Bounty For unlocking bootloader! - E 2015 General

It's exactly as the description says. If anyone can figure out how to unlock the bootloader and then root the moto e 2015 from Cricket and show proof I will give you $100. Anyone up to the challenge?

Just thought about it, couldn't we use the stage freight hack to root the phone

There‘s already a root, if I‘m not mistaken! You can check out a tutorial on how to unlock and root here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e-2015#root
You can donate those $100 to the developers here

Unfortunately, the root that is available requires bootloader unlocking. Some of us (At&t, Cricket etc) don't allow for unlocking the bootloader. Hence the bounty.

Ugh, I picked this phone up for VZW as a backup that I now have to use (goodbye Moto X 2013). I too hate not being able to unlock this phone, thought for sure a little post-paid would be easy to unlock.

Yeah I'd like to see this too, my phone is supposed to be a unlockable model but they're still refusing to let me do it (Moto E 2nd 4G LTE model XT1527)

I'm in the same position
Sent from my MotoE2(4G-LTE) using Tapatalk

The SunShine application on theroot.ninja website says my Moto E (XT1527) passes initial safety checks that unlocking the bootloader would be possible but that it requires a pre-rooted system to do it.

Well whatever the case is, @jcase along with any and all developers we should ALL contribute to the development (developers) of Android. If the man has figured out how to root kitkat and chooses to not release it without getting a bounty out of it, then that's up to him. None of us have any room to get upset about it. Put me down for $30 if you release it @jcase. Thanks for all you've done for us so far!!!

Verizon is not going to support unlocking the bootloader on a non developer device. I'm not sure the point of creating a petition.

I think it was around... never? Yep, that's it. When are people going to realise that online petitions aren't taken seriously? Only exception is if it's signed by millions and the media gives it publicity. Otherwise forget it.

Honestly, I don't see the point. Verizon doesn't want an unlockable bootloader on their devices. There is nothing that can make that happen. They don't want to have to deal with the support issues. If you want a phone with a unlockable bootloader, don't buy a Verizon phone. It is not that complicated. A petition has no bearing on Verizon's decision. There isn't enough customers who really want to unlock their phone's bootloader to install a custom rom.
So good luck to all 17 of you!

I find it amazing you can reply to this thread twice, with no intentions of helping out your fellow xda'er. Why did you even bother replying? It does not take much time to sign the petition. Less then it took you to reply twice, that's for sure.
There's really nothing amazing about two posts. The time wasted here can be matched evenly with, say, signing this junk.
Here's to being blissful time spenders!

Yeah, it looks like during this beta only those cards are being accepted. I went back and read the beta requirements.

Just curious for everyone that's been able to successfully register a card with Samsung Pay. How is it going? Have you been able to use it without it crashing? Have you tried the mst or just nfc. Wouldn't have to ask but I'm on Verizon so I have to live through everyone else who isn't lol...
