on my vivo air the Facebook app shows foto's more compressed (I'm browsing photos, not uploading) and on my friends Samsung android (should be same app right?) phone they show much sharper?
The photos appear compressed at first - they render if you give them time. I don't use Facebook but a lot of mobile sites do that. It's similar to a video loading quicker in 240p vs. 720p.
I know that google plus images look pixelated and not as sharp usually if they were just uploaded

Text and ebook reading experience on the S7 Edge screen

Hi,
How's the text reading experience on the S7 Edge in portrait mode, using apps such as Google Play Books, Kindle or Pocket? I'm afraid of light reflections / glares at the edges (very apparent in stores' artificial lighting) and text distortion when using narrow margins.
I don't have a ton of data to support, but I read for quite a while at my daughters gymnastics place, with horrible bright artificial light with no issues and the edges had no distortion or other noticeable effects to me. (Google Play Books). By the way, the book I just finished was Ready Player One (right in my childhood wheelhouse), can't wait to see Spielberg's take on the movie.
Thanks for you feedback (btw, I have also enjoyed this book). Anyone else who can share their experience?
I just got back from the store where I loaded some previously prepared 1440x2560 screenshots. The ones from Google Play Books and Pocket seemed OK, but on PDFs and mobile websites with little to no padding the glare and distortion were quite prominent, same as in Youtube in landscape mode - so I'm still not convinced

Fullscreen on youtube clips major area of the bottom side after Android 10 update

So all has been good after the update to android 10. No major issues. However, there is some issue with watching videos on fullscreen on the youtube website, NOT the app. (tested on firefox and chrome)
The bottom part of the video clips/ fall through. I have attached screenshots showing the same.
Anyone else facing the same issue? Solutions?
First image shows normal/vertical orientation. Second one (with the clipping) is full screen/landscape.
