Some ideas for Windows 10 Mobile - Windows Phone 8 General

Hi everyone. I often look Windows Feedback and each time a little surprised what users offer do:
"add another view calendar"
"live tiles does not work"
"return the view albums"
"add the closing applications with one button"
"optimize battery consumption"
And this is the end of user suggestions...
I thought for a moment and decided to write about what I lack. I write here because it is very difficult to bring my 'unique' ideas to other users via the application. Of course, there are ideas that have been proposed, but for some reason not scored any significant number of votes. Hope, you will support:
Using phone as SD card. It's very fast and convenient.

Using phone as a webcam. Agree with me it would be cool to use a 41 megapixel camera as the webcam?
Shooting a photo during video recording
Flashlight while shooting a photo
Touch to shoot
The maximum exposure time should be up to 30 seconds
MHL
OTG
Continuum via MHL and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi paired devices
Switching tabs in Edge by swiping left or right on the adress bar, swipe up - view tabs
Back button should close the tab. Also, it should be a button to restore the closed tab(s)
Applications must be closed by pressing "back" key
There should be a button to close playing music
Permanent notifications for processes like downloading
New Universal applications launching is very long
Swipe from left to right to open hamburger menu. Just it should be here
I'm attaching screenshots so you can find your review and to vote for it
So late. Tomorrow completed yet.☺

I would be very happy if I can read and reply to SMS from Windows 10 PC.
Maybe some gestures in Edge - for examples - swiping with two fingers to go to next tab.

Shortcut to Settings

Does anyone know how to create a shortcut to Settings?
I've just recently bought and installed ProgramMenuPlus to cascade my Start Menu but only thing is that it doesn't handle the Settings menu so I need a shortcut to be placed on the Programs Menu.
Can someone help?
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnppcgen/html/ppc_tcuts2.asp
I have all of my control panel plus some extras as a cascading menu in SmallMenu, with icons. If you want, I can zip them up and send them over.

thanks Vijay, you're a legend on this boards. I managed to work out that with ProgramMenuPlus, you can add an extra icon on top of the normal Start Menu (just like in Seymour) and have dual Start Menus (the MenuPlus & the original Menu).
By the way, am looking thru the list of apps you wrote...I like the VJLumos, it adds that extra brightness at night for reading and makes a good flashlight
Keep up the good work champ!!
I actually use SmallMenu and ProgramMenu.
This is my SmallMenu replacing the start menu. I never use the start menu anymore (and obviously this is without using ToggleToday, for clarity):

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then I use a much smaller ProgramMenu menu assigned to my contacts key, to just load up PIM stuff etc very quickly, eg calendar, contacts blah blah. That way it's even faster then navigating SmallMenu's submenus... I launch it with my thumb, navigate up/down with dpad and enter. Very quick..I really like SmallMenu.
Thanks for your comments
VJLumos is very much for those who like to live on the edge, but the effect is certainly worth seeing. i wonder why they didn't implement the brighter screen to begin with! I've been doing some slow work to find a better way to implement it, but I'm waiting on some slightly better tools before I can finish it...

new ListItem

Hey,
Ive written a Listcontrol with Scroll support. It supports scrolling, activating
and dragging ( wait short when touch the Display, then you can drag ).
This Zip contains two files, grid view and list view.
It would be nice if you can test it, and give me a feedback. For testing it is also a little ApplicationLauncher, which should work for english ROMs.
It requires .net compact 2.0

The control itself seems to work fine on my T-Mobile Wing, although the font in the grid is way too small and the grid's scrolling seems smoother than the list's. The list is kind of slow.
Also when clicking on the task (outlook) application in the start menu (both list and grid), it crashes:
at System.Diagnostics.Process.StartWithShellExecuteEx(ProcessStartInfor startInfo). It's part of my recent programs list, so I don't know if that could be the reason?
Do you plan to release the control?
Working ok on my prophet grid icons and text to small list just plain white grid runs better and managed to start screen shot

Hey,
thanks for your answers, its nice to show you're interested.
I have just changed the ListView, so it scroll like the Grid one, and shows Icons.
With the icons and App Launch Exception I have to look, what could be done, but I will find a reason ;-)
Sorry for second Post,
I have now changed the Font size in Grid view,
you ll find it in Atachment
greets doena
PS: please dont use the minimize button, it doesnt work well

[WAD2] Working on a concept: Feedbacks?

So, I'm working on a concept called Devonshire and I'd like to get people's opinions on it.

What I want to do with the photo stack is actually keeping the white frame and cutting out the photo so users can add their own photo underneath to simulate their own photo. Is there a way to do to this and make the photo cycle at a predetermined interval?
The Home Page icons are all new and semi-transparent. The 1st icon will bring up a sub-menu with 6-8 most common used programs. The 2nd icon is the phone icon. The 3rd icon is the alt-tab icon. The 4th is the S2U2 icon.
I'm thinking that pressing on the clock will open the "next appointment" dock.
What do you guys think?
Terrific concept. Look forward to the finished product.
I updated the first page with the five different tabs side-by-side. Right now, I'm about 80% done with getting things installed unto WAD. By later today, I should have a version that I can upload here =D
For both the apps/settings page and contacts page, the bottom right and bottom left corner of the book will change the pages (docks).
I have a question: For the home page, is there a way on WAD to make the photos change every 5 min automatically?
Also, I haven't played around with the built-in agenda in WAD, but is it possible to use the graphics I have for the agenda (Today header strip, highlighted strip, day header strip)
Any feedbacks?
It looks a little cluttered to me, but it still looks nice.

How To Make HTC One Nearly Full Gesture Based, no root, no tricks, no costs

Just good ol' Android customization and apps, baby:
EDIT: How do I make pictures smaller? Sorry for the giant pics...
Using Swipe Pad (free from Play Store), you can set it up so that it's activated from a gesture from the bottom of the screen (or anywhere else). I have it there so. To activate, I gesture up from the HTC logo (very BBZ10 like). This can be done from anywhere and any app.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then the "Home" portal (a default option of Swipe Pad) can bring you back to the home screen. Then the two portals around it are to put the device to sleep (via an app that's called Screen Off and Lock, also free) so I don't always have to reach up to the power/wake button.
Then the above level of portals are my most frequented apps. I didn't set anything higher but that may yet come. You can add almost anything you want!
It's not only a handy app switcher of sorts, but also one that allows you to set gesture based commands.
Anyway, links to the apps I used are below.
And there you go, a nearly full gesture base HTC One. The only time I have to really reach up to press the power/wake button is to wake the device.
Just thought I'd share! The only obstacle is when the on-screen menu buttons are present. All the more reason for HTC to update the software to rid us of that obnoxious menu bar.

Now if only you can figure out how to turn it on with swipes without rooting

[Q] Any Uses for the S-Pen Button?

Hi,
My unit should be coming tomorrow and I was just wandering any cool tricks for the S-Pen button?
Thx.
They act as mouse left click select ..
Mark text like youd do with a mouse on a pc.
Other than that, the image clip is handy IME, for quite a few things. My most recent thing was making a quick S Note document to share with travel companions by clipping flight info from email, hotel info from my browser, directions to the hotel from maps with handwritten circles around nearby landmarks naming them, and weather info for the trip. Sent it to my travel companions with email as a PDF, they could print it or keep it on their phone. Really quick and easy.
example:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Other than that, taking a picture and drawing over it has been quite useful, for instance Im attending a course on a new piece of SW for my firm, I can take a picture of the interface, circle around a particular feature on the UI and make a note about that particular bit, instead of having to describe what part the notes are about for that particular segment (like say marking the taskbar in windows 7 and noting that you can pin programs there) which is a lot easier to teach on to colleagues.
Hold the button and doubletap the screen (even lockscreen depending on your device lock choice i guess) to instantly get action memo up.
Iunno... stuff like that? Theres a lot more about the SPen itself, but for the button Im not sure what else to tell you off of the top of my head.
Apps can also use the button for things - for example LectureNotes allows to use it to switch to eraser.
