[Q] Custom tiles to be added to SlimLP ? - SlimRoms Q&A

Hey folks,
Slim is my favorite base ROM, ever.
I used it quite a lot on my TMO Note 3 SlimKat and LOVED that you had an option to add custom quick toggles that pointed to any app we wanted.
Like, I could add a Tasker quick toggle, or a Pandora quick toggle.
Will this feature be added to SlimLP anytime in the future?
I'm not asking for an ETA.
I'm just wondering if it has been discussed, or if maybe you already tried and found it would not work, or something else?

I knew there would be someone with this same question! I just got back on Slim from a small hiatus and wanted to add a quick tile for Hotspot. If adding this in hasn't been discussed yet, should we post it as a feature request in the appropriate area?

The Xposed module GravityBox has custom tiles. But they are terrible in comparison to how well Slim had theirs setup. I really miss the Slim custom tiles. Hope it gets added to Marshmallow soon.
But Slim development overall has been slow the last year for most devices. I think they had a team shake-up or something.

They have had several change. Hit up their site for more information: http://slimroms.org - They had some member turnover, some legal stuff to deal with, a new website, etc... I have been away for about a year now and went to their website with a "Woah. Holy crap?" reaction. Like the OP, I am definitely not pushing this for an ETA or to drive dev immediately. Just looking to see if it's been discussed to get them back, and if not, if we should log a feature request.
Right now, I am just really happy to be back on slim.

The Feature Request Thread

In an effort to help cut our clutter down, this thread should be used for all general feature requests.
First request:
Use the other forums for non-develop related posts.
Second request:
Aosp ported to the eris.

^^ This ^^
A proper tutorial for changing splash1 - DONE
A proper tutorial for boot animations -- including all the ins and outs of image creation/format, programs that are used, and a more complete description of desc.text and how to use it.
I'm all for helping out on those as well pm if anyone would like to exchange info before creating a nicely formatted thread based how to. I'll prolly drop in to chat at some point when I get time too.
PS: I think we should start putting our how-to threads in the general section to avoid people posting randomness in the development section. Since at that point we should be doing minimal development anyway and development related conversation could still take place in the proper forum. Also this could be put in the general forum once people catch on.
All those in favor say Aye.
somebody please make a better dialer... It is the bane of my existence
aosp
Forgive my ignorance, but what is aosp?
theme development
now that we have root has anyone taken a shot at a skin for eris? maybe port some of the wicked cool stuff they have working on the hero side? tons of notification bars, clocks, rosie scrollers...and so much more...just excited to see where our devices can go.
To the devs, thanks for all your effort. For those who are impatient ect just know these guys n gals have work, school, families ect and all they do for us is on their own time...so that being said be courteous and thankful and most of all patient...development has to well...develope....

AOSP is the Android Open Source Project, which is the latest open version of Android, Codenamed Eclair at this time. Its roughly the same as Android 2.1 release.
My Requests
All HTC Widgets including the new ones from the desire/ legend (Friendstream, RSS Reader, Today in History etc.)
Re-skinned Sense Bottom Bar (Some Hero Roms have a rectangular one rather than the curved one we have)
Speed/ Battery Optimization
speech to text
A larger camcorder resolution would be nice, at least the resolution the phone runs in. Also an overclocked processor.
Could anyone see about Using Dialer One as the default dialer app? Like when you press "PHONE", Dialer One comes up instead? That would be great.

Is there any comparison matrix available comparing features of different ROM's?

Is there any thread around comparing different ROM's available feature wise? Kind of a matrix? With so many ROM featuring several common features and many unique ones it will be helpful if you are trying to find a ROM with similar feature if you are having trouble with what you are on.

Don't think there are any at the moment..Maybe you should start a thread like that in the General section.
Good idea, but it could be huge and very time consuming keeping it up to date.
I saw something like this, I think in the Nexus 7 forums. It was just an Google Drive spreadsheet
My exams are just over, I might have the time to do that.
Any list of a few ROMs I should definitely try out?

Try them all for a good comparison
There is something like.. 60-70 ROMs o_o
And I'd most likely make it into a Google spreadsheet, based on this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2006616
Btw, would you guys want a detailed comparison, like for example
Nav Bar Height | Nav Bar Colour | Nav Bar Transparency
--------Yes-------------------No---------------------Yes---------------
or Customizable Navbar
------------- Yes

May be it can be started with ROM's from Original Android Development Forums with basic feature comparison like default Kernel, Navbar Customization (Yes, No, CM, AOKP), Pie (CM or PA), PA Colours, Center clock etc., per App DPI, ribbon etc.

Yup, I've made a rough draft but I don't have much support from the members, might just consider abandoning the project.. BRB while I find my thread.
Edit: here

Only 1 person actually participated in the thread, is that saddening or saddening

That looks great. Maybe we can start with a simpler (smaller?) format and smaller set of feature and make the spreadsheet shared so everyone can update it with their experience. Also instead of 60 something ROM, ROM's in original android development could be starting point.

Sorry, it's my first time messing with Google Docs, is there any way to moderate edits before they are saved? I think if I open the doc, some jokers will definitely delete the entire doc or something.
Thanks for the suggestions ^_^
Its a good project for someone.

Well I see a shared google doc for Nexus colors or something, we can make something similar. I'll try to dig something today to figure out what we can do.

And in post #6, OP mentioned that he has to make frequent backups. I'll have the weekend to flash as many ROMs as I can then!

[Q] Call/text Blacklist implementation coming?

Hi, as the subject implies, I am wondering if there are any plans to integrate this feature.
I put my N4 through the "super wash" cycle of my washing machine. It's gone. It's never coming back. I am sad.
Via search, I see one other person has asked about this, but got no answer. I am searching for a ROM, while wating for my N5. I prefer to not be a crack-flasher.
I was just curious to see if this was something that might show up in Omni. Omni seems to check all the check boxes for features I am looking for, but that one. I have built a few functioning ROMs (completely from other folks sources) but I doubt my ability to add this feature to Omni, for myself.
(I really don't want to stir up any unpleasantness, as I know that this was a CM feature, I was sorry to hear about all of that stuff)
derp-- I hadn't looked at the Feature Request section yet. I see this feature has been requested there.

pure nexus questions for nexus 6p

Hi all! First, I'm new here so allow me to introduce myself with keywords: single dad, gunsmith, water treatment specialist, biker, competitive shooter, noob techie, sci-fi fanatic.
SHC is short for SteelHorseCowboy, a user name on other forums. I'm one of the few my age (31) who've actually worked and made a living from atop a horse. Even rode to school on one and used the practice football field as a paddock. School got free mowing, I just had to pick up after the horse. Moses passed while I was in Iraq, and now I ride motorcycles instead of flesh and blood.
Anyway, I just recieved my N6P yesterday. Have rooted and messed around with ROMs on my N6 so I'm not completely inexperienced in that regard. I've decided to try out the Pure Nexus ROM, but have a few questions before I dive in. I did try searching, read and watched reviews, checked out the developers thread and read the changelog, so I've done my homework but very easily could have overlooked this...
A negative answer to either of these is not a deal breaker, I'll be switching anyway!
Does Pure Nexus support the N6P's fingerprint scanner? I've fallen in love with the option.
Does immersive mode also hide the navbar, or do the navbar customizations allow it to be hidden? I HATE navbars, much prefer LMT pie or UCCW Hotspots. I know build.prop edit can hide them and a build.prop editor is included in the ROM. I even have the edit saved to evernote for quick reference after updates or when helping others, but I'd rather use the built in ROM settings for some reason... I dunno, it just seems "cleaner" to me.
That's it! That's all I want to know! Any and all help is much appreciated! Thanks in advance for your responses.
TL;DR? Fast forward to "A negative answer..."

Hi and thank you for using XDA Assist
Try asking in the ROM thread
Or in the Q&A Section
Just went ahead and flashed it a week or so ago. Has everything I've ever wanted in a ROM. Loving it!
The immersive mode actually working on the nav buttons as well as the status bar is exactly what I think I always needed. They're there when I need them, gone when I don't!
