Stagefright-Bug-Fix for Galaxy Nexus Kitkat 4.4.4 - Omni Q&A

Hi,
is there a chance to get a Fix für Omnirom 4.4.4, because there is no Omnirom Lollipop for Galaxy Nexus available?
I'm so happy with Kitkat Omnirom on GNex and wan't to use it even longer.

I'm planning on backporting the fixes to 4.4 and doing a re-release, I just haven't had time. Possibly this weekend.

Is there anywhere a re-release with bug-fixes available?

Have backported and pushed these fixes (along with September security updates) into gerrit that weekend. They got already merged by now.

Awesome! Thank you very much! Does dl.omnirom.org use an automatic build system such that all the old KK versions are going to be upgraded/built?

@maxwen, @Entropy512: Would it be an option to have built updated releases for the 4.4 devices? I guess that would mean alot to many loyal Omni users around here. :highfive:
Let me know if I can be of any help :good:

Not at this point for 4.4 - 4.4 builds have to be triggered manually (but for someone with Jenkins access, it only takes a few button presses).

I was on vacation and just got back. I'll try to sync up with @XpLoDWilD tonight, I believe he did the last manual build (4.4 -FINAL - this one should be named 4.4 -SECURITY IMO.)

This would be awesome, thanks! It would make OmniROM the only patched KitKat ROM available (besides the very few aging devices that CM patched).

Sorry for the Double-Post, but I'm still very interested in a new Omni-Release, where the several Stagefright-Bugs are fixed.
Can I expect such a fixed Build? I would be very grateful.

Hmm, they should have been on dl.omnirom.org a few weeks ago... I know we had plodey do a rebuild cycle, but I don't know where the builds went.

Hm, unfortunately until now there is nothing. It would be really freat if u guys looked into it. I guess many ppl would be interested in a security patched KK, me included

Its a bug in CM that started around the 20-07 builds, there have been various commits that have supposedly fixed the issue for some moto g's but not others. I'm gonna take a guess and say that slim rom is based (entirely or partly) on CM and because the audio issue still hasn't been fixed for CM it wont be fixed for other roms based of it, your best bet is to flash the AudioFixV3 which changes the audio blobs/files back to the last nightly (20-06 i believe) that didn't have the audio issues. Note that this file was meant for CM so i don't know how it will effect other roms.

Android lollipop 5.0 aosp released!!

Hey everyone, couldnt find an announcement thread so I started one myself.
Android 5.0 Lollipop AOSP has just been released! Anyone who cant wait to get there hands on it here you go! Droid-Life was so kind to post links!
http://www.droid-life.com/2014/11/03/aosp-aosp-lollipop-time/
Now within 90 days CM will release Android 5.0 so we'll have to be patient for an official version otherwise beta builds should be out soon
and within days we will have a custom rom

i actually don't agree with cm on that, htc Samsung taking 90days is legitimate because they have tons of devices to maintain, but one plus only has one to maintain, it should take less time

Think he's saying that because it started rolling out last night (around 9 I think UK time?) and that people have been talking about it in the Development thread.
So I wouldn't say old news really but that's probably why he said it.

Apart from Nexus(es) and Google Editions, no phones have a device tree specific for lollipop.
But, considering I came from a device which sources never got released (Galaxy S Advance) and devs was still able to build (not to port, to build) up to 4.4.4, that shouldn't be a problem
Just don't be in a hurry, first rule of XDA is NO ETA.
The manifest is still missing, and lots of the code is still 4.4 kitkat code..
There's still some time to go.
I just pray that our beloved Dev s can keep it or stop it rather from looking like apple os L
Sent from my One A0001 using XDA Free mobile app
All that developers really have to do to port it to the OPO is to get the patches used in CM for the OPO and apply them to Lollipop. There may be some problems that will occur during the application of the patches, but that all can be fixed.
I'll be excited to see a port and to use it dual booting until OnePlus releases the firmware for the One.
I think we will get 5.0 this month, but not the CM version. I can remember that Oneplus posted a AOSP version for the One by themselves. So why shouldn't they publish a AOSP version of Lollipop?

They may do that. But we will more likely get an unofficial build much sooner than official AOSP/CM12S.
CM12 Nightlis will also come long time before CM12S

Because their official ROM is CyanogenMod. If they will release an official AOSP 5.0 a lot of people will stop using CM11s and that would create a legal issue. It's not like Touchwiz for Samsung or Sense for HTC, the rom in the opo is not their intellectual property., they just have the right to use it.
where is that 5.0? cant see it ages

Nexus 6 Shamu AOSPA - Paranoid Android

I'm surprised not to see a link in reference to it yet and I'm sure that the paranoid team will make an official thread soon enough but for now this will do to let everyone know that paranoid android is available finally for our device.
Please not that it is still an alpha release so there may be bugs, don't report them in here as this is just to inform users and has nothing to do with the official team.
Grab the ROM file here.....http://get.aospa.co/

Was wondering where the thread was to this. Saw it on G+ this morning and downloaded but haven't flashed yet. Glad to see PA is an option for N6 users. I'm sure we will see some nice features with this ROM as it develops. Maybe we will get lock screen customization back sooner than we think.

I'll admit they launched way after Cyan and Cyan have more stable features but the PA guys always like to make sure things work before they release it since they have no nighties. I was expecting more from the first release but ah well they'll get there eventually. I'm still on stock atm anyway Cyan has a stutter problem with the notification/toggle swipe and animations that annoyed me too much.

LAST CM11 Nightly! [OFFICIAL] (Original link deleted)

So for whatever reason, Cyanogen has removed all CM11 nightlies from their servers. Some people are quite upset at this. I know I was. The last Slimkat stable gave me problems, and the CM12 nightlies are a work in progress. I eventually gave in and began sampling various Lollipop ROMs. Now I've found out that someone was kind enough to post it on Google Drive. Here's the link:
cm-11-20150105-NIGHTLY-bacon.zip
I checked the integrity of the file. The MD5 matches up to the one listed on Cyanogen's website. Enjoy. Here's the MD5 to see if it downloads OK on your side.
md5sum: 7cb44264cc5386dba24c8687c0e8e4cb
If this link goes down, I will repost the file myself.
Oh, and I ask any and all devs who want to screw with this nightly to go right ahead. If it has any problems or features you want added, it's up to the community to add them.
BUGS:
-The screen has a really hard time waking up both through DT2W and the power button. This can be fixed by turning "Prevent accidental wake-up" off in Display settings. This bug is also present in the last Slimkat stable. >_<

Actually, I can't stake credit for the 44S addons. I can't remember where I got them from; they didn't have a dedicated thread. As far as I can remember somebody wanted them and somebody else threw together this zip. I'm assuming that the fact that they are sourced from the last KitKat OTA helps with the compatibility part.

[Q] when we get android 8 for our nexus 4?

hi friends,
do you know, our nexus 4s get android Oreo by nitrogen or lineage or other roms? if yes, I know stable android Oreo version will release mid august, when we get custom rom?
we can't know this
When it comes fyi: asking for an ETA is kinda rude on xda
wait till October or November probably for a decently stable ROM
Excitedly expect first android Oreo Rom for nexus 4 on september 17
and first 32bit snapdragon android oreo port, fully work
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73494285&postcount=1356
so, now we have very big chance for our nexus 4...
and first nexus 5 android oreo port, booting and wifi working now, one similiar devices too
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73538437&postcount=6286
for now has boot problem but after all the first nexus 4 oreo
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73594437&postcount=231
I have compiled android 8 and I managed to get it booting(lots of changes on kernel and device tree). Need a lot of work but mako probably will get a fully fuctional android 8 rom.
good news
thanks for good news,
